While grasping hands with Moriarty, El Dust left the onlookers in bewilderment.

With a reluctance to tarnish existing ties, the persona that prioritized bonds decided not to succumb to the predestined fate.

Stepping beyond the meticulously arranged sequence of events, El Dust ventured to find another place and soul suitable to serve as the justification for their existence in that world.

"Kukuku, those three sisters' faces were truly adorable back then! Huhuhu, ahh, I can't suppress my laughter when reminiscing about it again."「El Dust」

[Dust, do you enjoy bewildering others?] (Moriarty)

"If it's those close to me, yes. I truly relish stirring emotions in those who know me. Confusing them, causing them pain, and even betraying them... there's nothing quite like playing with the feelings of those who are dear to you," El Dust admitted in muse

[...] Moriarty remained silent, processing El Dust's revelatory words.

If he enjoyed confusing those close to him, then what was she to him? The timeless girl thought popped up as they walked, casting a shadow of uncertainty over their relationship.

Moving away from the public residence area and navigating through a few shortcuts with the girl beside him, El Dust and Moriarty found themselves at the outskirts of the city.

From where he stood since he thought there's no need to swing anymore, he could see the vastness of the sea and the multitude of people frolicking on the beach. Yet, as he turned his gaze forward, a sprawling forest awaited, uniquely emitting an atmosphere with a hint of strangeness within.

Looking both ways, he just realized that he's in a town nestled between a forest and a sea. However, when he focused his gaze further beyond, he also noticed a small structure that reminded him of a stake in the far distance.

The sight of that construct slightly disturbed him as he swung alongside Kiana and Moriarty because wherever he looked, the towering monument seemed to loom in every direction his gaze turned.

Nevertheless, El Dust wasn't particularly intrigued.

"After walking quite a distance, I never expected to find a place like this. Glad we decide to use our feet once in a while. Then, what can you share about place ahead, miss Guardian?" El Dust inquired while still musing at the sight of dark forest.

[Up ahead is the Forest of Shinano, a forest that holds a hidden dwelling named Yae-gu or Yae Village. In there, Kiana and her friends will also experience their growth, but not now. It'll be far in the future.] Moriarty shared, however there's a heavy unease lingered in her words.

Her heart slightly wavered, even though she had decided to always believed in him.

Nevertheless she didn't want to show anything strange at the moment. This pleasant time sounds good enough for Moriarty, thereby she put away her emotion and bottle it up inside for now.

"Hmm, then just like how we used to if I'm using a scenario's setting, what chapter lies ahead? You could also use a number to make it easier to understand." El Dust sought clarification, while being oblivious to her.

[It'll be after their prologue, another tale in their beginning. When Kiana and her friends face their first and second hurdle. If it's in numbers... maybe chapter 4 or 5.] Moriarty explained.

"Ohh? What comes before 4 then?"「El Dust」 

[That was what you were supposed to do—go to school with her, train with her, and then strengthen your bond as more than a sibling but also as a family. Since you're not with her anymore, I think there's bound to be something going to change.] Moriarty expressed with a touch of concern.

"Huhuhu, it should be fine, miss guardian. The world created from our wish is not supposed to be dependent on us after all," El Dust reassured with a confident yet wistful tone.

Once again, they discussed something that could only be done when someone knows the future. Going beyond what should have been experienced at the beginning, and then starting something that shouldn't have happened yet.

It seems that El Dust is indeed a persona who enjoys introducing many oddities into the preordained destiny.

"By the way, is Kiana the only character moving the world? What about some of her friends?"「El Dust」 

[No, there're many other Initiator in different regions. I think there's also another one within Kiana's future friend group. Most of them will support her growth and be together with her. However, I myself don't fully understand. In this world, "Zeimachi" is one of the figures supporting Protagonist Kiana, but why is he only a supporter and not on equal footing with Kiana?] Moriarty asked, seeking El Dust's insight into her concerns.

