A girl lay on her bed, hearing a familiar voice calling out to her, "Samra beta... Samra beta... Come downstairs." Startled, she quickly sat up.
"Oh no... it's been so long... I haven't given Bibi Jan her medicine yet," she muttered, rushing to freshen up before hurrying downstairs. As she descended, she bumped into someone.
"Oh, you crazy drama queen... where are you rushing off to... be careful... if you fall, I'll be the one to pick you up,sooo please don't fall ok" he joked with a smile, and she placed her hand on her hip, looking at him.
"Oh please... your hand will break, you monkey... if you try to pick me up... now move aside... it's time for Bibi Jan's medicine... I'm already late," she said, pushing past him.
"Alright, alright... the heartbeat of Bibi Jan... without you, Bibi Jan's blood pressure drops," Arsal teased, making a funny face.
"Then why are you getting jealous?" she smirked, continuing towards the kitchen.
"Assalamu Alaikum, bri Ami " she greeted Mona Bagum with a smile, hugging her from behind.
"You're awake, my daughter... come, quickly give Bibi Jan her breakfast," Mona Bagum said lovingly.
"What... she hasn't had breakfast yet?" Samra asked in shock.
"You know her... she's as stubborn as a child... insisting that only my ladoo will serve her breakfast today," Mona Bagum explained with a smile.
"You should have woken me up earlier... let me take it... I'll go," she said, taking the tray and heading to Bibi Sahab's room.
Entering, she saw Bibi Jan engrossed in her tasbeeh.
"Assalamu Alaikum, Bibi Jan," she greeted, placing the tray on the table and hugging her tightly.
"My dear... my ladoo... how are you... you took so long today," Bibi Sahab said lovingly.
"What's this, Bibi Jan... you haven't had breakfast yet... today is Sunday... so I woke up a little late..." Samra said, sounding offended.
"What can I do... I love having breakfast made by my ladoo's hands," Bibi Sahab explained with a smile, and Samra shook her head.
"Oh, so what will you do when I'm not here... you always say that you just want me to become a bride," Samra teased, and then they heard Arsal's voice.
"Have you married someone who's the one poor guy you going to hang ?" he joked, sitting on the sofa.
"See, Bibi Sahab... he always teases me like this," Samra complained, and Bibi Sahab glared at him.
"Hey, you... if you tease my ladoo, I'll beat you with shoes," Bibi Sahab threatened, and he made a face before leaving.
Later that night, they all sat at the dining table, enjoying dinner.
"And kids... how's your studies going?" Ahmad Sahab asked.
"Okay, Dad... but now I need to apply for specialization in London..." Arsal quickly replied.
"No need for that... there are plenty of colleges in Pakistan too... just look at your mother's condition... she keeps remembering her eldest son," Ahmad Sahab remarked.
"But baba... bro had also gone before... no one said anything then," Arsal interjected.
"Yes... but now the situation is different... ever since Sinan shifted to Dubai... he came back after 2 years... and now we're sending each other away too... so that both sides long for each other," Ahmad Sahab explained.
"But baba, there's a lot of work there... and we talk every day on Skype," Arsal reasoned.
"The decision has been made... you're not going," Ahmad said firmly, standing up and rushing outside. Samra looked at him with concern and lowered her head.
After dinner samra went to ahmad sahab room .... She knock at the door ....
" Come in " ahmad sahab replied.
" Woh Bree baba ... I want to discuss something with you " she said while playing with her finger in nervousness
" I knew what you want to discuss ... Samra beta ... You knew your bri Ami condition " ahmad sahab said in worried tone .
" I knew Bree baba .. but it's his dream too " samra sit and said quickly ...
" Your bri Ami can't bare this pain ... Samra ... He is still hurt on sinaan decision.. and you are saying this " ahmad sahab said .
"Why did you stop him? If she endured separation for the happiness of one son, she can endure it for the other too,"samra said, worried.
" But how can I " ahmad sahab didn't complete his sentence when she cut her
"But Bree bB.. specializing in London... it's his dream... please don't stop him," Samra pleaded, but he remained silent.
After sometime Samra was making coffee for herself in the kitchen when Mona Bagum entered.
"Samra... have you seen him?" Mona Bagum asked, sounding worried.
"No, bri ami... he's not opening the door right now... don't worry... I'll try again," she reassured with a smile.
"Dear... talk to him... don't argue with him in anger... it might make him upset... I'll convince him... he listens to everything you say... talk to him," Mona Bagum said lovingly.
"Don't worry... I'll talk to him now," she said and went towards his room, knocking on the door.
"Arsal, open the door... I've been knocking for so long," she said while banging on the door.
"Just go, Samra... don't mess with my head," he replied rudely.
"Arsal... I'm not leaving until you open the door... you know me," she said, and he opened the door in anger.
"What is it?" he asked rudely.
"Move aside... what rudeness is this, Arsal... close the door... you get angry and think you're more important than anyone else," she pushed him away from the door and sat on the bed, asking. He glared at her while standing at the head of the bed.
