Control

Colby jumps back to the lower level of Eydis' house. It is empty, just as he left it a few minutes ago when he teleported with the last group. He is exhausted, his head is pounding and his whole body is aching, but he cannot rest yet.

'Where is she?'

He rushes up the stairs and looks around, to make sure there was nobody left behind. He turns around when he hears fast steps descending from the second floor.

"Kirja." He says with relief. "Where have you been?"

"In my room." She beams. "I know what Siv needs to do to merge." Kirja walks past him, nonchalant. "Where is Siv? I need to tell her." She rushes to the front doors, but Colby pulls her back from her waist and presses her against the wall. She yelps.

"Kirja." He yells.

"Why are you angry?" The Goddess asks, confused. Then, she looks away. "If it is about me leaving you last night, I have my reasons." The sorcerer stares at her, amazed.
