Rose softened her voice and slightly lifted the thermos she had brought from Trenton Smith's villa toward him. "It's all ready. You can eat it tonight."
Trenton nodded.
Seeing his demeanor thaw like ice melting and flowers blooming in spring, Rose couldn't help but give herself a mental thumbs up.
As soon as Trenton returned to the office, she was going to ask him for a raise.
He definitely couldn't find a more capable secretary than herself.
After delivering the dinner, Rose slipped out quietly.
Norris slept on and on, from noon all the way into the afternoon.
Trenton, who held Norris as he took a nap, woke up and saw Norris still sleeping. He couldn't resist reaching out to touch her face, checking if she was sick.
Norris, in the midst of comfortable sleep, felt a hand caressing her face. Annoyed, she swatted the hand away. "Stop it."
Trenton was solidly slapped across the face.
