S2: Chapter 13

The sun rays enter your room and you slowly wake up. After a long time, you wake up early and witness the wonders of the morning- The birds singing sweet songs with their friends, the sun smiling from the sky and the morning dew glittering on the leaves. 

"I want you two to meet. I mean we can go secretly, but it just might be too risky." you say while Mavis helps you dress up.

"Hmm, I understand Nevil. It's alright. We can meet anytime, let's wait for all this to end." she answers.

"Should I help uncle out with this? I don't think Odell would be of much help. It's going to be tougher for him to go against Ramon, because of me and Tsukiyomi." you think and step out of your house.

"Nevil, don't mind what I'm about to say, but why would Ivail tell you about his father's work, willingly that is? Shouldn't he make sure word doesn't go out?" Mavis asks. 

"Oh, um, yeah.. That makes sense. But in any case, why would he accuse his father?" you say. 

"I can't really tell her the whole transmigration shit and that Tsuki is my friend." you think.

"Hmm.. Maybe, maybe it's a scheme?" she whispers. 

"I don't want to believe Ivail would play out a scheme on me. He wouldn't. I am sure of it." you say.

"Alright, as you say so, and I'm sorry for my senseless accusations. I just couldn't sleep last night. You see I haven't felt the fear of getting caught in a long time. It kept me awake, resulting in these weird theories." she explained.

"I get that." you say, laughing.

"What would you like to do today, Nevil?" she asks.

"I don't have anything specifically planned." you say.

"Then let's go to the market in the central city." she suggests. "Hmm, good idea." you say.

Even though, you have been in Pethra for a long time, roaming among the furred-people is still really weird for you. 

"I can feel the people staring at me. Maybe because I'm an alpha OR because I have white fur. But either way, it's feels weird." you think and check the variety of shops.

"Nevil, let's buy a good luck charm. I have heard that shop sells authentic charms." Mavis says, pointing towards a shop in the corner.

"Sounds fun." you say and walk towards the shop.

The shop was made of wood and had moss grown all over it which gave you the idea that is an old shop. 

"This place is oddly familiar." you say softly as you enter.

"It can't be familiar. We never visited this shop, it only opened a few days ago." she replies.

"Good evening, oh dear alpha!" an old woman popped in front of you.

You both flinch and then Mavis asks, "Um, hi. We are looking for some luck charms."

"Oh sure, right this way." she said and started stumbling into the back of the shop. "I have seen these paintings somewhere.... Maybe at Wren's place or Odell's." you think, scrutinizing every detail around you. 

"There are some weird looking things here, don't you think?" you ask Mavis.

"Yes, I even saw a cursed tool I heard about. Never mind that, this place is full of different things. The paintings of the previous alphas, dangerous weapons, thousands of antique books and so many tools." she says.

"Hmm.. How big is this shop?' you whisper, since you have been walking endlessly now.

"We're here. You may choose the one of your liking." the old lady announces.

"Oh, that one looks pretty." Mavis says and walks away to a nearby shelf.

You start examining the numerous items on the shelf in front of you. 

"Oh, this is Jade? Can this be crafted into a necklace?" you ask.

"Sure, sure. I'm so thankful you listened. Everything is on track now." the old lady answers.

"What are you talking about?" 

"Come on, you must remember me. We met in the parallel universe. Your name was, I believe, Y/N?" she says, laughing.

The crystal falls from your grip and you look at her. "You are the old lady, the one who told me about Pethra in the first place? Who really are you? Why am I here?" you ask.

"I told you before, you are the Female Alpha of the North City. THIS is where you belong." she says, spreading her hands and spinning around.

Your eyebrows frown, "I don't belong here. Now tell me, how can I go back to my world?"

"You will find out soon.. You are on the right path. Slowly, your destiny will unfold it's wings and-" "How much is this?" Mavis interrupts.

You start taking deep breaths to calm down. 

Mavis notices and asks, "Nevil? What's the matter? Are you not feeling well?"

"I'm-I'm fine. Don't worry about it. Did you find anything?" you ask.

"Yes.. I found this stone. It protects you from danger." she says, holding an orange stone.

"Oh, that is Carnelian. Good choice, and dear alpha, you have chosen Jade, for good luck and prosperity. Would you like anything else?" the old lady bent down for the Jade that fell from your hands.

"Do you need anything else, Nevil?" she asks.

"No, that will be all." you answer.

You start walking with them towards the counter and that is when you realize, the paintings you see around you, are the same ones from the old house all the way back in Japan.

"I'll have your necklace and bracelet delivered to your place. Please visit again. I will humbly await you." The old lady says as you walk out.

"What does she mean, I'll find out soon? Destiny? I have really bad feeling about all this." you think while walking through the market. 

"What's the matter, Nevil? Your complexion has suddenly become pale. Did something happen back there?" Mavis asks and stops walking.

"Nothing happened, Mavis. I'm just hungry." you say, smiling.

"Oh! Why didn't you tell me earlier? Let's go to ******, it's a really nice restaurant. You'll definitely like it." she says and starts walking, practically running towards the restaurant.

"That was a good excuse AND it's not a lie." you think while running with Mavis.
