The bright moon was hanging in the clouds. In the balcony, a young girl was staring into the distance gloom, with no regards of the bright moon. Her dark eyes held an unspeakable sorrow.
In just three years, she seized every opportunity that came her way. She enrolled in a prestigious business school and emerged with a gold medal, after that she also secured a year-long internship abroad.
When she was staring into darkness, a young man was staring at her back.
His memories drifted back to years ago.
A little girl was on the short tree and searching for something. A little boy stood under the tree and anxiously looking at her.
"Aali, come down. I lied to you. There's nothing in the tree. I hid it in the room."
"You lier! Don't talk to me!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!"
"Go away! I'm not going to talk to you ever again."
"I promise, I'll never lie to you, I promise! Please come down."
She swiftly came down the tree and smiled mischievously.
" Finally, I got to know!", she was beaming with bright smile and her eyes turned to crescent. That smile was still vivid in his memories.
Once a vibrant and lively little girl, she was now consumed by darkness. Her once innocent and joyful spirit was replaced by a cold and aloof demeanor. He wondered if he could see her old self again.
As she felt an intense stare, Alia turned her head and looked at him.
"Brother."
He stood still and lost in thoughts.
Alia called him again.
"Brother!"
"Aali...!", he came back to his senses and smiled at her.
"What happened to you?", she asked him gently.
"Nothing, why are you standing in the wind?", his anxiety mixed in his voice.
"Brother, I'm not that delicate. What are you anxious about?", her tone tinged with mockery, yet who she mocked was unknown.
"Alli, Alli, Alli... ", a childish voice sounded from outside.
A little girl in four years ran towards her and hugged her legs.
"Little Mila!", she bent down and picked up the child.
She looked at her brother and her expression grew heavy.
"Brother, why don't you date someone?", she asked suddenly.
Lian tried his best to calm himself down.
"Aali, we have talked about it countless times. Don't ever ask me this.", his suppressed voice carried a melancholy.
"Brother, I'm sorry. But, you can't be alone forever, right?", she persistently tried.
"Aali, I can't think anyone other than little Mila's mother. Don't try to force me.", he said.
" But... ", before she could finish her words, he shook his head and left the room.
Almost for a year, she tried to convince him as far as she could, but he still refused to consider.
Outside of her room, he leaned on the wall and thought to himself as a fool.
Now, I'm just her brother after all, heh!
