"SHE is not a slut!"

"Sheena, keep your mouth shut!"

"Sheena!" exclaimed someone.

I no longer know who said every word. An invisible, warm slap on the face destroyed me with embarrassment.

I lowered my head in humiliation. That insult was not only heard by Sheena's parents. Almost everyone here at the table was directly pouring their eyes at me, including some politicians.

Camish placed his hand on my wrist as if he was trying to console me.

"What got into you, Sheena? Have you forgotten that today is your mother's birthday?" I heard Daddy Niro's controlled voice.

I remained my head down. I don’t know how to defend myself. I wondered if I'd done something wrong to Sheena to cause her to say that.

"Why? It‘s true," Sheena was mad. I'd never guess she's the cheerful Caleb’s girlfriend I met the other day.

"What are you doing, Sheena? Stop this!" Caleb scolded her.

"Why are you defending her? I'm your girlfriend!" Resentment was evident through her voice.
