"So what's your plan?"
"For what?"
"For today." Emily said, watching him eat breakfast alone, as Aliya and Shashi were as always sleeping till now. "I know you can't sit still for a whole day, so what's the plan?"
"I can sit still at home. No biggie." Ali replied, shrugging his shoulders. "Will just play some games, read some stories, pass some time and it'll be over."
".. …"
"Fine, I was planning to go at Natasha's home and take the chubby kid for a trip to the playground." Watching as Emily just kept staring at him, Ali gave a little smile and answered honestly.
"No. Madam's coming back in next week and I don't want any complaints on my name." Emily replied, taking away the plates and dishes as he was done. "So just stay here and no funny business."
"What a buzzkill." Ali said and shook his head, but with her refusal he also canceled his plans. "At least join me in gaming, till the others wake up will you?Or we can watch those anime that you like."
"Okay." Emily replied, before she disappeared from his view, into the kitchen.
Ali too stood up and left the hall, walking towards the guest house where the guards were staying.
"Hey, Juliet, how are the boys?" Ali asked as he stepped out of his house and found Juliet standing by the pillar, staring at the garden and the clear sky.
Juliet, the girl with blonde hair and perfect body structure and face to rival the models ramp walking on TV shows, turned around and answered. "They're fine. All of them are used to training and a little beatings."
"Good. Call Beta, Charlie, Echo, Fox, Hotel, Lima over. I got a few tasks for them."
. ..
Looking at the guards lined up in front of him as he stood behind the railing, Ali checked their eyes and noticed the way they looked at him and behaved around him now had changed a little from the way they were yesterday.
'As someone said nothing beats a good old beating to get people in line.' He thought and shook his head.
"Here, the files.." Emily came behind him with a few folders in her hands and passed them to Ali. After that she stood behind him like Juliet and kept watching.
"I called you here since the six of you aren't needed here." Ali started his speech with the first sentence that caused all of them to stiffen up and look at him confusedly, but ignoring their eyes he continued. "All of you are to follow a few people I found for you. You don't need to do anything, except keep an eye on them. 24×7 , whatever they do, wherever they go, whoever they meet, I want all the details to be clear and monitored."
"Charlie, Echo - These are the details of your target." Ali said, showing them a folder with Kevin's photo at top. "He looks like a dumb fucking idiot, but he's sharp and he can kick your ass. So don't you dare mess up cause you were feeling arrogant and got sloppy."
"Bravo - Aarvi, Hotel - Natasha, Fox - Kiara and Lima - Meher." Ali said, handing them the folders of the girls they were told about. "These girls are for you to watch. Pay attention to their every movement and anyone high profile or weirdly low profile around them. If they're in any trouble, you are to inform me at any given time."
"I don't want any mishap or delayed information when it's about them." He said, his gaze staring at everyone till they nodded their heads in understanding.
"Do your job right, and we can all be happy." Ali said and without explaining anything else, he turned around and walked back inside.
Through their doubtful eyes hearing about all the girls and Kevin, he could see their weird expressions and thoughts like a book, but he didn't think there was any need to give them details on how to do their job, or why he was asking them to do it.
If they can't do it, someone else will. They know it, he knows it. And that's all there is.
"You forgot one girl?" Emily said while following him.
"Who?" Ali asked without thinking.
"The police one. The one who put you in prison." Emily said.
Hearing the little sour tone in her voice Ali raised his eyebrow and turned back to look at her.
"What.. Is she not to your liking?" Emily asked, looking at him with those big eyes of hers.
"Wait, are you thinking I'm interested in them cause they're pretty?" Ali asked.
"Nooo" Emily replied doubtfully.
Ali smiled, nudging her nose, causing her to be embarrassed and step back, "All those girls have something to do with that guy I'm planning to kill. I just don't want him to die peacefully and get any happiness, that's all."
"Isn't the police girl related to him too, then?" Emily asked, trying to hide the feeling of warmth on her face.
"She is. But as they say, the police always only appear late for stuff. Plus I got someone else watching her." Ali said, remembering Ghost who had hacked the whole station Sophia worked at.
'Since she's a police heroine, her plot line should only include criminals and gangsters and stuff. Since there's no running psycho on a loose or secret mission going on which Kevin can solve, she should be on the harem sideline for a while.' Ali thought and didn't worry about her.
Plus he didn't want to do anything with her, as from the first time he met her last year she always gave him that judgy look that he had no idea where it came from.
Hell she almost put him in prison twice and successfully did so last week. So he could just call her stupid and ignore her.
"Wait, you said you'll kill him? As in yourself?" Emily, who came to her senses in a few breaths of silence, remembered what he said a few moments ago and asked back in surprise.
"Defeat me in a game and I'll tell you." Ali said, walking into the gaming room.
Jumping on the sofa in front of a PlayStation and calling her in.
