The only way to get away from the madness is to get a food source that could calm my hunger and get me away from my primal instincts. However, I do not think it is an easy task, especially considering that the cold is becoming more intense.
Even if I wanted to run away, looking for a way out, I know that my chances of leaving this forest alone are almost nil. This is because, as I saw when I was near the cliff, the forest is surrounded by high and steep mountains that are impossible to climb. There is only a small entrance and exit. Which I assume must be supervised at every moment.
Probably no one will believe me if I go so far as to say that I fell by mistake, not to mention that I cannot communicate as a human with this body. I can only wait near the entrance for someone from the town to come to rescue me. I just hope they actually do ...
While I was lost in my thoughts, I realized that there was a light that illuminated a certain part of the forest. I remembered the story the priestess had told me about making wishes in the light if you get close enough. I have never really believed her stories, but today I have realized that what she says is true. So maybe if I come to the light, I can find a better solution.
So, I walked away from my tree to find where the light began. I knew that this decision was quite risky and that I was losing my "refuge" at night, in search of possibly empty hope. Still, I had to take a chance, since I didn't know if I was going to see it in the next few nights.
As I got closer, the light was more intense and my fear and attention to detail grew. If the light caught my attention at night, it was definitely going to catch the attention of other residents as well.
