Chapter 31 First Day

"Back off! Back off! back in line!"

"Hey, I arrived first!"

"I came here sooner than everybody else. hey! let me buy it first."

"Back off! I will force you if you don't want to follow the rules."

"Back to the queue! I don't care when you come here, I just want you to line up according to the designated place." Guards and people who come to buy medicine pushing and yelling each other.

Not long after Selvi and I started selling this medicine, some people started making trouble. They are very difficult to manage, I have asked the guards to make a line towards Le Réseau but there are still some people who are trying to cut the line with reason they come faster than other buyers who have queued up properly. Some of them forcefully cut line by beating people who were queuing because they did not want to give up their place. Because of an incident like that I asked the guards to arrest people who committed violence and forbade them to buy this medicine.

'I have to give these guards money later, they have been very helpful in controlling the situation here. Without them these people will be very chaotic and dangerous.'

Fortunately there are no people who make trouble more than that, or maybe it hasn't happened because this is the first day we selling it. Looking at the profit that I get very big in one day, I'm sure there will be people who try to get this medicine. Half day after we started selling this, I already got more than 840 gold coins from selling more than 840 packs, i think it would take about 4 to 5 days for everyone in this town to get medicine.

'After all this is done, I will have someone to walk around the city to make sure everyone gets medicine. Especially the poor people who live in the slum area.'

"Hey, don't you understand my words!? Do you want to be beaten!? I told you not to cut lines, why are you still doing that?? Are you pig?" again I heard one of the guards yelling, asking people to queue up after the previous commotion was over.

'These people are very troublesome.'

"Hey! let me pass! I have something to do with the owner." A man forcing his way to pass people who are making a fuss.

"I'll beat you up if you don't return to the line!" One of the guards was ready to hit that man after he made it through the crowd.

"Stop! Stop! I didn't cut line, I have something to do with Mr. Nine! I'm an employee of the Merchants Guild." He stopped the guard who about to hit him with baton.

"Where is your proof that you are an employee of the Merchants Guild? I can't let you meet Mr. Nine if you can't prove your identity."

Then he pulled out a paper containing employee information and a stamp from the Merchants Guild. "This is my assignment letter." The guard looked at its contents, after making sure the stamp was authentic he allowed him to meet Nine.

"Mr. Nine, I am merchant guild's employee ordered to meet you. My name is Dean." Guild employees introduce himself.

"Are you here because there are nobles who need this medicine?"

"That's right, Mr. Nine, there were four noble families who came to the guild after they heard information from Lord Llyne. Previously Lord Llyne had ordered us to meet you if some nobleman came because of your medicine."

"Alright wait a minute, I'll prepare the medicine first."

"Of course Mr. Nine."

I went to the second floor to get about 100 packs of medicine. Because of the large number of people living in noble family manor, they will need a lot of medicine. Like in Count Llyne's manor before, there were around 30 people including servants who lived there.

We went straight to the guild after all that, there I saw people who seemed to be heads of noble families along with their butlers and guards.

I was introduced by the Llyne City Merchants Guild Master to the heads of these noble families. They were nobles who held office in this city and ruled several small cities under Count Llyne. Even though they have their own territory they still live in this town because of the glamorous lifestyle of noble families they cannot bear to live in their own small town, which is why they chose to live in here.

I asked them how many people lived at their place to give medicine according to the amount needed, at first they asked for medicine just enough for their main family members. After hearing my explanation about the possibility that they could become infected again if other people who lived there did not take this medicine, then they accepted it.

"Thank you, Mr. Nine. Receiving your help like this is a bit uncomfortable for me, I will give you money for this medicine." One of the heads of a noble family who owned a small town in the Count Llyne territory spoke to me. Hearing his words, the rest of the head of noble family followed him to give me money.

"Gentlemen, I don't need payment from you, I can get to know you gentlemen, that's enough for me."

"But as a nobleman I cannot just accept your help, this concerns my pride. If you don't want money, I'll give you permission to run a business in my town. Because you are a businessman, with this letter you can run your business easily there."

"If it's like this, I can receive this gift from you, I promise I will open up some business there. When that happens, I'll ask for your help, sir."

I got permission from those who have a small town to open a business there. I already have plans to expand my business to other places, especially opening pubs and inns. That way I can gather more information from a wider area.

'Places where people gather and drink alcohol are places where information is easily obtained. It would be more perfect if the merchants gathered there and they drank alcohol, information would continue to flow.'
