The Eunuch And His Bird

Su Yan smiled brightly at his boyfriend and snuggled up against his chest. "Ah Chang, since we're such a harmonious couple without any problems at all it's really hard coming up with another five reasons, isn't it? I really can't think of anything. Do you remember if anyone ever told you why they broke up? Like what's with Old Lao and Gong Gong? Why did their boyfriends' break up with them?"

"Their …" Nie Chang raised his brows and rubbed his forehead. He definitely couldn't let this go on, could he? "Darling, they're not gay. They didn't have any boyfriends. They're only interested in women."

"Hah? Even Gong Gong?"

"E—" Nie Chang had wanted to nod along and confirm when he noticed something strange. "What do you mean 'even Gong Gong'? Why shouldn't Gong Gong be into women?"

Su Yan blinked. "Well, he's a eunuch. What would he do with a woman? Isn't that sad?"

"That …" Nie Chang looked up at the sky. Thankfully, they were outside today and not in the repair shop where Gong Gong might be in earshot. "Darling, you wouldn't think that Gong Gong is really a eunuch, would you? Didn't I tell you that he just played one in some old game?"

Su Yan raised his brows in a pitying gesture as if the one who had to doubt his boyfriend's IQ was him again. "Ah Chang, do you honestly believe he would play a eunuch if he didn't have some kind of problem? Even if he still has all parts, he probably can't use it or something."

Nie Chang didn't bother to ask just what Su Yan thought Gong Gong couldn't use. It was painfully obvious just what his little darling would tell him then and he really was afraid that he wouldn't be able to keep a straight face this time. Thus he could only put his hands on Su Yan's shoulders and look at him earnestly. "Ah Yan, whatever you think is wrong with Gong Gong please do me the favor to never mention it in front of him, yes? It might hurt him deeply."

Su Yan nodded back just as earnestly. "Of course, I won't! Even though we're a couple, you can't just forget that I'm a man myself! I also wouldn't want people to talk about it if my bird wasn't working."

Nie Chang closed his eyes and took a deep breath. There it was. If he let him continue on, then the next person to pass them might have to hear the sentence 'The eunuch in your repair shop can't use his bird'. He definitely didn't want that! There was only one thing he could do now: Use a diversionary tactic!

He opened his eyes again, motioned at the phone and smiled noncommittally as if he hadn't heard anything about eunuchs and birds at all. "How about someone like Yuan Hai?"

"Yuan Hai?" Su Yan frowned. "I don't think that's a good idea."

"Why not? I think a less perfect couple than us might get into trouble with someone like that around."

Su Yan pursed his lips. "Well, that cold-faced CEO-type is really popular right now, isn't it?"

"Mn." Nie Chang nodded, inwardly congratulating himself. It seemed his tactic had worked. At least now his little darling wasn't thinking about Gong Go—

"But do you really think Gong Gong would like him? I mean I don't know him very well but he doesn't seem to be into that type of person. Yuan Hai is probably very demanding and doesn't like to talk. So he'd be a lot of work without anything to make up for it besides money. I can't believe that would make Gong Gong happy. He seems really easy-going so he'd probably rather have someone more likable as his boyfriend. Eh, come to think of it, what do you think about Old Lao? Don't you think he would be a much better match for Gong Gong than Yuan Hai?"

Nie Chang nodded mechanically. Actually, he didn't even know how they had come to talk about this. Hadn't he only tried to give his little darling a new idea and something to think about when he tossed out Yuan Hai's name? Why were they discussing now who would make a good boyfriend for Gong Gong?

Su Yan was satisfied when his boyfriend seemingly confirmed his opinion. "We should help those two realize their feelings!"

Nie Chang coughed and hurriedly intervened. He definitely couldn't let Su Yan return to the shop next week and try to set up Gong Gong and Old Lao. He had to prevent this at any cost! "Darling, before that … shouldn't we solve our own problems first? What about our house? And our dog? There are still five more slots on the list. Actually, I meant a third person could be a reason for a break-up too."

Su Yan looked up at him and blinked. "Ah Chang, I think this would make a very good plot for a novel. Do you think Gong Gong could be pressed for money?"

"Uh … Maybe?"

"Then Yuan Hai must be blackmailing him!"

"He …" Nie Chang stopped and shook his head. "Darling, this doesn't make any sense. Why would Yuan Hai blackmail Gong Gong?"

"So that he leaves Old Lao and gets together with him, of course! He's a cold-faced CEO, an iceberg! He doesn't know what true love is yet. He'll have to find out after he gets together with Gong Gong."

"Oh." Nie Chang refrained from saying anything else. If he did, he might get his employee into even more trouble. Well, he wouldn't mind if Yuan Hai was out of the picture of his own relationship even though he was sure that he didn't really need to worry about him. After all, with Su Yan's way of thinking … Especially after tomorrow, every other man would probably be out of the picture for the rest of his life. Mn, not too bad. He should probably send his mother-in-law some flowers for raising her son this well.

Mn ... *looks at clock* Yup, it's time to be shameless again :D
