I look at the girl, flash a smile of my own, and reply, "I want to register as an adventurer, can you help us with that Miss?"

"Just call Revel or Amanda if you prefer."

"Ok, Miss Amanda can you help us with that?"

"Yes, I can," Amanda pulled out some paper below the counter and gave it to us.

I took the paper and read its contents.

"It's smaller than I expected, I thought the guild asked more," I said out loud.

After 5 minutes of questions and filling up more documents the registration was completed and she told us some rules of the guild and some important information that we needed to know, such as the 3 important rules of adventurer, stealing prey is not allowed, committing crimes will get punished by the guild the heaviness of the punishment depends on how serious the crime, and lastly, War between Familia are prohibited unless your Familia filed war games to the guild.

"Thanks for your help, Miss Amanda."

"You welcome, sir if you want to take some job, go to the second floor where the bulletin board of Quest is located," Amanda said with a smile.

I nodded my head and went upstairs to check it out.

Princess Luciada who is just watching from start to finish spoke.

"Sir John, you know that I can't fight, why did you register me?" Princess Luciada inquired."

"Princess, I planned to train you, so you can defend yourself in the future," I calmly replied.

Princess Luciada nodded her head in understanding.

"Sir John, could you just call me Luciada?"

I raise my eyebrows, "Ok, call me without honorific then."

"I understand, John," Luciada said with a bright smile.

"Oh well, let's go then Luciada to the second floor," I said with a funny gesture, trying to make her laugh which I succeeded.

Seeing my actions, Luciada couldn't help to giggle.

The male adventurer who was watching Luciada was mesmerized by her beauty, while the women were just ignoring the guys while rolling their eyes and commenting in their minds, [men].

On the other hand, the small group of women who were watching John's actions while smiling gently, thinking [What good man, she's a lucky girl].

Under the gazes of many people, I and Luciada continue to walk towards the second floor.

When we reach there, we are greeted by a large wall of bulletin boards displaying many quest papers ranging from subjugation, Nameless forest expedition, material and ingredients gathering, rescue mission, escort mission intel gathering, and more.

The Bulletin Board was divided into two parts, The Familia Bulletin Board and The Regular Bulletin Board.

Familia Bulletin Board contains Quests that can only be taken by a Familia or an adventurer who is a member of a Familia, while The Regular Bulletin Board contains Quests that can be taken by both adventurers who are not a member of a Familia and adventurers who are in a Familia.

There are two types of adventurers, The Regular and the Chosen, A Regular adventurer is an adventurer who doesn't receive any Falna from the Gods and is not a member of any Familia at the moment. on the other hand, a Chosen Adventurer is an adventurer who received Falna and it was a member of a Familia.

All the requests on Both Bulletin Board are ranked from D, C, B, A, S to Great Quest.

D was the lowest rank of Quests that you could get and the highest was the Great Quest.

Right now both I and Luciada are classified as Regular adventurers and we were ranked as D-rank adventurers in the Regular Adventurers Ranking. Because of this, we can only accept D-rank Quests.

The regular Adventurers Ranking system has ranks from D to S rank, in Regular Adventurers the level of the Adventurers is mostly ignored, in this type of adventurer their strength and worth are determined by their achievement, ranks, and the amount of quests that you completed.

The Chosen Adventure is ranked from the third class to S-class adventurer

3rd class = levels 1 to 2.

2nd Class = levels 3 to 4.

1st Class = levels 5 to 7.

S Class = levels 8 to 10.

In the ranks of Chosen Adventurer, levels rank supreme, an adventurer who has a higher level is 98% would win against the lower levels.

I and Luciada look at the bulletin board, searching for a good quest to take.

By the way, if you are wondering how Princess Luciada could communicate and read in this world even though she is not from this world, well it's very simple, Princess Luciada has a chip planted in her mind that could analyze, learn, and translates any language that she could hear or read.

I on the other hand already knew every language that exists and doesn't exist thanks to the research and technologies that I made in the past.

"John, what do you think about this quest," Luciada said while pointing at a certain quest paper on the bulletin board.

"Gathering Epokte Herbs for 7,000 valis, well that's a good quest to take for a beginner, we will take the subjugation quest tomorrow, what do you think Luciada," I remark.

"It's fine, I'll prepare for tomorrow," Luciada said with an unwavering gaze, she already guessed what I was trying to say to her.

Seeing her reaction, I nodded my head in approval.

