He walked out of the restaurant and disappeared into his car.
Lu Chenjun didn't want to bring his negative emotions to the dinner so he decided to go grab a quick drink.
Lu Chenjun completely quit smoking, so when he was stressed or unhappy, he would occasionally go out for a drink.
He walked into a bar and furrowed his eyebrows when he was met with the loud noise and the blinding lights.
Lu Chenjun checked his watch and decided on only having one quick drink before leaving. He pulled out his phone and called a taxi.
"Hello, I am at the Xinjiu Bar right now. Can you come and pick me up in about 20 minutes?"
Lu Chenjun couldn't drive after drinking, but he didn't want Fang Shi to come over as he was afraid that might interfere with the setup at the restaurant.
At the moment, Lu Chenjun hated Chu Hua with a passion. Most people's IQ would increase as they get older, but that wasn't the case for Chu Hua. In these nine years, her IQ and EQ all decreased.
Lu Chenjun walked over to a table and sat down, extracting coquettish looks from several women in the bar.
He called a bartender over and ordered a non-alcoholic drink. His thought process was that if he was going to kiss Elena, he didn't want her to taste or smell any alcohol.
The bartender took an unusually long time to make the drink, and when he walked over to Lu Chenjun, he didn't even make eye contact with him.
"Thank you," Lu Chenjun said as he picked up the crimson red drink.
The bartender glanced up at Lu Chenjun's face and he pursed his lips together before quickly walking away.
Lu Chenjun pulled out his phone and looked at the picture again while taking a sip from his drink.
Zhang Bing's hands were holding Elena, but her arms were awkwardly positioned in the air. That could suggest that Zhang Bing was the one who took the initiative.
He closed his phone and took another sip.
Another sip. . .
One more. . .
A large gulp. . .
Lu Chenjun felt a piercing pain in his head and he immediately put his hand up to put pressure on the area. He looked up from the table and saw the bartender staring at him.
The world in front of him started tilting until it broke into a spin, turning upside-down. He felt his eyelids getting heavy and he couldn't think clearly anymore.
Lu Chenjun used the last bit of his strength to try and stand up before he blacked out and his head hit the cold, hard table.
His hand accidentally pushed the drink and the glass shattered into pieces on the ground, the contents spilling out like blood.
Chu Hua just received a call from Su Yan's assistant, saying that Lu Chenjun was at a bar. Although she was confused about how Su Yan found out who her boyfriend was, she didn't bother to ask.
Su Yan proposed a plan, a dangerous and despicable plan. It was commonly seen in the entertainment industry.
'Spike his drink'.
At first, Chu Hua refused, keeping her last thread of pride and self-respect. However, under Su Yan's pressure, she broke in, agreeing to her lowly methods.
During the car ride to the bar, Chu Hua's mind was in a fierce battle. She looked down at the tiny white package with an unnoticeable white powder inside.
She opened the package several times and almost threw it out of the car. However, the devil inside her stopped her every single time.
Chu Hua closed the white package and paid the driver before stepping out of the taxi. This was going to be the last time.
After the few interactions with Su Yan, Chu Hua noticed the dangerous audacity she had. Maybe that was the reason for her success. Or, maybe her success was what caused her to develop this trait.
Either way, Chu Hua didn't want to mingle with her anymore. Su Yan was dangerous and toxic, and she was well-disguised. It was best not to work with people like Su Yan.
Chu Hua clutched the package tight in her hand as she walked into the bar. The music was so loud that Chu Hua wondered how the walls and the doors were able to block the sound from outside the bar.
The rotating disco ball and the few spotlights were the only sources of illumination in the dark building.
Chu Hua walked forward a few steps and she immediately located Lu Chenjun dressed in a completely black suit, his long legs casually hanging off the chair.
She walked along the walls of the building, carefully checking Lu Chenjun once in a while to make sure he didn't notice her.
After circling around half the building, Chu Hua reached the other side of the long table and watched as Lu Chenjun ordered a drink.
Chu Hua reached into her bag and pulled out the small white package. She bit her lips and narrowed her eyes, still unsure about whether she should do it or not.
The powder inside was a powerful sleeping drug that caused the consumer to pass out from just one tablespoon of the medicine.
Chu Hua knew she didn't have much time, so she made up her mind and called the male bartender over.
"Hello," she said slyly.
Chu Hua has never done something this dangerous before, so she was a little awkward and uncomfortable.
"Can you help me with something?"
The worker nodded, "Yes."
"What did that guy over there order?"
The worker furrowed his brows but still responded, "He ordered a non-alcoholic pomegranate mojito mocktail."
Chu Hua nodded and cleared her throat, "Can you help me put this inside his drink."
She held up the small package and put on her most pitiful expression.
The worker's face darkened, "Miss, what is that?"
Chu Hua's gaze quivered, "It's powdered sugar."
"I'm sorry, I can't do that for you."
The bartender turned around to leave but Chu Hua quickly grabbed his arm, "Okay, I'm lying. This isn't powdered sugar. It's just a sleeping medicine, but please help me."
She quickly wracked her brain for an excuse, "He's my husband. Recently, he has been coming to this bar to seduce women and sleep with them."
Chu Hua wiped away some fake tears, "I'm pregnant, and I don't want this to happen again. So, I have to stop him today. Please help me."
She looked so pitiful the bartender believed her. He grabbed the package and smelled the contents. It was indeed a medicine, but he couldn't tell what type of medicine it was.
"Okay, I'll help you. But, if something happens, you can't tell him I did it."
Chu Hua nodded and thanked the bartender over and over again. This was her last chance.
Chu Hua watched as the bartender poured all of the powder into the cup and mixed it well so it all dissolved.
The bartender glanced at Chu Hua and questioned her with his eyes. Chu Hua nodded and put on a pitiful expression again.
The worker walked over to Lu Chenjun and handed him the glass.
Chu Hua watched Lu Chenjun take one sip after another until finally, he fainted.