As the guardian had mentioned, the presence of "Zeimachi" within that world was nothing more than a mere supporter. For reasons unknown to Moriarty, she couldn't comprehend why he and his persona hoped for such a role.

"Perfect, one person shouldn't bear the weight alone after all." El Dust closed his eyes, seeming to contemplate for a while, as the weight of the conversation hung in the air.

Venturing through the forest adorned with numerous trees and grass, the two of them often caught sight of various insects and small creatures.

Occasionally, slightly threatening wild animals would emerge, but a mere gaze from Moriarty's eyes would send them fleeing, driven by the instinctual fear that surfaced within them.

"Huhu, smart beast. I think I could answer that dilemma of yours, Moriarty. It might be hard for you to grasp, but in my opinion, it's because the brother hopes that this world doesn't need him."「El Dust」 

[What do you mean?] (Moriarty)

"Kukuku, in the sense of being the world's Initiator of course. Brother and his persona including me, indeed created this world, but brother surely doesn't want his existence to be the center of everything, Us as well, we don't really need acknowledgment from others," El Dust chuckled as he become reminded of the giant structure in the far distance.

[... So, was that why he hoped for himself to be unimportant since childhood?] Meanwhile, Moriarty delved further into the history that had been created within that world. There, she saw the younger form of "Zeimachi."

With a mental library of knowledge, Moriarty could access anything, as that was the authority granted to her.

"From what I know, 'Zeimachi' indeed already existed in this world. He has his own origins, and that's one of the facts that we, the personas, hope for. However, his existence created by The Will of the World is nothing more than a body moving on autopilot, having the nature and character of the young Zeimachi." To make his explanation clearer, El Dust plucked a leaf and tossed it into the air.

The leaf floated slowly before falling back into the palm of his hand.

Although the forest was not an ordinary one, the two of them could easily navigate through the ominous area.

El Dust, in his carefree manner, considered it a leisurely and enjoyable stroll. However, Moriarty, on the other hand, became somewhat uneasy as she sought information about what El Dust had just revealed.

[I just saw the recordings of "Zeimachi" from the past through my authority. I must admit, even though it's on autopilot, he seems like the Machi I know. The same goes for you, Dust.] Moriarty shared.

"Whether as a child or an adult, Brother hasn't changed much. He doesn't consider himself important. Huhuhu, what do you think is similar between Brother and me?" El Dust replied, his amusement evident in his chuckle.

[The way you both laugh. Sometimes, when Machi encounters something unusual, he looks like he's about to commit a crime.] (Moriarty)

"Kukuku, I see I see! He's always my brother after all even if from different worlds. Oops, this reminded me, what was the name of that place where Kiana grow up, lady Moriarty?"「El Dust」

A sense of joy filled the persona.

As their conversation continued, without them realizing, they had reached the edge of the forest. Bright light shone from above, with no trees obstructing the ground covered in grass.

[The city of Soukai, that name also taken from his memories.] (Moriarty)

"Well, I guess it's to be expected."「El Dust」

With a subtle narrowing of his eyes, El Dust moved towards the light stepping out from the depths of the forest.

The crisp and fresh air carrying the delightful aroma of the countryside welcomed him, accompanied by the picturesque views unfolding from a village concealed within the woods.

A hidden place, named Yae Village.

Realizing that he had been taking in the surroundings and observing the various views, Moriarty attempted to express something. However El Dust swiftly shushed her, seizing the moment to articulate her thoughts.

"Ah, don't tell me about the origin of this village and the name of important people who live in here yet alright?"「El Dust」

[... Alright.] (Moriarty)

Still holding hands, they traversed several slopes to cut through a path, approaching the cluster of houses they had spotted.

Resembling a countryside, most of the houses were constructed from wood and natural stone. Though the population was not abundant, El Dust considered it normal for a hidden village.

However, before El Dust leaped to declare his presence to the villagers, the girl holding his hand had something to say.

