Chapter 38: The Good Earth
Ophelia's POV
"It's Mark. I don't even know if I should answer it," Lilac stated, looking down at where her phone was buzzing on the table.
"Answer it, please, I really think you should see him again," Ophelia encouraged.
"Who is Mark?" Cricket asked.
"Just answer it," Ophelia pushed. She would answer Cricket in a moment.
"Fine," Lilac huffed. She picked up her phone and turned from the table.
"Mark is some guy my parents tried to set me up with. It didn't work out, obviously, but he and Lilac really seemed to hit it off," Ophelia explained to Cricket.
"Why would she want your rejects," Cricket scoffed.
"I don't think it was like that. I think they just had a much more genuine connection. Sometimes that just happens," Ophelia shrugged.
"I would never date someone who asked me out just because they got rejected by one of my friends." Cricket rolled her eyes dramatically.
