Luciana's POV
"Audrey, why are you doing this?" My voice trembled, barely audible in the cold, empty warehouse where I sat, bound to a chair. Every part of my body ached from the blows Audrey and her father's men had dealt me. I could feel the dried blood on my lips, the sharp sting with every shallow breath I took.
Audrey stood in front of me, her face a mask of bitterness. "It's you, Luciana. You should've stayed away. You should've never gotten involved with Jack," she spat, her words dripping with venom. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, and I could see the storm brewing within her. She was spiraling, trying to take control of things far beyond her reach.
I couldn't understand what Audrey meant by what she said. Why on earth would she want me to stay away from Jack. If it were to be Jennifer, I'd have understood. But not Audrey.