[Wait, Dust. There's something I need to hand over to you before we go, ... it's this Feather.] (Moriarty)

From her previously empty palm, a single feather slowly and gently emerged, radiating a shimmer akin to the undying flame of the immortal bird. The Feather captured El Dust's attention, as it wasn't something Moriarty should have possessed in the first place.

"This... isn't this brother's? Did he gave this to you in your previous encounter maybe?"「El Dust」 

[No he wasn't, it was there with me when I opened my eyes. This construct that... make me very reminded of him. Its really his, isn't it?] (Moriarty)

"Indeed this Feather is his. It's a tool known as Divine Key of Consciousness, Fenghuang Down. One of many that could control and manipulate sentient being's consciousness. Through this as well he connect this world into his memories."「El Dust」

[So its some kind of device he used to remodel this world I see? That's explaining why I could feel Machi from here. He's... Machi is still fine right?] (Moriarty)

Although she tried to conceal her concern, El Dust could discern something intriguing from her recent response. This made him tempted to tease her but at the same time, he felt a bit uneasy about playing the role of a mediator, as a mediator among them = a figure that connects bonds.

"Kukuku, my brother is always fine on the outside. Now then let's go to that place, that area beneath the huge Sakura tree tickled my curiosity more than a little."「El Dust」

Thanks to Moriarty, El Dust's attention was now drawn to an enormous tree. A tree that towered high, adorned with branches bearing pinkish leaves.

Previously, he couldn't catch a glimpse of this beautiful sight due to villagers obstructing the view. But now, with the Yae villagers stepping aside, El Dust felt a strong urge to go there.

[That's... what a coincidence, it's also a place where an important person will awaits to be met. The one who will later become Sirin's friend after they begin their activities in school, the cursed child of Yae village.] (Moriarty)

"A future friend of my sister? Huhuhu, interesting. And if I go there, will I trigger a chapter that shouldn't have happened yet? Going straight from 1 to 4, just like that? Will it have consequences for the future?"「El Dust」

The persona seemed visibly impatient, unable to contain a continuous smile. This aspect also what gave her a glimpse of the Zeimachi she used to know.

With that, they began traversing the outskirts of the countryside, making their way towards a village where a large Sakura tree grew in the midst of the ancient settlement.

While El Dust appeared enthusiastic about disrupting the fates of a world, in reality, he was also impatient to meet the person referred to as his sister's future friend.

What the encounter would be like remained uncertain.

Before long, El Dust and Moriarty encountered someone named Yae Rin upon reaching their destination. Surprisingly, both of them found themselves inside the residence of the girl from the Yae village.

Even more surprisingly, they're now seated, enjoying the sight of falling Sakura leaves, with a cup of green tea in their hands, graciously provided by one of the Yae family's dwellings.

"How long was your last meal, lady Moriarty?"「El Dust」

[Many years ago... I think.] (Moriarty)

"To be precise, how many years?"「El Dust」

[I'm not really sure, maybe million years?] (Moriarty)

Hearing this, El Dust took a moment to sip his tea, maintaining a calm demeanor.

'More than a fossil I see.'「El Dust」

[... Hey, what do you mean?] (Moriarty)

The village they now visited bore the name Yae Village, a concealed haven within the Forest of Shinano, situated a bit distant from Soukai City. As per Moriarty's earlier revelation, a future companion of Sirin's awaits her encounter around the vicinity of the towering Sakura tree.

"It's her isn't it?"「El Dust」

[Yes.] (Moriarty)

The place they currently occupied could be described as a temple frequently visited by many residents of Yae Village to convey their prayers.

Situated near the sacred towering Sakura tree, it was a fitting location to appreciate the beautiful and grand spectacle of the pink-leaved tree. Fortunately, Yae Rin allowed them to rest there as well.

