"Asher , Asher, an anonymous donor came forward and has given his blood. They are taking her into surgery right now"

Lilah announced to me with a wide smile on her face.

Despite the feeling of impending doom building in the pit of my stomach , I smiled broadly. No matter what happened, the main thing was that I was able to save Audrey's life and find a donor.

I had to keep it to myself, the arrangements I had made with my mum in return for saving Audrey. Mum would never let an opportunity like this go, she had always had me under her thumb but now she controlled me even more. But if that was what I needed to bear, then so be it.

I hated speaking to her, she made me feel so low about myself.
