Meeting the Danger

The summer air hit me right on spot that I remembered my revenge plan. It was almost ten in the evening, what they got below the deck is some famous band which I don't think can solely hype up the crowd. I went down to the cabin to change out of this skimpy dress. I purposefully forgot my phone in the duffel bag. When I opened the phone, I got like 30 missed calls from Jason, 2 from mum and 50 from Alfie. Alfie must be stressed out and I almost thought that he's the one who cared the most for me until I realized how he just loved his job at the agency. Jason would just forgive me anyway.

I got a text from a friend of mine that everything was all set up. I had no more time left so I just put on a black leather skirt over my dress and a black bomber jacket. I tied my hair to a bun, put on a cap and a pair of dark sunglasses.

I went to the main deck to met up my friend who had set up the DJ equipment. Luckily, he was also invited. The equipment was just in the boat for many years which I usually use to do this kind of act in every party. Fortunately, mum never caught me since my brother would tell her that he hired them.

Meeting his high-five in the air, I hugged him. "Thanks, bro!"

"You're welcome as long as H won't catch us!"

"They aren't gonna know!"

"They're gonna know!"

"No! Just leave it to me!"

"Hell, yeah! This party is reaching its maximum level of boredom, so we really need it. If not for the girls, I won't be here!"

My DJ act is the actual highlight of every party of mum's. It's what created buzz in the media the next morning and people secretly waiting for it without having mum realizing it. Mum's an old school thus she never liked it. So we set it up in the middle of the party, to hide it from her.

I connected my hard drive, adjusted the mixer and the controllers.

My good friend also paid the event planner to set-up the lights and sounds for the disco party assuring them that Jason requested for it, then everything would follow. Jason, annoyed and at the same time favoring it, openly takes the fall every time.

I took the mic out and changing my voice into deep male one in the mixer. My friend finally joined me after changing into his casual attire. With a nod, we started.

"Ladies and gentlemen…." Echoed throughout the yacht and the crowd started to lit up, letting out approval sounds, and the lights went out one by one until only the DJ area is lighted.

"DJ Wild and DJ Hunter are here to make your night fiiiiiiireeeee!" And the disco laser lights started to turn on and the first big beat is dropped. Everybody shouted in excitement especially the younger ones.

Our first track made everybody wild and crazy. Then, I saw mum under the red lights whispering to Jason. Few moments after, Jason appeared beside me.

I was busy arranging the tracks and mixing them up, when he grabbed my arm.

"Seriously, Artemis!" I found a hint of both disbelief and disappointment on his face.

I hugged him tight and whispered to him, "I love you bro! Say hi to Gregory for me! You always got my back, right?"

"Where were you the whole time? You got me worried!" He was shouting since the music from the speakers was blasting.

"Around," I shouted back as I take off my headphones.

"Can you not do it this time? This is not about mum! I have an important guest!"

I thought he was really angry this time not until I saw Gregory in the middle of the crowd loosening up and enjoying himself with all the girls wrapping themselves around him.

"Oh yeah? I think he's having a great time!" I held up his chin and turned it towards Gregory. He just laughed and shook his head.

"Okay! You better get it right!" He went away to pacify mum.

Other guests were relaxing at the lounge area and sheltered exterior deck, while others were drunk enough and went home. It's almost midnight and the party will end but there are still dancing on the floor especially the models from the agency. They are drunk but not wasted enough. They knew better than to behave badly at my mum's party.

The guests started to leave one by one, thanking H along the way. I told my friend that I had to change before my mum found out about me and left him for the last track of the night.

I entered the private cabin to change in the dark when suddenly the door opened and two people entered, dragging themselves on the wall and dropping things along the way. They were obviously making out and not truly surprised, I intended to leave without them noticing. Not until the other one found the switch and turned the lights on. A half-naked guy was facing me and caught me red-handed stuffing my jacket inside the duffel bag. The almost naked woman felt that the guy stopped halfway on their love making. "What's wrong, babe?"

Then, the woman slowly turned to me, her ruffled hair covering her face, immediately pulled up her hot pink dress to cover her breast.

"Oh, shit," she muttered.

I finished stuffing the jacket into the bag. "Oh, don't mind me. I am leaving. Uhmmm… you may continue," I said awkwardly and left.

I was running out the cabin and when it suddenly hit me that the guy was Gregory. Hah! That guy!