"Talking about old being, are there someone similar like you in this world? Someone who hold the title of Guardian and could hear The Will of World?"「El Dust」

[Guardian is me alone, but there are many creatures and individuals who can hear this world's voice. As a matter of fact, Sirin and even that man with glasses, Welt Yang, can sometimes hear it as well.] (Moriarty)

"Huhu, the more you know." El Dust chuckled in muse.

Regarding the Yae family's residence, it could be considered to be positioned just behind the location where Moriarty and El Dust were seated, slightly obscured behind the temple.

In solitude, the area often served as a playground for the Yae family's children. By chance, at that very moment, the duo stumbled upon a young girl diligently tending to the temple.

Her name was Yae Rin. 

Due to their unfamiliar attire, the girl, Yae Rin, immediately assumed they were outsiders. She was so startled that she dropped the broom she was using to clean around the temple.

However, she quickly regained her composure and promptly ushered the two foreign guests inside the temple. There, they encountered a creature that bore some resemblance to a human but was not quite one.

With that explanation concluded, let's return to Moriarty, who for some reason, had changed her outfit.

"What's with the outfit?"「El Dust」

[... This scene kind of reminds me of that time, that time when I got to meet Machi for the first time. Passing through woods just because of Student Council's order, the once empty me watched him for the first time in this uniform. So... this uniform came to mind.] (Moriarty)

"First encounter huh? Kukuku, here I thought you got a little upset due to how I mentioned your age. Good thing that's not the case."「El Dust」

Now, Moriarty has changed into a school outfit.

The uniform consisted of a black shirt and a magenta mini skirt, along with long white stockings that covered her bare feet until her shoes. The attire brought a smile to her face as she reminisced about how long it had been since she last wore the uniform.

[Don't get it wrong, I still haven't accepted it.] (Moriarty)

Moreover, the timeless girl also wanted to shed the recently bestowed fossil stigma by El Dust. Therefore, Moriarty decided to don the clothing of teenage girls, symbolizing their youthful days.

"Huhuhu, whatever meaning you're trying to convey, my lady. I apologize if my words hurt your conscience."「El Dust」

They spent their time chatting while gazing at the fluttering and falling cherry blossom petals. With a cup of tea in their hands, the atmosphere around them appeared remarkably serene.

Then...

As they were savoring the moment, suddenly a voice was heard from behind them. From inside the temple, to be more precise.

A voice emanating from the young girl they had previously encountered by the giant Sakura tree, accompanied by a small fox-humanoid floating beside her.

"Sorry for the wait! There's still plenty of tea if you want it, and here, fried tofu as well. It's on me, so don't hold back!"「Yae Rin」

"Uuuuu... even though it's made for me."「Higokumaru」

"Don't worry, Higokumaru! I'll ask Onee-chan to make you more later!" exclaimed Yae Rin, a girl with long sakura-colored hair, who happened to be the daughter of the temple's caretaker.

Despite her yukata covering her body, El Dust could still discern her slender figure with his keen eyes.

"Really?!" Meanwhile, the small floating fox-humanoid beside her was Higokumaru, a spiritual being, or some would say the protector and friend of Yae Rin.

But when El Dust inquired with Moriarty, it seemed that Higokumaru's true identity was more than just an ordinary small fox-like creature.

"Double-really!" Yae Rin had bright blue eyes and a cheerful demeanor, and she seemed eager to move around.

"Waaahhh! I love you, Rin!" As for Higokumaru, she had a fondness for anything themed around tofu.

"You don't need to go through the trouble. We're just suspicious outsiders, right? What if we devour all these dishes and make a run for it?" El Dust teased while didn't forget his usual musing.

"See what I told you, Rin?! They're definitely bad guys! Evil incarnate! How could they even think to eat my tofu as well!?"「Higokumaru」 

"Well, let's calm down, Higokumaru. I don't think they're someone you could even call evil incarnate, although they're indeed suspicious."「Yae Rin」

El Dust felt flattered by the skeptical gaze of the little girl placing a tray beside him. Having a girl suspicious of him was the greatest honor, or so he believed.

