Chu Hua walked away from the window after the car was completely gone with a smile on her face.
For a while, Elena drove in circles as she thought about where she could go. She really only had one place to go to.
Elena parked her car in the underground parking lot and took her luggage out of the car. She struggled as she carried all of the luggage into the elevator and clicked on the floor level.
She stared blankly at the elevator door, hating herself and hating Lu Chenjun. When the door clicked open, it took her some time to realize that she had arrived on her floor.
The room wasn't far away and Elena rang the doorbell twice before the door was opened.
"Elena, what are you doing here?"
At the sight of Mila, Elena immediately dropped all of her luggage and flung her arms around Mila.
Mila stumbled backwards at the sudden attack, and she awkwardly held her arms up, unsure of where to put them.
"What's wrong?" Mila asked when she felt her neck getting moist. Was Elena crying?
Mila walked towards the door with Elena still hanging from her neck and pulled all of the bags into the room.
After Elena had calmed down, Mila asked her again, "Is anything wrong? Why are you here?"
Elena hugged herself with her arms as she looked up at Mila. However, before she could say anything, Mila widened her eyes and started screaming.
"Did someone bully you? Is it Mr. Lu? Stupid, does he think that he can just bully anyone since he is rich? Don't worry. I'll go beat him up for you. Screw him!"
Elena immediately stopped crying as she watched Mila point at the air and throw punches at nobody.
She smiled and pulled Mila back down onto the couch, "Mila, I think I made a terrible mistake."
Elena paused and bit her lips, "I think I am in love with Lu Chenjun."
Elena opened her mouth again to explain, but she immediately got cut off by Mila.
"You what?! Tell me you're lying."
Elena shook her head sheepishly.
"Out of everyone, why him? There is no way you are going to have a good result with him."
Elena nodded, "I know, I know. But what can I do? I tell myself not to like him everyday. He sucks, he is not romantic, he is horrible at coaxing girls, and he can't cook. There is nothing good about him. Plus, his first love is back now, and there is no way he is ever going to like me now."
This was the first time Elena was feeling like this. When she was young, she focused on her studies so she could impress her parents, and she didn't have time to go around liking cute guys in her school.
When she became a trainee, she spent every day either practicing, eating, or sleeping. Plus, dating was prohibited, so there was zero chance that she would even like a boy.
Now, finally, Elena had the feeling of love, but it was destined to be an unhappy ending.
Mila furrowed her brows, "First love? But didn't he go out and eat with some random girl on Valentine's Day. That shows his first love isn't even that important."
Elena took a deep breath and told Mila everything that happened from beginning to end.
Mila listened intently as if she was watching a drama, and she had the most sarcastic reactions throughout the story.
Finally, when Elena finished, Mila jumped up from the couch and threw her pillow at the ground.
"What a horrible person! That stupid Chu Hua and also Mr. Lu. Chu Hua literally acts like a stupid white lotus in Chinese romance dramas."
Mila sighed sarcastically and shook her head, "I feel bad for Mr. Lu for meeting a person like Chu Hua, but I also think that he is quite stupid. Why would he date Chu Hua in the first place? Even if it was nine years ago."
Elena pulled Mila back down and played around with her hand.
She looked down and said quietly, "But I don't want to just give up."
This was Elena's first love. Even if it was certain that they wouldn't end happily, she still wanted to try.
Whenever Elena watched dramas with Mila, she would always hate those female characters that just give up when they haven't even tried. Like get a hold of yourself!
Elena was stupid five years ago. She gave up right away after getting kicked out of her house and left without even trying to clear her name. She backed down without a fight, giving in to her sister. She wouldn't let that happen again.
Mila thought for a second and moved in closer to Elena, "Did he break up with you yet?"
"Not yet."
Mila's eyes dimmed as she sighed, "Promise me that if he asks you to break up, you will give up, okay?"
Elena nodded, "I still have some pride left."
Mila looked up at the ceiling, "Well, what are you going to do?"
Elena forced a smile and said with a calm strength in her voice, "I have an idea. Original plan, I will make lunch for him tomorrow. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Mila, have you ever liked a man before?"
Mila laughed at Elena's question as if it was a joke, "Excuse me, missy. My fingers on both hands are not enough to count the number of people I had a crush on before. Maybe add the toes on one foot too."
Elena shook her head disapprovingly, "I feel bad for all those people."
That night, Elena slept on the same bed with Mila as she heard Mila tell her every single story of the past guys she liked before.
Every single story started off with, 'That guy was so cute!'
Before long, Elena fell asleep as the stories were getting repetitive.
Mila looked at the girl sleeping next to her with pity in her eyes. Life hasn't been easy on her. Her family betrayed her for something she didn't do. Will her first love betray her too?
