More than One Way

"The principal and you were the ones who started saying that I was crippled. I couldn't talk that time so I wasn't able to correct it. This makes it not my fault, right?"

Seeing Mu Yue having a hard time on how to respond to her question, Xiao Yan just let her go.

"Don't worry as I don't blame you. I was almost always the one who is making the moves. It's normal for you to doubt me. Hell I might have done something more worse if I was you."

"Then do you still trust me?"

"Do you want me to be honest and also tell you the reasons?"

Mu Yue felt that Xiao Yan became serious all of a sudden. Since she was the one who asked, she will prepare herself even if it will hurt her own feelings.

"I trusted you to some extent but that's it. I never fully trusted others except for my close relatives, which is my family. Even you who I still did not know much. Yes, you also don't know much about me but I made it like that. You can hate me for being like this but this is how I act." Xiao Yan bluntly said.

"I understand… I was almost the same so I should not blame you. A random girl that is also an orphan… getting closer to a noble like you… yes… I might bring bad intentions don't I?" Mu Yue prepared herself but she still got mad by it.

She was just an orphan, and if she did not get lucky to meet her master, she might have been dead already. Xiao Yan being with her was a huge help. She never knew auctions exist. "There are more?! Alright… I'll listen." Mu Yue was already mad so hearing more as early as possible would be better. At least she can be angry just once.

Xiao Yan was amused. She purposely made Mu Yue mad since extreme emotions sometimes make someone tell the truth. She was delighted with this little experiment.

And again, Mu Yue showing some other kinds of emotion was rare. Xiao Yan gently wiped Mu Yue's tears. She faced her while they were lying on the bed.

"If you broke my trust, I'll make sure you will never leave my side again. I'll do everything to have you beside me. Even if that will hurt you. I'm quite possessive of you. Don't try it as I know you won't like it."