"L-Look that way! These are mine!" Higokumaru interjected.

And as El Dust observed Higokumaru attempting to block his view of a plate of tofu, a mischievous side of El Dust seemed to awaken.

"You wouldn't do that, right? I know this smells good and nice, but you can't eat others' share! Now that's what I call a bad person," Yae Rin scolded, albeit slightly intimidated by the man she met for the first time.

However, when she saw something not right happening, Yae Rin felt the need to put a stop to it.

"Kukuku, I can see how caring you are. How about you, Lady Moriarty? Will you choose the path of evil and eat all of this tofu, or maybe stay on the way of justice and eat your own share of tofu?"「El Dust」

[... I don't understand, why make this such a big deal.] Moriarty tilted her head.

Moriarty's perspective was valid. It was just a dish made from soybeans, commonly found in many places. Moreover, if she wanted, Moriarty could create a tofu forest in that area.

Therefore, the situation before her truly left her a bit perplexed.

"Huhu, I guess so milady. We mustn't become so heated just for a piece of bread."「El Dust」

"This is tofu!"「Higokumaru」

"We're humans, and humans are absolute predators. We could eat anything and even anyone."「El Dust」

"Huh? What do you mean... W,wait the tofu is here you know?"「Higokumaru」

Even when he knew that Yae Rin and Moriarty were right, El Dust continued to play with his misleading words. Upon realizing that El Dust's gaze was no longer directed at the plate of tofu at the end of his words, Higokumaru started to think that something bad might happen to herself.

"We have brains to think hard, wear our favorite clothes, and even legs to choose our own path. Because we're undoubtedly human beings. It makes me wonder, what does fried fox taste like, huh? Kukuku." El Dust chuckled with a malicious showed from his smile.

"H, hhaaaa! Help me, Rin!" the small humanoid-fox run away to her protector.

"Alright, stop teasing Higokumaru! She's scared you're now going to gobble her up, here! You can take my share if you really want more! And... does milady want some as well?"「Yae Rin」

[... I'll take it.] (Moriarty)

After the playful banter, they finally enjoyed the scenery and atmosphere peacefully. Though a small floating fox still harbored some disbelief, they all took a deep breath to calm the previously heated atmosphere.

"Many thanks, Miko. Before we are considered time-wasting, first, allow me to introduce our names."「El Dust」

"Great, I'll do the same as well! Then which one will be the first?"「Yae Rin」

"Them, of course. Jeez... you really need to learn how to be careful, Rin. Didn't he just say it now?"「Higokumaru」

"Ah, ehehe, sorry, I seem to be too excited."「Yae Rin」

In the end, they resumed their conversation casually.

Starting with introductions that were previously interrupted, how they managed to enter the village, and the reasons behind Moriarty changing into a school uniform.

"You passed through that forest? By walking? Somehow I can't believe it. There's a mystical barrier that protects this village all the way until that forest, so how could you..." Higokumaru questioned as she floats around El Dust.

"Kukuku, "cutting" things is my specialty, you see? But well, with Moriarty around, that barrier you spoke of might become something futile." as he create a symbol of scissors with his finger, he replied joyously.

"Look, Higokumaru! It's a real city school uniform! The one Sakura Onee-chan showed us in the magazine!" while those two talk with each other, Yae Rin appeared to be glued with Moriarty.

"Rin, if you're too excited, you'll be considered uncouth."「Higokumaru」

El Dust also later obtained additional information about Yae Rin from the fox spirit, which revealed that Yae Rin is the second child of the Yae family.

Initially, he thought the little girl was the shrine maiden guarding the temple, but it turned out she has an older sister who is the actual shrine maiden.

"The girl rarely sees anything coming from outside the village, so please forgive her if she seems a bit clingy like mochi." Higokumaru reasoned, as she glance at Moriarty who nodded at her.

"There must be an interesting reason for it then?"「El Dust」

"Well, there is, but I won't tell you outsiders! Hmph, especially to someone who wants to eat my tofu!"「Higokumaru」

Their gazes returned to Yae Rin, who was still in awe of Moriarty's uniform.

