A small party was currently traveling on a big dirt road. It consisted of a carriage with 9 men on horseback surrounding it. They wore a mix of iron armor and fur cloaks and were well-armed. One would think it was a mercenary group hired to protect a merchant.
Little did they know that a king was sitting in that carriage. That king was Kane.
He had been traveling for 2 days now and it was the morning of his third day on the road. His group would arrive in about 10 minutes.
The road was surrounded by trees and all seemed calm. There was a cool breeze and the only sounds that could be heard were coming from far away birds. That is until a "twang" sound was heard and Jags armor clanking while rolling off his horse.
An arrow could be seen dug into the trunk of a tree that was right behind Jag.
"Enemy attack! Get in defensive positions!" yelled a guard.
Immediately all the guards got into defensive positions around the carriage.
Arrows poured down upon them. It was an ambush.
"Sir are you alright?" asked Jag.
"I am fine you are the ones outside fending off all these arrows," said Kane while exiting the carriage.
"I think it's time we deal with these scum don't you Jag?"
"Yes sir! Shall we rush into the trees and meet them face to face?"
"My thoughts exactly Jag. You and your men run into trees to the left. From the number of arrows, I reckon there should be about 5 bandits on your side and 6 or 7 on my side. Let's go!"
Kane ran to the right with the Kokari honor guard while Jag ran to the left with his men. When Kane reached the treeline he noticed his attackers. His guard quickly used bows to shoot the majority down while Kane ran and impaled one with his lance. Then using the tip of the handle he knocked another unconscious.
When it rains hard it does not last for long. Sure enough, the storm arrows soon ceased and the forest became quiet again.
Kane walked out into the road and met with Jag. Both their men were safe and only had slight wounds.
"Sir we killed them all," said Jag.
"Good I managed to capture one myself. He is out cold but we can integrate him when he wakes up. Clean up the mess and gather the horses. We still have a town to get to," responded Kane.
"Will do sir but we lost 2 horses to the arrows."
"That's fine the guards can ride with me," said Kane.
They cleaned up and left the area. When They were very close, Kane decided to wake up the captive and interrogate the man.
After waking the man realized he was bound by ropes.
"What do you want?" asked the bandit angrily. He still acted aggressively even after being captured.
"Well hello to you too. I am Kane and it is lovely to make your acquaintance. May I know what you go by?"
"That's none of your damn business! You best kill me and get it done with!"
Before Kane could respond one of the guards hit the man.
"How dare you act like that in front of his highness!"
The man looked shocked. He probably did not think he was talking to royalty.
"Anyways I am curious why you attacked me and my men. Mind enlightening me?"
"You are lucky it was just us. If Cleaver was here he would make you suffer!"
"Hmm, interesting. Is this Cleaver your daddy? Or the leader of your band of brigands?"
"He leads the Steel Snakes! I advise you to get out of here and maybe you will live. You are in his territory king! You should leave your stuff as well because he will def....."
The man's neck was slashed with a knife before he could finish his sentence.
"This bandit group is pretty interesting. Maybe we can gather some more knowledge when we arrive" said Kane.
"Speaking of arriving sir we have arrived. Welcome to Crazus Town!"