I ripped off the quest paper on the bulletin board and then went downstairs to verify and deal with all the formalities of taking the quest.

I and Luciada walk for 2 hours before we reach the west gate.

At the city gate we were stopped by the guard who was guarding the gate, this guard was a level 2, while the knight who was standing above the city walls was level 4.

I nodded my head in response, Luciada on the other hand kept quiet letting me do the talking.

"I identification card," said the guard.

I took out the guild card and let the guard check my guild card.

Every adventurer receives guild cards from the guild once they register as an adventurer.

"Ok, you may now go."

I nodded my head to the guard and walked forward but when we gained a bit of a distance, the guard added another sentence like he remembered something.

"By the way, the city gate will close at 7:30 pm, don't forget to come back, will never accept any people outside the gates at that time!"

I wave my hand to the guard without looking back.

Luciada came closer to me and asked in a low voice.

"John, did this world already have some watch?"

"Yes, it does, thanks to the gods who live among the mortals, the world is a bit advanced in other areas, especially in their living conditions," I said with a thoughtful look.

"This is the Epokte, most low-ranking adventurers didn't take this quest because of the unique characteristics of this herb."

"What characteristics?" Luciada asks while tilting her head in curiosity.

"Well, this herb, likes to grow amidst the Leprosor grass which is the bluegrass that we are seeing right now, the Leprosor grass is much taller than the herb, and because of this, the herb is well hidden from sight."

"Oh well enough chit-chat let's start gathering them."

"Yey!" Luciada enthusiastically shouted while raising her fist in the air.

At that cue, we started.

Luciada with a smile, parted the grass with her hands looking for the herbs.

I on the other hand already knew where the herb was located, I only managed to do this because of my adept knowledge of all the ingredients and materials that exist, and even those that don't.

An hour later, a large bag was hanging on my back while Luciada was carrying a small handbag, even though small it was still heavy, and because of this, she carried it cutely in her hand, just imagine a cute and gullible girl trying to carry a heavy bag on her hands.

Luciada looked at me resentfully, "Why we don't use the storage space, John?"

"So that you can gain some experience, it will be troublesome if you become dependent on inventory space."

Luciada puffs her chicks in anger, because of this action all of her elegance and beauty is thrown out of the window, turning it into cuteness.

At the corner, Luciada was looking at John and the guard with confused eyes, she didn't understand anything about what the two talking about.

"Yes, Elves are the ones who first encountered and fought those things so they are the ones who named it."

"I'll keep that in mind then."

I waved my hand bidding goodbye, I and Luciada walked In the lively night street of Blue Rose City.

While John and Luciada disappeared into the lively street.

The guards who were guarding the gate started to move.

"Reporting, Chief Guard, it was exactly 7:30 pm now."

Hearing his subordinate report, the chief guard shouted, "Close The gates!"

His voice resounded hundreds of meters away and because of this, all the guards heard it.

The guards started to close the huge gate of the western gate of the city, in the other gates such as the east, south, and northern gates of the city were doing the same thing as the western gate.

With a loud sound, all the gates of the city were closed.

10 minutes later, at exactly 7:40 pm.

An ere sound started to be produced from the forest, at the same time the sound of a bell resounded in the night and all was coming from the forest.

Many silhouettes with incomprehensible shapes emerge from the forest

Followed by countless glowing lanterns twinkling like stars amidst the forest woods.

The guards who were watching on top of the city walls couldn't see the appearance of the silhouettes, even so, they already knew what they looked like and the horrors that could bring to anyone who fortunately saw their grotesque figure.

All the new guards on top of the city wall watching started to feel fear.

The recruits fell to the ground in horror, peeing themselves inside their light armor, veterans only shook their heads unfaced, they already experienced the baptism of horror that the monster in front of them brought, developing their resistance.

The silhouette's true appearance was revealed thanks to the moon's gentle light.

The monster behind the silhouette has ten legs that look like human hands, a body that resemblance a horse, and a head that has a similar look to a human, on his face there are no eyes, nose, or ears, only a large mouth that reveals it's sharp teeth.

This grotesque monster was none other than Ambist, the creature of horror that the Blue Rose city knew.

Seeing this horde of grotesque monsters, the veterans who saw Amibist every night were unfaced while the recruit was shaking on their armored boots.

"This will be a long night," a guard muttered.

Silver Moon Inn.

After John and Luciada receive rewards from the guild, they go straight to the Silver Moon Inn to rest for another.