As El Dust started to contemplate something about Yae Rin, he began to suspect if the girl was indeed the one referred to as the cursed child of Yae Village, or in other words, the important figure Moriarty mentioned earlier.

'Am I right?'「El Dust」

Moriarty nodded as if answering his question. Although she was engaged in observing the two cherry blossom-haired creatures, she continued to keep an eye on El Dust and his thoughts.

Then as she keep noticing how Moriarty's gaze shifted toward the man, Yae Rin also became curious.

"Machi onii-san, Moriarty's nee outfit is very cute, isn't it?" Yae Rin said, and a sense of happiness could be felt within the tone she expressed. For now, El Dust also decided to adopt that name as his alias. Machi, the nickname he held in this world.

"Indeed, if my brother were here, he'd say you're absolutely cute, but... why with the question?"「El Dust」

"Since earlier, Moriarty keeps looking in your direction. I thought she actually wanted to get praise from you or something like that. Right, Moriarty nee-san?" with pushing Moriarty forward, Yae Rin expressed her feeling.

[...] However, although what Yae Rin just said has some truth to it, Moriarty cannot agree.

It's true that the timeless girl wants to receive praise from someone she likes, but when considering who El Dust is and what the persona really are, Moriarty becomes conflicted once again. In silence, without saying anything, Moriarty then bows her head.

"(Whisper) Ehhh... did I maybe probe too much? I didn't know their relationship seems difficult. Is that how couples are?"「Yae Rin」

The girl soon know something was wrong, calling Higokumaru to her side she further asked the same.

"(Whisper) Rin, we don't know everything about the two of them. Maybe they are having a disagreement and came here to reconcile. That's how relationships among humans are sometimes. That's what I know."「Higokumaru」

"(Whisper) Where do you know about that, Higokumaru?"「Yae Rin」

"(Whisper) Sakura-aneki told me about that!"「Higokumaru」

St. Freya Academy, renowned for both academic brilliance and specialized training, was a beacon for youth seeking knowledge and professional development. 

Its sprawling campus offered state-of-the-art facilities tailored to cater to a diverse range of pursuits, whether in the realms of scholarly exploration or honing skills for battle.

In the vibrant city of Soukai, where towering buildings touched the sky and the hustle and bustle of urban life echoed through the streets, the St. Freya International Academy stood as a symbol of excellence and tradition. 

Its roots, embedded centuries ago, had grown into a prestigious network of educational institutions across the globe, with one of its esteemed branches nestled in the heart of Soukai City.

"Thus concludes the series of opening ceremonies at the academy today. To the new students, I bid you my farewell for today opening ceremony."

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the ceremony for the admission of new students at the Soukai branch came to a close. 

The principal, a petite girl with striking white hair gracefully stepped down from the podium, capturing the attention of the eager crowd after her long period of speech.

"Feel free to use your free time wisely alright?"

With those words, a collective sigh of relief swept through the assembly, and the new students, clad in the distinctive St. Freya uniforms, erupted into cheers and laughter. 

The students stretched their bodies, joked with their friends, and some were surprised to find out that the little girl on the podium was their headmistress. Whatever they wanted to do, the atmosphere was lively and carefree.

Amidst the sea of students, there're Kiana and Sirin in their St. Freya uniforms as well. They pretty much stood out like mysterious figures in the vibrant tapestry of the academy.

However there's something, their expressions betrayed a sense of discontent and despite the festivities, the duo seemed determined to depart the lively scene.

"Both of you, the principal has summoned us."「Bianca」 

Fortunately, it wasn't long before Bianca arrived, intervening and thwarting their apparent plans.

Reluctantly, Kiana and Sirin followed Bianca through the bustling throng, weaving their way towards the main building where the headmistress's room awaited. 