"Does anyone in this house value me at all? When I sacrifice everything for everyone... when it's everyone else's dreams that are fulfilled... and when it's my turn, everyone earns a Ph.D. in emotional blackmailing," he said and sat beside her.
"Arsal... why do you get angry over small things... I and brii Ami will talk to dad... he'll agree... he gets upset with you... if you stay away from home for even a day... they love you so much... that's why they're not letting you go," Samra said politely.
"That's right... that's why they insult me all the time," he rolled his eyes.
"Now, please improve your mood... and let's go downstairs," Samra said, grabbing his hand.
"I'm not in the mood..." he said, making a face, and she punched his arm.
"At least let's go to the terrace... can you agree to that much?" she said, and he nodded.
They were sitting on the terrace now, eating chips with coffee and talking to each other.
"You'll see... after specializing from there, I'll become a famous surgeon," Arsal said with a smile.
"Monkey... why did bro leave for Dubai? We used to have so much fun together," Samra said.
"Yeah... I miss him too," Arsal agreed.
"Hey, what do you think... is everything okay between Hayaa and bro?" she asked.
"I don't know... I haven't noticed... and why do you care about their personal life?" Arsal teased, slapping her arm.
"No... I am just saying... it's been 3 years since bro shifted to Dubai... time flies... mom really misses him," she said in a serious tone.
" But... bro wanted to start his own business... and look... he's managing both the hospital and the business so well there... it's his dream," Arsal said.
"Hmm... that's why bri Ami didn't say anything either... otherwise, she really didn't want bro to go to Dubai... how much things have changed, right?" Samra said in a serious tone.
"Hmm, and you... you've become quite the emotional drama queen... now you even help with the household chores... getting boring... what do you say... should I find a new best friend?" he teased, lightly slapping her arm.
"Think about it... I might just agree... and please, control your hands a bit... by the way, do you know bro already told dad about our marriage?" Samra said.
"Samra... I've told you so many times not to bring up this topic with me... we both have decided... after our studies, we'll get a divorce... I have so many dreams... and you know... my biggest dream is to specialize in the London Medical School," Arsal said.
"Hmm, I know..." she said with teary eyes.
"But Arsal... but the decision for divorce is only yours... not mine... I don't want you to divorce me... I want us to give this relationship a chance," Samra's voice cut in between.
"Samra, are you mad... how can you be so selfish... you know I'm going to propose to Aliya in a few months," Arsal said.
"But Arsal... we are married," Samra said.
"That marriage has messed up both of our minds... neither are you happy with it nor am I... so then what's the point of giving it another chance?" he said.
"But Arsal... I'm happy," she was saying when Arsal interrupted again.
"Just forget it... I don't think you're the same Samra anymore... I don't want to talk to you... and anyway, no one remembers that marriage anymore... even dad has forgotten... it's been 3 years since that happened," Arsal said and left from there... Samra was looking at his back with teary eyes... she sat on the floor.
"Arsal... I'm happy... I'm very happy... Allah has bound you to me in the relationship of marriage... I won't let it end... I'll tell you that I love you," she said and wiped her tears.

"Why not call for a Nikah... You both seem eager to wander alone together... Now, I'll provide you with that reason," the Sardar said, looking at them and gesturing to his associate. The man nodded and left.
"What are you saying... We won't do anything like that," Arsal said angrily, but the Sardar signaled his other associate, who then placed a gun to Samra's head.
"What are you doing... Let her go now," Arsal said, his anger turning into desperation.
"Let me go... Arsal, call the police... We'll complain to the police," Samra said, trembling with fear.
"The police... They are already here with us... They've come to make their decision," the Sardar said with a smirk. Within moments, the Nikah was performed.
"We won't do this Nikah... Understand, all of you," Arsal said angrily.
"If you don't agree... We'll kill your beloved right here," the Sardar delivered his final verdict, and Arsal relented.
Their Nikah was done, and afterward, they were escorted towards the college van.
Flashback end
Samra was crying ...
" arsal ... I don't want this ...I loved you ... I loved you sooo much ... How can I tell you .. I don't want to loss our friendship too .... Yaa Allah please help me to deal with this situation" samra said during crying .
But she didn't know that her heart would break into pieces.
The next day, she woke up and went to Bibi Sahab's room to give her medicine... then she went to the kitchen to help Mona Bagum.
"My dear... one or two days off would do you good... rest a little," Mona Bagum said lovingly.
"No, brii ami.. I'm used to waking up early now... okay, let me check on Arsal... Baba was calling him," she said and went to Arsal's room... she opened his room and went inside.
"This boy never keeps his things in order," she murmured and started tidying his room... she grabbed his laptop and was about to put it on the table when she saw the chatbox open... she started reading the messages... which he had sent to Aliya...
"Stop snooping on me... you'll feel at peace now," he said in a sleepy voice, and she put the laptop on the table and turned toward him.
"I have no interest in spying on you... I just saw the chatbox open and thought I should close it... if Bree baba reads it... then what?" Samra left the sentence incomplete... and he made a face and sat on the bed.
