Chapter 26: Dragon [2]
"I am so very confused, can I please try all these?", a young woman looked at the clothes hanging in one of the stalls in the market.
She was pleased with the designs and wanted to try different ones. It was a large store with a changing area, but she didn't need that as with a flick of her wrist, she wore the dress within seconds that sat above the one she already wore.
Weird, but she did that way, just in case she were to get chubbies and the dress would still fit her.
"Miss Marie, good evening, funny meeting you here.", another elderly lady, named Jessie, walked close to the shop, spotting Marie, the one who had been buying the clothes.
"Eh? Miss Jessie!", Marie turned back, walking a step forward and hugging Marie.
"Indeed, never thought I would meet you here, 50 miles away from Grens.", Marie chuckled.
Well, both of them were friends, in fact, teachers who taughnt in Grencraft.
"Yeah. Ah, when you mentioned about your vacation, did you mean you wanted to visit Hancer?", Marie asked.
"Nah, not really. I had plans to-", they were engaged in their chatter, not heeding the call of the shopekeeper who was rather frustrated as both of them were lost in their own world.
Marie was holding the cloth and he didn't trust anyone other than himself, for she could easily escape with the Stynom spell. He had his eyes on her and kept chanting a spell that would restrict the usage of Stynom when all of a sudden, a loud Bang forced him to stop his chant.
BOOM!
All gazes turned towards the gigantic temple - the chapel which towered high. The summit had a crack and the wheel was displaced from it's position, ultimately falling down from the side.
"WHAT!?"
"What's going on!?", everyone was startled and scared for the temple was crumbling.
Within a blink of an eye, a cloud of heavy dust replaced the entire temple.
But if that was all, then it wouldn't take longer for them to calm down. Unfortunately, the destruction of the building caused gigantic ruins and rubble to fly all the way. Like a meteor shot, the rubble first climbed the sky and then fell to the ground, cruching hundreds of people underneath.
While the people were wizards and witches, they weren't particularly strong! Even if some did erect barriers around them, it took no more than a second for them to turn into a pool of blood, their bodies turning into mere paste!
Marie and Jessie pulled out their hairpins, both in a synchonyzed manner. The hairpins eventually changed their shapes, transforming into wands.
Pointing their wands forward, they chanted, "Dextro-Shield!"
A gigantic dome shaped white shield manifested itself around them, covering over a hundreds of people and giving them shelter.
A gigantic rock came flying and hit the barrier, yet it stood tall, as if nothing had happened.
Thud!
The rock fell to the ground, it weight nearly 80kg, yet not even a crack formed on the shield. Why? Because the two who combined their magic and formed the barrier were none other than the great teachers of Grencraft and at the same time, the ones who held the title of Master Witch!
"Mom!"
"Elen! Where are you?"
Huff huff-
Some people who stood right in front of the barrier almost experienced a heart attack. They thought they were goners, but thankfully not.
Howrver, hundreds others had their lives taken for the barrier was not big enough and that wasn't the only rock that came flying.
They turned back, staring at all the dead bodies. Marie and Jessie wanted to offer help to those who were strangled or trapped within the rubble, but they couldn't afford to do so rigjt now.
That's because they found a gigantic head emerging from the dust cloud.
"M-monster...", one of the survivors within the barriers and right behind Marie said this.
Marie's attention shifted to the cloud of dust, noticing the gigantic head.
As the cloud of dust completely settled, the view revealed a gigantic monster - namely, a dragon, slowly crawling out of the temple.
"A-"
"A serpent?", asked one of the bystanders.
But no, as mentioned, it was a dragon which soon became evident.
In matter of seconds, the entire building was destroyed as two gigantic wings made their way out of the temple.
"Dragon…"
"Dragon?"
"DRAGON!", everyone freaked out.
They started to sweat profusely and some even had heart palpitations. Their throats went dry and their hands trembled at the sight of the majestic and terrifying creature.
As the temple had crumbled entirely, the dragon made it's way towards the sky, flapping it's majestic wings.
The first flap blasted away another wave of heavy and dangerous rocks.
A few had baely managed to cling to live. Despite the heavy attack to their internals and big injuries, they kept themselves alive somehow. But as another wave of rocks fell on them - it snatched away the opportunity to survive.
And this time, the wings managed to shoot out ten to twenty gigantic rocks, each weighing over 100 kgs.
All of them hit the barrier - this time, forming only small cracks.
Marie and Jessie flinched as their magic energy started to decrease, but they hung tightly to each other.
The dragon left it's nest: something similar to that, the dragon flew out of the temple, bewildering everyone.
Rubbles kept hitting the barrier and cracks kept elongating, but the barrier was still erected.
ROAR!
It was now in the sky, the wind from it's flaps was reaching the ground. It was huge - almost the size of a soccer field for comparison.
And it was scary of course. Cause everyone knew the story: Battle of Mystics: Almighty Dragon Lord and the Wizard Supremes - hence, they were fully aware of the consequence and danger.
"Unbelivable… the dragon race still lives?", Jessie questioned in a low voice, bewildered.
"Don't be silly Jess, I sense Transformation magic…", Marie replied, trying to denounce Jessie's thoughts.
"No, You are being silly Marie. Do you think someone is capable of such strong and large Transformation magic? You think it is a Grand Wizard or Witch doing it?", Jessie strongly challenged her idea.
"…"