The animated atmosphere of the courtyard gradually faded as they stepped into the hallowed halls, the weight of their purpose settling upon them.

"Che, we got something more important to do out there. Why do we even need to talk with her?" Kiana voiced her discontent.

"I understand what you think, Kiana, but acting without a clear goal will only complicate things for more people. Perhaps the principal, has something that can help us."「Bianca」

"Does she already know about onii's disappearance?" inquired Sirin.

"It seems so. Maybe that's why she invited us for a private conversation. Follow me, you might get lost later. As your senior, it'll be my duty to guide you freshmen."「Bianca」 

"I'm not a kid, geez."「Kiana」

Walking the path Bianca had taken, the three sisters couldn't help but be captivated by various sights around St. Freya Academy. Despite their lingering concern over El Dust's recent actions, the beauty and uniqueness of the surroundings brought a glimmer of brightness to their small round around trip.

"Is it just me or... are we taking a detour? Principal's office should be over there?" Sirin asked, observing the surroundings.

"Yeah, the principal told me earlier that this is a day not to be passed with a heavy heart, it'll be fine if we take some glance around here," replied Bianca, looking around with a meaningful expression.

"Bianca... you seem fine, though." looking at how usual her sister acted, Kiana can't help but thought so.

As they passed things such as a large pond teeming with fish, walls seemingly suitable for jumping, groups of students actively engaged in their clubs, or just a passing mascot, everything caught their attention despite their lingering worries.

"Don't get me wrong, Kiana. I'm confused and worried just like you two. But you know how brother is, right? He'll come back for sure, but maybe not so soon."「Bianca」 

Their focus started to shift from tension to the beauty around them, helping to alleviate the weight on their shoulders.

The intricate details and decorations that adorned the hallways added to the sense of wonder and reverence for the academy.

"Now that I think about it, hey Kiana, do you still have the hairpin given by onii?" Sirin asked.

"Ehh, as if we're pets. And didn't Sirin just use '-chan' in your name? Doesn't that count as well?"「Kiana」

"Kiana, you'd be happy if someone called you young and beautiful, right? The principal is the same."「Bianca」

"... I really can't understand how older women think—hiiii!!!" receiving a death glare from the tiny principal, Kiana took her seat away from her.

Following that, a smart whiteboard also appeared, descending from the ceiling like a piece of cutting-edge technology. It illuminated and underwent calibration several times, akin to a computer screen before eventually displaying a map that they could easily recognize.

"Besides his odd behavior and way of speaking, is there anything else? ... Ah, if I remember correctly, when he's alone in the room with that girl, he often mentioned the phrase 'my brother' this and that. But, you know... does he have a brother other than us?" Kiana wondered.

"Possibly... anything else?" Bianca seemed to be considering the possibility that someone else might have been involved in the arrival of the foreign girl, and calmly urged Kiana to continue.

"Aniki didn't bring anything, not even his phone. So, I believe he doesn't have any money with him now. As for Moriarty girl, her clothes don't have pockets or any space to store things. She also didn't bring a purse or bag like women usually do."「Kiana」

"In other words, they're penniless."「Bianca」

"Theresa-chan and Onii, you two don't have any relationship anymore. Then why is your face like that?" Sirin asked.

"No need to say it, I already know. Our relationship is just in the past. Now, I just want to help you as my nieces. That's all," Theresa responded, as she closed her eyes to hide whatever showed in her heart.

Sirin's suspicion was correct, Theresa's expression was indeed related to a past relationship, most likely connected to what Overseer Otto mentioned about the "former fiancé."

"... I think Theresa-chan just wants to help us because she wants to meet Onii."「Sirin」

"That's one reason, but didn't I tell you? I also have another mission, so I can't be selfish and prioritize my relationship alone."「Theresa」

"... So you do want to meet him, huh. Heh, I guess adults have their own way." Sirin, with a hint of mockery, cast a sidelong glance at Theresa. It seemed she wasn't particularly fond of her aunt.

