"Mom where's dads old stuff." Lars asks as they walk inside their house.

"It's in a box in the attic. Why do you want his old stuff anyway?" Emma asks curious.

"You know I've always been interested in history."

"But you can't read anything in those books." Emma looks at Lars confused. She knows Lars has long given up on trying to understand his fathers journals.

"Well actually before... the incident I had finally learned to read Elder Futhrak." Lars says excitedly.

Emma looks at her son with a blank expression, she has no idea what Elder Futhrak is. "What's Elder Futhrak?" Emma asks confused.

"It's the oldest form of the runic alphabet." Lars explains.

"That doesn't answer my question."

"Basically there's a chance I might be able to read dads journals." Lars explains plainly.

"Oh...alright then. If you manage to decipher those weird symbols, let me know what they say, I was always curious." Emma says intrigued.

"Will do mom." Lars salutes her. "By the way mom, where's the attic?" Lars asks. He doesn't yet know his way around this new house.

"There's a door upstairs, it's at the end of the hallway that leads to the attic." Emma explains.

"Thanks mom." Lars kisses his mothers cheek excitedly and rushes up the stairs.

"Oh my." Emma touches her cheek where Lars kissed her and smiles warmly. It's been a while since she's seen him so happy.

The attic is surprisingly clean but Lars isn't surprised by that, considering that his mom hasn't been living here that long and he's sure she's hired a maid since the house is spotless. His mom is always busy with her job, so she's never been good with household chores. Anyway, enough about maids.

Lars looks around the attic for the box of his dads stuff. In the corner of the room, he notices a thick book bound in old brown leather sticking out of the top of one of the boxes. Lars recognizes the book, the book belonged to his dad. Lars walks over to the box and picks it up. Lars can't help but feel slightly emotional as he looks at all his fathers things. He can still remember watching his father spend hours in his study trying to decipher the ruins in these books. He'd stay in his study until Lars's mom would force him to stop. Lars stops his reminiscing and walks out of the attic. Lars looks around at the different doors in the hallway, but he isn't sure which room is his, or if it's even on the second floor. "Mom where's my room!!!" Lars shouts.

"The door on the left closest to the stairs!!!" Emma yells back.

"Okay, goodnight mom!!!" Lars yells.

"Night honey!!!" Emma yells back.

Lars walks down the hall towards the door closest to the stairs on his right. He pushes the door open and walks inside. The walls of the room are a light blue. The room is filled with his old stuff. His old double bed is sitting up against the back wall with a window on either side of the bed. There are alot of comic book hero posters on the walls. There's a signed picture of the Batman played by Christian Bale, A picture of Nightwing and a quite a few others. Lars isn't ashamed to admit that he's a big nerd, he loves comic books, Anime, Cartoons, but he also loves history, especially Viking history. His dad always told him that they're descended from vikings.

Lars walks over to his study desk and places all the entire box of things on the desk.

"Well time to get started." Lars sighs and sits down.

Lars grabbed the first book and opened it. "The adventures of the great Ragnar Lothbrok, descendant of Odin." Lars could actually read what was written. He wasn't able to before, but now it's as simple as reading English.

"Alright let's begin shall we." Lars flips the first page and starts reading.

Hours passed as Lars read through book after book, after book. He wasn't able to stop reading through all this fascinating history. The stories of Ivar the boneless were quite impressive, along with the stories of his brothers; Sigurd, Bjorn, Ubba and Hvitserk. They were all seriously fierce and deadly warriors, especially Bjorn and Ivar.

But the book that fascinated him the most, is the one he's currently reading. This book might have the answer he's looking for. It's a book about my ancestors history, it's called {Törsen family history}. The book starts with my first ancestor Erik Törsen son of Ragnar Thörson. Ragnar was a fierce viking king who was named after another great king, Ragnar Lothbrok. Erik was Ragnars youngest son. When Erik turned 15 he was cast out of his fathers kingdom. You see Erik was born incredibly weak and was a terrible fighter. As a viking, especially a son of a famous viking like Ragnar that wasn't a good thing. After Erik was exiled from the kingdom he traveled all over the world and eventually settled in what is now known as Norway. He then changed his name to Erik Törsen and thus our family name came into being. A part of his adventure in the book seemed to have been torn out but after he settled in Norway he seems to keep on mentioning a particular necklace with a silver hammer pendant attached to it. Erik claims that the necklace belonged to Thor himself. After he died the necklace was passed down to his son, who passed it onto his son and so on and so on.

