The Tale of Mattia

The battleground looked not as terrifying as the temple where Adam was sealed.

The fallen Jurrasic Dragon was more significant than the one that she had met. A large wound was made on the chest, and it was as if the heart of the dragon was ripped out.

Crystal was horrified and couldn't help but feel pity and rage on behalf of the dragons.

Crystal was placed down by the Red Raptor. Trees and moss were growing inside, and Crystal observed the area.

"The Temple of Adam didn't have leaves of moss growing inside. Could this mean that this place was opened up some years ago?" Crystal pondered.

The Jurassic Dragon coiled up and sat down next to her fallen husband. It looked as if she was talking to the corpse.

Crystal could somehow sense the emotions of the Jurassic Dragon. She was joyful and hopeful as she narrated the day's events to her husband.

"…?! That dragon!" Crystal suddenly jolted. Her soul was very sensitive now. But a dormant soul was resting in the corpse!

"...It's still alive?!" Crystal was amazed. Adam had told her that the Dragons have an unbelievable lifespan and that they will cling to a faint line of life even upon death.

The Jurassic Dragon turned to Crystal as it noticed her reaction.

It gave her a deep, quiet look as if trying to tell her something.

Crystal gazed at her deep eyes and somehow saw her soul.

Suddenly, the entire world changed, and the temple became a dark region. Crystal had a vision of the past!

The doors swung open, and five men appeared.

These five were different from the first team except for the one wielding the dark orb.

The rest had different weapons, and unlike before, they charged in with recklessness and courage.

A battle between the five men and the male Jurassic Dragon broke out.

But just as they were about to kill, the female Jurassic Dragon suddenly appeared as the wind whirled.

BITE!

One of the five was immediately slain.

The ambush allowed the male to fight back, and he managed to wound and bite the limbs of another and strike down the rest.

Only the one wielding the orb was spared, and suddenly, the familiar and deadly magic appeared once more.

"Sacrifice…" Crystal muttered the name of the attack. She had learned most of what the former Five that Adam fought as to their abilities and attacks.

Wave after wave of attacks was shot out as three of the four gave up their souls and summoned the magic of their weapons.

The scene was too fast for Crystal to understand. Flashes and explosions occurred, and what followed was that the man with the orb was fleeing, carrying the heart of the dragon.

The scenes suddenly changed, and Crystal was brought into another Temple.

It was the temple where Adam was!

His awakening replayed how they fought the five and how Adam fought and slew the group.

Crystal saw herself fall into a trance and unleash a massive amount of ice, and soon, the scene of the mountain falling on them occurred. Finally, the scene of Adam's departure isbrings Crystal's painful emotions back.

The vision ended, and Crystal was back to the present.

A faint light taking the form of Adam's Monarch Dragon was standing over her, and its giant paws patted the Jurassic Dragon's head.

The Jurassic Dragon was petrified with shock and fright as the mighty Emperor of Dragons appeared and slowly vanished.

It glanced at Crystal, and somehow, their souls were connected. It did not speak with human words, but Crystal could understand the thoughts of the dragon's soul dragon's soul.

"Mat...tia…" A strange thought was heard in Crystal's mind.

"Mattia?" Crystal called the dragon's name.

The dragon nodded.

"Um… I am Crystal. But I guess you already knew that?"

Mattia nodded again.

So many emotions and thoughts flooded Crystal.

Crystal was surprised to find that the dragon was smart! So smart that it was like Crystal was communicating with a human!

"It is... a surprise and a delight to meet the beloved of the Dragon Emperor. And to know... that he lives on."

Crystal could not help but blush at how she was addressed.

"Be warned, little Empress. Do not casually show the two soul powers in her. Fate and destiny would chase you if this truth were spread. You are hidden from them, but do expose it to them!"

"You know of Fate and Destiny?" Crystal asked.

"All… dragons... Are cursed by Phatom. Despite our intellect and power… we cannot wield the knowledge and power… that you humans… possess."

Crystal was shocked.

"What do you mean you cannot wield it?"

"It is a deep mystery, oh little Empress Dragon… It is… simply out of our will… We cannot imagine wielding, building, using, and crafting things like humans can. We are… simply put, cursed to be like beasts. You fight against a powerful foe, you and the Dragon Emperor. We cannot fight against Fate and Destiny. It is against our will to do so, just as a dog has no will, desire, or even thoughts on how to fly."

"...May I ask about your daughter?"

"...It is amazing that you managed to reveal the ice in you, Little Empress. I would have eaten you. But in this, I ask you to save my daughter."

"Why is she in the body of a Raptor?"

"I was pregnant when I fought those five. As you have seen, though my husband protected me, I was still harmed at the last strike. The last of the Five fled with my husband's heart and dared not to fight me. But the attack I received wounded my daughter's body. I had no choice but to implant her soul on the eggs of those Raptors."

"But the body cannot withstand the great heat…"
