Chapter 91 Resolve

Konoha Hospital.

Standing near the window of the second floor, Tsunade with a worried look gazed at the alarmed village outside but despite all not leaving the hospital, the words of the man who had left a while ago still ringing in her head.

"Just… what could have happened? He didn't even shed a single tear…

With a distressed expression, Tsunade muttered to herself, replaying the scene of the recent events that unfolded after she announced her death, over and over in her mind.

"Was he always this cold or did I never saw through him?" Said Tsunade while tilting her head to look at the sky which was slowly getting covered with dark clouds, the wind picking up as well.

She had always considered Kazuki to be somewhat similar to her good old friend Orochimaru, a genius who didn't like talking and showing much emotion, but inwardly he cared for others more than anyone just like Orochimaru cared for them, her brother.

But the way Kazuki had reacted at his mother's death had been etched in her mind; laughing, smiling and not showing a hint of sadness.

Swish!

Just as Tsunade was lost in her thoughts, her hair suddenly rustled due to a sudden movement behind her as she turned around immediately with a vigilant face.

But that wary look didn't last long as behind her was someone who had been the center of her thoughts for a while.

"Kazu_

"I need you to come with me Lady Tsunade, it concerns Nawaki's safety"

Tsunade opened her mouth to say something at his sudden appearance but Kazuki interrupted with an urgent look on his face

Thud!

"What!!? What happened to him!!?"

Tsunade completely forgot about everything she had been thinking for a while after hearing Kazuki's words, with a panicked face stepping forward to put a hand on the latter's shoulder and inquiring in a loud tone, unknowingly applying a lot of force on his shoulders.

Feeling his shoulder bone nearly cracking, Kazuki didn't show a slight look of pain and keeping calm answered her query.

"He was kidnapped by someone during the chaos created by the tail beast emergence but you don't need to worry much as I already know where he is being held"

"I need you to come with me just in case he is injured and needs immediate medical care" Kazuki assured her bringing a light smile on his face, also explaining why he had appeared here in the first place rather than going to rescue nawaki directly.

"Then what are waiting for, let's go!!" Hearing Kazuki knew about her brother's whereabouts, Tsunade didn't wanna waste a moment as she urged him to go rescue him with her.

Zap!

Nodding Kazuki raised his hand to hold her shoulder as next moment both of them vanished from the hospital.

At the outskirts of the village, through the use of seals and genjutsu a large building with an equally large basement was treated like it never existed by civilians and even some weaker shinobi.

This was the headquarters of an organization that not many in the village were aware of, Root.

At this moment with in the basement of the building, in a room that was slightly lit by some candles and was mostly submerged in darkness, three figures stood facing each other.

"She failed… I have received report of Kazuki Aoyama appearing to deal with the tail beasts"

Said the man in a slightly angry tone, an x shaped mark on his chin as his only eye focused on two figures standing before him, one a man with silver hair and the other a girl with long black hair.

At his words both of them shook like they had received some kind of huge shock and showed a helpless face.

Seeing them silent, Danzo took a deep breath and spoke up again.

"Now that the first plan has failed I have no choice but to go with the second"

"I have already prepared the confession of your three finding about war hero Kazuki Aoyama's plan to control the nine tails and seven tails and for the village transcending the boundary of family and dying in an attempt to stop him"

"Keiko Aoyama was supposed to be the hero who stopped the war hero's plan to destroy the hard won peace and you two were supposed to live the rest of your lives bathing in honor granted by her courage of killing her own son"

"But that's not possible anymore and you two have to die fighting him to death as well now; only that way the civilians good view of him would be completely destroyed and his death won't bring any retaliation from within the village"

Danzo's words fell and there was a long silence, the eyes of Ryo and Yui, especially the latter's showing a look of despair, the body shaking like hit by severe cold and heart beating fast.

But just when both were going through the tough battle of making a choice between love and village, the candle in the room flickered and the konoha headband gleamed taking their attention.

Thud!

"Anything for the village, Elder Danzo!"

Immediately both of them went on one knee and the determined voices rang in the room.
