I turned to face her, "Yea?"
"I-I just wanted to thank you," she stuttered out.
I furrowed my brows, "For what?" She shrugged and nervously chuckled, "For everything."
When did I even do anything?
I opened the car door, "You're welcome...I guess and thanks for the ride home."
Hayley smiled and nodded.
Just as I was closing the door, I saw her beating her head on the steering wheel. I contemplated re-opening the door to check on her but she'll probably just blush and clam right up again so I didn't bother.
Hayley sped up the empty street and I walked to Cloey's car that was parked behind her. After seeing her angry facial expression, I contemplated changing my course and running directly in the direction of my welcoming front door.
I ignored her murderous gaze and spoke sweetly to her, "Hey Cloey."
She folded her arms and looked away from me.
