<The urgent quest {Save the protagonist} is completed.>

Hearing that, I extended my hand to Bell to help her stand.

Seeing my hand, she took it without waiting and stood up.

However, the gaze she is giving me right now… It is a bit weird and creepy. I am getting the same feeling from the gaze I felt when I went to the dungeon.

This feeling is giving me chills.

"Are you injured? Did you have any problems with your body?"

I asked while looking at her to check for any injury.

Although the quest was completed, it still doesn't mean there can't be any injuries, so it is better to be careful.

"Ah, no, no. I am okay. Thanks to you, I don't have any injuries." She said while holding still, not letting my hand go.

"I see, it is good. Then, what are you planning to do right now?"

I asked while starting to get ready to leave since people must be aware of the commotion happening here. Although those bastards are criminals, it is still better for me to leave this place as soon as possible.

"I don't know. I don't know what I will do, and I don't have any place to go either. Say, you are that adventurer who fought with that white monster, aren't you?"

Suddenly she said. It seems she was able to figure out my identity. Well, it seems she is not that stupid, either. She must have figured that out from my swords since they are pretty unique.

Well, it doesn't matter tho since I don't have any plans like leaving her either.

"Okay, I need you to come with me then, miss? Since you know my identity, I can't let you go like that, can I?"

/SOOSH/ "Wha-"

Saying that, I grabbed her in a princess carry and started running away from the crime scene. Since I was also planning to recruit Bell into our familia, this situation works well for my plans too.

And because Bell looked exhausted, I decided to carry her, and it seemed my decision was right. After she got rid of the shyness of me carrying her, she suddenly dozed off and fell asleep in my arms.

It seems all those events took quite a toll on her body as well as her mind, in a sense that was pretty normal. I don't know how many things are changed, but if I remember right, Bell was always a bright person. However, in the anime, he was not accustomed to the darkness inside humans, and he was actually pretty naïve.

It seems this aspect is still the same, even though I am not sure about the other ones.

Anyway, after the painful carrying her from Daedalus Street to our church, I was finally able to get rest.

When I reached home, I put Bell on the sofa and started recounting the events that took place today.

First, I started reviewing the fight I did with Silverback in my mind.

The Silverback is a monster from 11-12 floors of the dungeon, and it has the strength of approximately peak level 1 adventurer.

And I think I did a pretty good job considering that fight. However, my footwork and my technique in swords are still lacking. It feels like I am still making some unnecessary movements, and I can't utilize my strength properly.

Well, that was a given since I am self-taught.

I started replaying the fight, again, again and again. I also started taking notes on the mistakes I noticed.

No matter how fast you are learning, you can always make some mistakes. This is normal since we are all humans.

However, the important thing is accepting your mistakes and trying to learn from them.

This is what I am doing as well.

After taking notes on the things about that fight, I decided to review the fight with those adventurers.

I don't think I did a good job while fighting with those adventurers. Since this was the first time for me to fight with an adventurer or with a human who trained 'his skills' without any prior knowledge, I made a bunch of mistakes.

Firstly my surprise strike. It was half-assed. Since my surprise attack would work on monsters most of the time, I assumed this time it would work again.

That was my first mistake. I should have been prepared for my surprise attack to get blocked in advance and shouldn't have lost my momentum. If I had kept pressing even though my attack got blocked, I would have been able to finish the first adventurer with just one series of attacks.

However, I assumed my attack would connect, and when it didn't, I got surprised and lost my momentum.

My second mistake was not to utilize the decisive aspect of using dual swords. Since dual swords have shorter intervals between attacks, if I had aimed the right points with them, I would have been able to intercept my enemy's greatsword attacks.

In a sense, I should have been more confident and should have gone for closer combat. I let my enemy utilize the range advantage, and that was my second mistake.

And my last mistake was to assume that I was fighting alone, just like I have always done.

No, this time, I wasn't fighting alone but fighting to save someone. And that was a huge flaw that could be utilized by the enemy if they weren't that stupid.

Although it was my first time fighting to save someone else, and that can be considered an inexperienced situation, I don't like making excuses.

In a life-and-death situation, being inexperienced can also be fatal.

This fight made me understand something. One of the worst things one can do while fighting with their life at stake is assume something even though the proofs are not sufficient.

I assumed my surprise attack would get connected without a doubt.

I assumed I was fighting alone even though I wasn't.

All those mistakes came from my arrogance and my sureness. Although I was familiar with that aspect from the times when I was fighting in the arena, it seems I lost track since I hadn't fought with people in this one-month period of time and fought with only monsters.

With that, I finished reviewing my fights, but there is one important thing that remains.

Why is Freya targeting me? I don't understand the reason behind her actions. In the anime, she was also obsessed with Bell while saying she had never seen that type of color.

Since the reason for the monster outbreak in the Anime was also Freya, I presume this time, too, she is the reason.

However, since Bell hasn't joined the Hestia familia right now, the reason behind her actions shouldn't be related to Bell.

That means it is related to me. However, if I can understand one thing, then the gaze I felt while going to the dungeon should be Freya.

In the anime, she was watching Bell from her house on the highest floor of Babel tower, and it seems right now she is watching me.

And there is also the thing about Syr out there. I can't name that feeling, but it feels like sometimes I am feeling that gaze from Syr as well.

It is like the source of gaze is changing places, but I don't know how. Heck, it can even be my just baseless speculations, but I don't like leaving things in someone else's hands.

I should be careful about my course of action in the future, but right now, none of these are important since Hestia is here…

"Wayne-kun, you owe me an explanation, don't you think so?"
