Can Ares' love heal her broken heart and shattered soul and make her believe in love once again? ~ ~ ~ "It's not how I feel about you, but rather how I have never felt for anyone else. " ~ ~ ~ "I, Rowen, Alpha of the Hunter's Pack, reject Seraphina as my mate... " There was a pin drop silence in the hall as he proudly announced his rejection with a wide smile on his face. Pfft, this fool. Loud gasps filled the tensed air, as the most powerful person in this entire banquet came up behind me, wrapped his strong arms around my waist, and nestled his face in my neck. Shivers ran down my spine as I softly caressed his face. His authoritative stance and murderous eyes made everyone gulp in fear and shake in anticipation. "And I, Ares Maximilian Dacre, the Lycan King, claim Seraphina as my mate and promise to cherish and protect her, if anyone if so dares to look at her wrongly." His intense glare then fell on Rowen, who trembled pathetically. Oh how the tables turn!

Pretty Inside, Striking Eyes, and Crazy Feeling

Tears streamed down my face like an endless stream of river when I woke up, once again, in an unfamiliar surrounding.

What is up with me always fainting and waking up in strange rooms?

I sighed, my chest heavy with the vision I saw that led to me fainting, and a dull throb made its appearance known to me as I yanked the blankets off my body and stood up.

If that really was a future glimpse...

That man was probably Damien. With the same built and voice, but different situations. The Damien I have heard about and saw was so...formidable. How could he die like that?

My eyes became wet with tears once again as I let out a groan before harshly wiping the tears away.

The woman holding Damien had silver hair...like me. But he called her Clipse. But she looked like me. Ugh, I don't know anything.

I better hurry and tell them everything quickly. I will do each and everything in my capability to prevent the awful possible future.

What time is it anyway?

Glancing outside the window, I found that the sun was at the peak of rising.

Gosh, I really slept through the entire evening and night.

Noticing some clothes that seemed my size in the dresser, I showered and changed into a pretty pastel blue dress with see through puff sleeves.

My dead eyes sparkled once again as I put the pretty dress on me and turned to see myself in the tall mirror of the room.

The room was dark, but the rising sun cast its early light and reflected on the mirror, making it easier for me to see myself.

I stared deeply at the flowy material of the dress and how beautifully it complemented my figure. There was just something about this dress that made me feel...all fuzzy inside.

My next course of actions were fueled by my desire to look more pretty, as I picked up the beauty products lying on the table beside me.

It wasn't surprising that I hated seeing myself in the mirror. I hated seeing my broken reflection, never fading bruises, blood tainted skin, and a million scars.

While I looked pretty on the outside, whenever there was a need to put on a mask to keep up fake appearances to keep face, I have never felt beautiful.

And I was feeling like that now.

I recalled the times Aurelia would have her ginger hair in cute braids and dainty hairstyles, and tried to do the same on mine.

Keyword : tried.

Of course I had no idea how. For I never did anything to my hair except for brushing it and putting it up in a bun to avoid being pulled and dragged from it.

When I ended up tangling my hair even more, I let out a huff, gave up, and simply let it fall freely.

"Did you have a nice sleep?" Thump.

My heart skipped a beat as I hastily turned around to face the king, dropping the brush in the process.

"Yes, yes, I am up." ....What is this response?

Ugh, I am always embarrassing myself in front of him. My mind was empty, and mouth became dry as I looked at his glorious frame standing on the threshold of the room looking all dapper and breath stopping.

"Hi." I mentally face-palmed and screamed at my awkwardness.

I became so flustered around him, it wasn't even funny.

"Hi." He replied back, looking all handsome in his white button up and black pants. Drool worthy.

Ohmigosh, he replied back!

"Um....how are you..?" Someone please smack some confidence and elegance in me.

The corner of his lips twitched upwards and he stepped inside the room with his hands in his pockets.

"Good, good." He stood a couple of inches away from me and raised his arm to cup my cheek with his calloused palm.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

.....What is he doing?

"I am good too." I blurt out and before I could curse myself out, he softly caressed my cheek in an almost affectionate manner with his thumb, his usual dark deathly grey eyes, soft and light.

"Your eyes look more pretty when they are soft."

I almost didn't believe myself that those words actually came out of my mouth.

Seriously, where is all this unfiltered confidence coming from. When I wished about having confidence, I didn't mean this type!

He crinkled his eyes in amusement as his minuscule smile turned into a tiny one.

Wow, progress.

"Soft? What do you mean by that?"

I gulped down my impulsive thoughts, "Um, like, don't you know?"

"Please do tell." His eyes became lighter and clearer. The stormy clouds dispersed, becoming a gentle, silvery grey, reminiscent of moonlight on a tranquil lake.

His eyes, a striking shade of grey that changed shades with his emotions, like storm clouds at twilight, possessed an enigmatic depth that mirrored the complexity of his soul, entranced me by their unique beauty.

I took in a deep breath and let go of the reins controlling and restricting my feelings.

With him, I feel like I can be myself at ease. I didn't know where the blind trust was coming from, but if it's him...

"Your eyes are like a fiery, uncontrollable storm that destroys everything in its way, when they are dark, when you are, uhm, angry or um, in an all serious mood." Like now, his eyes turned into a shade darker, the growing sun rays reflecting beautifully in his eyes, as he seriously took in each and every word of mine. Listening to me attentively.

"And when you are in a good mood, like now I guess, they become all soft and light and clear like soothing moonlight, and they are prettier to look at, um, not like they aren't pretty when they are stormy- yeah."

I blabbered without a pause, throwing all the embarrassing warnings out of the window. His striking eyes pulled me in their depth and I could fill pages, writing down their beauty, and everything I loved about them.

His thumb caressing my cheek stopped, and I started to panic inside, wondering if I messed up or made him angry.

But his tiny smile was still there, and his amused expression turned into a soft calm one.

"Can I take it as you liking my eyes?"

My eyes widened, "No!"

His brow raised into a perfect arch as his amused eyes looking at me softly.

"I mean yes, like not as in I like like them but as in I like them in a pretty way."

F-ck, I give up, even I don't know what bullshit is coming out of my mouth.

As I was lost in my thoughts, I felt warmth on both my cheeks and snapped back to look into his eyes. His warm palms cupped my face, and I almost fainted again.

He was touching me!~

"What do I need to do in order for you to like like them?"
