"No screaming," he repeated again, narrowing his eyes. "If you do, I won't be afraid to tape your mouth."
He nodded slowly, believing her. The last thing he wanted was not to scream when he needed to.
He took his hand away from his mouth, but with his other hand he slammed it against the wall. He didn't take his eyes off her, waiting for her to say something.
"Now, my name is Richard, and you're going to tell me what I want to know. Let's start with your name."
She grit her teeth, hoping that her immediate obedience would buy her some time. "Alex"
Alex glanced quickly around the room, wondering where he had placed his mace. He frowned when he saw the TV stand to his right. Why had he decided to take a bath again? What made him think this was a brilliant idea?
"You're going to tell me what you saw, Alex. I want every detail about what happened at the slaughterhouse." Richard smiled at her, but it seemed forced.
Alex shook his head quickly as he reached out his free hand and grabbed his mace. He wrapped his fingers around the gun and ran his finger over the trigger.
But the faster he thought it was, the faster it was. Richard's hand grabbed hers, turned it slightly, and forced his hand to fall open. Gürz fell to the ground and pulled his hands up and pinned them to the wall above his head.
He took a sharp breath, almost growling at her in frustration. He took a breath, amazed at how he did all this with one hand, and his other hand was still free. She was frightened but shocked by the amount of power she had.
"I won't be fooled by this again."
He swallowed once more, looking into her hard eyes. He looked pissed off as if it was someone else's business.
Richard leaned closer and Alex tried to sit back. Then he sniffed it. He wasn't sure how to take it, and he watched her eyes study him. He hated the fact that he was caught in nothing but a towel.
He moistened his lips before trying to speak, hoping it sounded more daring than he was feeling now.
"Are you here to kill me?" His voice was shaking and he hated it. He cursed himself for not being able to raise his voice without fear.
Richard squinted his eyes at her and leaned back slightly. "It totally depends on you and what you share with me."
"Depends on what I'm sharing with you?" she repeated, wanting to make sure she heard him right.
Confirmed. "Yeah, I have a lot of questions and you're going to answer them one way or another. So let's try to make it easy, shall we? Just cooperate and everything will be fine."
He wondered if this was a lie he told everyone to get them to answer questions. Maybe that's what he said, so people spilled everything before they were killed.
"But if you're going to get me in trouble, one way or another, I'll get information from you." Richard seemed to be waiting for her to reply, but he didn't know what to say.
He tried to adjust his hand on the towel, feeling sweaty as he looked at her.
He cleared his throat, now he knew he was going to come out of the high pitch. "Can I get dressed please?"
Richard sharply. "Two minutes."
He ran to the bathroom and slammed the door. What did he get himself into?
Alex took his clothes and wore them wildly. After getting dressed, she put her hair in a ponytail and looked at herself in the mirror. His face was still red, and he wasn't sure if he would ever leave this room again. But then suddenly he heard a tap on the bathroom door. Richard cleared his throat. "It's been three minutes."
"Are you timing with me?" she snapped, grabbing the doorknob. He opened the door and looked at her. "I'm sorry that my desire for humility is an inconvenience to you."
He sighed, rubbing his eyes. As embarrassed as he was, it seemed like it was already past. He didn't know if it was because he was a gentleman or if it was just an ass. "Now will you let me sit down and ask the questions?"
He didn't need to argue and sat on the edge of the bed. She crossed her arms and legs before looking at him, ready to answer questions.
"Why were you at the place where the body was found?"
He shrugged. "I went there to get away from people. I wasn't exactly in the area where the body was found. I went there just because I heard someone screaming."
"When?"
"I think it's a little past three. I don't remember; my class was a little late that day." He was trying to organize his thoughts as he answered. What to say and what not to say. One thing was for sure, he wouldn't mention that there was a wolf after him, because the wolf would laugh at him like a cop. She wasn't sure she could handle this hot man who had somehow found her heart from laughing at her.
"What did the attackers look like?"
He shrugged once again. "I don't remember how they looked. I can tell you what happened."
"Do it," he said, waiting.
Not wanting to lie, Alex told the story as best he could. He didn't think he could do it, even if he tried. He had that look in his eyes that made him feel like he could see into his soul and understand when he wasn't telling the truth.
"Was there a gun?"
"They were using crowbars."
"Any other weapons?" he said, looking bored again.
"Like a gun?"
"Yes."
"Not that I saw it. But that doesn't mean it didn't happen at all. I just saw the end and I was too scared to walk around. I..." He stopped himself. He could have told her he had a photo of her, but the photo had been destroyed, so what good would that do?
"What am I?" she asked, looking at him with narrowed eyes. "You said you were too scared to walk around, so what did you do?"
"I ran," he said. "I ran, so I don't remember much to be honest. It all went by so quickly. I went to the police station, that's all."
"Do you remember their faces?"
