Chapter three: Attention

"What in the world was Jace spewing?"

After his outburst, Pete took one look at me then back at him and burst into laughter confusing both Jace and I, the mischievous look was momentarily wiped off his face.

"This should be fun, well Emma, I gotta go for now but I'll come pick you up"

Pete said to me then glared at Jace

"We'll have a chat soon" he said to him before driving off.

"So your name's Emma, a pretty name for a pretty lady" Jace said to me when Pete drove off, now looking as cocky as ever.

      I suddenly felt irritated by it, being as introverted as me, our reality didn't match the reality we created in our minds most times, so even when we were ticking off inside, we deal with it in the reality our minds create so it was a great surprise when my mind's reality became my actual reality.

"You'll get your hand off me this instant" I said to Jace glaring at him which took him aback but he instantly regained his composure.

"Or you'll do what?" he replied as he raised my face up with his fingers while he looked down at me.

The cocky look in his eyes suggested it was a dare as he figured I couldn't do anything, but before I knew what I was doing, I had my hand buried in his stomach, yes I punched him and I didn't even see myself doing that.

      His hands flew down to his stomach where I had hit him as he felt the pain, he clearly didn't expect that, neither did any other student who had been watching as everyone gasped and murmured in shock.

Almost immediately Ana ran up and took me by my hand making a run for it.

"OMG Emma, you're a freaking badass" she screamed excitedly when we got to our classroom which was surprisingly empty, where she was all excited, I was panting like I'd run for hours.

"Jace is one of the hottest popular student here, his brother is the other, they're a splitting image of themselves after all, everyone either likes them, look's up to them or fears them, no one dares goes against them, but you, you just freaking punched Jace, like wow, you surprised me"

She continued excited when we heard a hearty laughter coming from the door and turned around to face the person.

"I mean, wow, you really surprised me too"

He said while we stared blankly at him.....

  "Excuse me?"

I asked when the hot guy who had interrupted us stared quietly at us with a smile, he had this sweet and innocent vibe but I knew better, a guy as hot as him would be responsible for the sleepless nights of a lot of girls.

"Who might you be?"

I asked feeling a boldness that I haven't felt in my entire life, I wonder if it's like that confidence that came with committing your first crime and going free.

I felt a tug on my sleeves from Ana so I looked at her then followed her line of sight which ended on Mr hot.

He had this amused look on his face now as he stared at me.

"I was wondering where you wandered off to" he said and I realized I must have spaced out, 'shoot', I do that a lot by the way.

"Anyways I'm Wills, it's refreshing to see someone stand up to Jace, it's more amusing cause you're just a little girl"

He said and I was bout arguing but he was already walking away waving me off as he mouthed 'see you around'

"What's his deal Ana?"

"That guy there is the next hottest popular guy, Wills, no 1 arch enemy of Jace, they're always at it, if of course you know what I mean. You, my girl, just caught the attention of the big things here and that's a big deal"

Ana said as she took her seat while I stood perplexed.

My morning classes went by and it was pretty much normal, my kinda normal yes, which was pretty much being unnoticed.

It was finally lunch time, Ana and I took our meals and picked a table, I hadn't noticed the stares until Ana notified me.

"Is it just me or is everyone staring at you? literally" She said and I looked around and yes everyone was staring, I almost cringed in my seat.

"Hey pretty, wanna join our table?"
