Nanoah's Secret

Skyler and his saviors arrived at Corbin lands at dawn and he was welcomed by his father's friend Lucas as soon as they entered the castle.

"Why do we owe such a pleasant surprise to be visited by you" Lucas chuckled brightly, he was a thin but tall man with short black hair and a mustache that rested nicely above his lips stretching on both sides. He was a member of the Order's council and an advisor of King Corbin. He wore a big red robe that covered most of his features.

"I wish I could say I came to visit but that would not be the truth, I believe you know why I am here" Skyler said said after sharing a handshake with Lucas.

Lucas nodded his expression turned cold then he sighed with a smile. "You know, we have fought these monsters for decades even our ancestors have been through it but now it is different you know, the odds are stacked against us" He shacked his head in disappointment.

"Dardanos informed The Order?" Skyler asked as the two men walked along the corridor.

"Yes, we received word this morning about the boy and Your king's trial, he will be dethroned by the council"

"I know, what's there to rule anyway, Sinope is dead, everything in it" Skyler sighed.

"I heard, My deepest condolences to your king and yourself" Lucas patted Skyler's back softly. "The king will meet us shortly, while we wait I'd like to show you something"

The two men reached the library, it was an state of the art library but not as luxurious as Tolido but just as nice, the shelves were made out of dark oak wood and the shelves had books and few scrolls there and there, they walked in between the aisle while Lucas kept checking the dates for the book he was looking for until he finally spoke.

"Ah! Here it is, The book of tapestries, the good and the bad, the holy and the unholy Trinity" Lucas pulled out a big black book that was covered in dust and placed it on a table and cleared it out of the dust.

"Why is it called all that?" Skyler asked standing beside him.

"Because it tells the true stories of the blood suckers and our people, their ranks, tribes, cultures all that" Lucas answered and opened the book, the pages were brown or yellow like due to age. He flipped past many pages until he reached the one of vampires.

"There it is, Azcar, The forbidden lands, The forgotten palace, Galantia, The valley of desolation, The valley of the dead and so on. These are and were vampire populated lands, infact it was their lands, they never took it by force they owned it. The Vampire Tapestries."

"There's so many, were they so much?" Skyler asked.

Lucas chuckled "Too many, Hundreds and Thousands of them, the consumed and consumed to the point where the Eclipse came"

"Eclipse?"

"Its going to happen Skyler and there's so little we can do. I'd be surprised if we made it to the next winter" Lucas laughed a bright laugh and sighed closing the book. "The scrolls are not only to weaken them but they have the power to give them strength, once all three scrolls are together and the brothers, it is our doom"

"If we collect the scrolls before the eclipse can we prevent it?" Skyler asked.

"Not likely, you have to end them once and for all"

"You mean kill them?"

"Yes, there is not other way, we don't even know how they got out so what is the use of trying to seal them again?" Lucas shrugged.

The doors opened and King Corbin stepped in the room, he wore a feather brown coat and below it were a silver and gold armor, his hair was long black and reached his shoulders and right on his head sat his gold crown.

"So this is where you went off to, greetings young man" The king smiled at Skyler as he bowed in respect.

"My lord, thank you for allowing me in your home I am honored" Skyler replied still his head bent down.

"I too, you may rise my friend you are always welcome here, you are family" He chuckled and walked towards Skyler for a hug.

"Thank you My lord. I believe you have heard of what happened and what will happen" Skyler stood straight in front of the king, Lucas stood beside him.

"Oh yes indeed I heard, It is a shock to myself and the council too and what happened to sinope is very heartbreaking to us all and I am glad you survived the attack"

"I did my best My lord, I came here to seek guidance on how to end all this" Skyler replied.

"I wish we could help but as it is my soldiers are out there fighting what could be the end of us and coming back in ones and twos there is nothing here to help you" The king sighed.

"Where can I find the third scroll?" Skyler asked finally.

"The castle of Nanoah" Lucas answered, the two men stared at him.

"Nanoah?" Skyler asked.

"Yes, Ezra was buried with it when Nanoah belonged to king Argus before it fell to the hands of the vampires, They could not take Ezra to the valley so they sealed him with the scroll there"

"Wait! So if he is burried there, can't we destroy the scroll so that he dies with it?" Skyler snapped his fingers in delight.

"I'm afraid not, destroying the scrolls separately will create chaos although that is a good idea, if we bring the scrolls to Nanoah and destroy them there it could work" Lucas nodded to himself. "But here is the issue, the moment you enter Nanoah with the other scrolls Ezra will awaken"

"Seriously what is with your gods? Why would they make it such an obstacle to get in there?" Skyler shouted angrily walking back and forth.

"Skyler, they did it because they wanted to keep the evil from awakening them" The king replied.

The doors suddenly burst open and one of the guards hurried in the room.

"What's the meaning of this?" The king asked annoyed.

"I apologize my lord, but you have to see this, come outside" The guard replied after bowing.

The three men did not asl further they simply followed the guard outside the building.

It was dark, the clouds were dark and they formed a barrier right where the sun was, it turned the morning sun into a stormy like night in an instant when the men reached outside. There had been no sigh of storm or rain that week and clouds formed as if it would rain but there was not a single drop of rain or thunder or lightning it was just plain darkness.

"What in the gods is this?" The king asked in shock as he looked at the clouds.

"The scroll" Lucas replied him too looking at the clouds.

"What do you mean?" Sykyler asked.

"One of the scrolls has left its original hiding place, this is what happens when the scroll is taken" Lucas answered.

"How? Who could..." Evans came into Skyler's mind, of course He's the one who stole, that could be the possible reason.

"Skyler? Are you alright?" The king asked.

"Yes yes I am alright, Tell your men to be ready as soon as a human is spotted open the gates understood?" Skyler pointed at the large wooded gate.

"What are you saying Skyler?" The king asked.

"Just do it please My lord, I will tell you afterwards.

The king did as Skyler had requested and told the guards to do as Skyler said.

Not so long, two horses appeared from the dark mist west from where they were, they were heading their direction the horses had two figures on them and behind them the dark mist followed like it belonged to them...