Two centuries go by and something strange happens to Harald Törsen another one of his ancestors. Herald was struck by lighting like Lars was and he seemed to have fell into a coma just like Lars did. When he awoke he felt unbridled power coursing through his body. Before he was just an average warrior but after waking up, he was 5 times faster, stronger and tougher then any other warrior, but it says {I was not worthy of wielding his hammer.}. Lars can't help but wonder what hammer he's talking about because if this guy was 5 times stronger, faster and tougher then anyone else, how was he unworthy to wield a hammer, it made no sense to Lars.

Anyway a hundred years pass again and then same thing happens to another of his ancestors, then another and so on and so on.

His father also wrote a few passages inside the book, but he wrote nothing of substance. He just rambles on and on about failing to translate the writings, but his last passage was different from the others. It says {The legends are all true. I was shown the truth, but sadly I was not worthy. I can only hope that Lars never finds where I have hidden the necklace, or I fear he'll suffer the same fate as me.} Lars struggles to understand whether this is the ramblings of a madman or was there some sort of foulplay involved with his dissapearance. Lars still remembers how unhinged his dad was the month before his dissapearance. He was always rambling on and on about how useless he was and about how unworthy he was. Lars can't remember exactly what he was rambling about, but he remembers actually being slightly afraid of his father because of his hallow soulless eyes, those eyes sent shivers down his spine.

Lars looks in the box once again, to see if there's anything else important inside and to his surprise there seems to be a fine carved black wooden box.

Lars gently picks the box up and slowly opens it.

Inside is a beautiful necklace made of silver, Lars picks up the necklace and holds it in front of his face. There's a beautiful silver warhammer with a leather grip attached to it. The head of the hammer is short but thick and has intricate looking carvings around the edges of both sides of the hammer. The handle is leather bound with the name Mjolnir inscribed onto the leather in gold. The head doesn't seem to be made of silver however, Lars doesn't actually know what material it's made of, he hasn't seen anything like it before.

Is this the necklace dad was talking about? Lars thinks to himself confused. It can't be right? I mean he wouldn't of hid it so sloppily. Maybe he was just crazy, and the writing in the books is the ramblings of a crazy person. Lars thinks to himself.

Lars liking the necklace decides to wear it himself and puts it on.

Nothing happened. Lars was half expecting something to happen, but nothing happened.

Hmmm... I should be 5 times stronger then anyone right now. I should test out my new strength but I honestly I don't feel much different, apart from feeling more energized. Lars thinks to himself unsure.

Lars decides to do a mini test and walks over to his bed. Before Lars needed two hands to lift the bed by himself, even then it was abit of a struggle. Lars bends down and places one hand under the bed he grips the underside of the bed and lifts slowly. To his surprise the bed feels even lighter then a feather. He keeps raising the bed with a look of awe on his face, he raises it up until he's holding it above his head. The entire bed is off the ground and floating in midair. Lars lowers and then raises the bed again and still he doesn't feel the weight of the bed at all, nor is his arm tired. Lars puts the bed down still completely in awe of what he did.

I'll need to do further tests tomorrow, I need to know what the extent of my strength is. Lars thinks excitedly.

Lars looks outside his window and noticing the darkness starting to fade. Huh it's already tomorrow. Lars is surprised that he spent the entire night reading.

I should probably get some sleep first before I do anything else. Lars thinks to himself feeling a little tired.

Lars puts his bed down again and climbs under the blankets. It doesn't take long before Lars is out cold. Unbeknownst to Lars, as he sleeps soundly the warnhammer pendant flickers with tiny sparks of blue for a few seconds before the sparks dissapear.