They actually wanted to immediately reject the words just spoken by the principal, but they're also aware that opposing the principal's words would lead to a very lengthy matter.

However, since it was still nothing more than a threat, there had to be some ways around it. Theresa had simply stated that they would be punished if caught absent during their first day—a punishment that could only materialize if they were caught not following the principal's instructions.

"So, as long as we don't get caught, it's fine, right?"「Kiana」

Initially, they basked in a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere, engaging in light conversation as newfound friends. The air was filled with the delightful sounds of their laughter, complemented by the shared enjoyment of bites and sips of the provided tofu and tea.

However, a sudden shift occurred.

The once calm and serene ambiance was disrupted by an unknown force.

This mysterious power unraveled the seal that had contained the hidden demonic energy within the temple, and it also unveiled the true form of the diminutive humanoid-fox, Higokumaru into a giant beast with fiery flames.

[In this village, there exists a figure known as the spirit guardian of the old Sakura tree. Her presence is acknowledged by the Yae family lineage and revered by the villagers.] (Moriarty)

"Kukuku, yes I can see it. But looks like she's still holding her power."「El Dust」

[However, witnessing the numerous wrongdoings of humanity, the guardian spirit turned evil, transforming into a nine-tailed fox monster that once devastated the village.] (Moriarty)

The timeless girl continued her narration, closely following El Dust's movements as he skillfully dodged the colossal claws of the ferocious beast attempting to strike him.

In contrast to Moriarty, who seemed impervious to any damage from the colossal monster's claws, El Dust, unfortunately, was not as fortunate. He could be wounded, scratched, or even scorched by Higokumaru's attacks, for reasons unknown as to why that small fox-like creature had taken on her current form.

[When the spirit was at peace, she sealed herself within the temple, and what remains is... the current form of Higokumaru. That's where the beginning of Higokumaru's closeness to Yae Rin lies. Not only were they both often ostracized by many in the present, but they also had numerous opportunities to meet each other.] (Moriarty)

"Their bond seems like a friendship, doesn't it? A friend of man and beast, a connection between a lonely girl and a regretful beast," added El Dust.

The fox monster roared, causing the villagers who heard it to flee in terror. Its tails ignited like a raging fire, releasing numerous fireballs that El Dust had to fend off using a small pair of scissors.

In addition to performing miracles when cut, and combined with its capability to emerge through dimensional rifts at any position, El Dust quickly halted Higokumaru's rampage, restoring the small fox monster to her chibi humanoid form.

"Higokumaru! Are you okay?" Yae Rin gently caught the small fox humanoid monster, appearing on the verge of tears.

"Uuuuh... my head hurts," groaned Higokumaru.

The situation quickly came under control, although El Dust now noticed a group of villagers approaching them. At least, there was no fox monster capable of wreaking havoc on the village anymore.

Nevertheless, it didn't mean he would let those responsible for causing all this go without consequences.

"That's easier than what I expected. Now, it's interrogation time," stated El Dust while Moriarty remained silent.

"Huhuhu, if you stay silent, it's almost like admitting it milady. I suspected as much, your behavior became a bit suspicious after we entered the village. Is there something bothering you?" El Dust probed.

Moriarty continued to stay silent, but with a gaze that concealed sharp emotions directed to where El Dust stood. As a girl with her own heart, she continued to stare at El Dust with her intense emotions, while El Dust himself gazed back with a grin that seemed ominous.

The persona itself wasn't idle either, allowing Yae Rin and Higokumaru to stay behind his Rope, he prevent the two of them from the unseen tension.

"Higokumaru, what happened to Onii-san and Nee-san? Why do they look like... that?" Yae Rin asked, expressing her concern.

"...I'm sorry, Rin. Honestly, I don't know what happened. But just now, right before I lost control of my sealed power... I sensed the scent of that girl."「Higokumaru」

"Eh?! So, they might already know who you are? But why did Moriarty nee-san make you..." Yae Rin trailed off.
