Sucking blood

Karl stood there contemplating for a while before asking;

"do you have a library? Are there no other ways to increase the saturation of your bloodline?"

"We do have a library, and you cannot increase the percentage amount of bloodline in your body, but you can cultivate and purify it, making it inherently stronger, sometimes even unlocking ancient bloodlines that came before the vampire nobles, though at that point it gets harder and harder to reach 100% bloodline saturation, and unlocking ancient bloodlines would trash the part of your bloodline that doesn't correspond to that ancient bloodline; effectively resetting your progress towards becoming a noble."

"do I have to be a part of some marriage ritual then?"

"well, yes and no, since the marriage is only in name, we can postpone the marriage up to 3 years, but It has to be completed by then, or the vampire registry won't allow you to take my name."

"can I become as strong or stronger than these nobles then?"

"again, yes and no, its possible, but it requires a lot of talent and luck, inherently nobles have a superior bloodline, so you're left with the disadvantage because nobles cultivate their bloodline and bodies way faster than normal vampires. Will you marry me?" she said impatiently.

"alright, lets do that then, show the way"

Alexandria pointed towards the castle on the horizon and said, "that's where my family lives, i'll show you to the library, while I go and talk to the patriarch about the marriage."

As they began walking, an eerie silence reigned over the fields, though the sun was out and about, he couldn't help but feel uncomfortable in the silence brought about by the absence of any animal or leaves for the wind to rustle, only the wind briefly broke the silence with a eerie wailing sound.

After walking for about an incense of time, Karl decisively broke the silence;

"Do you have anything I can eat, you kind of drank all my blood and now I'm starving, not to mention there are no animals, much less humans for miles on end?"

- Dumbass!

Requiem decided to use the chance to insult and take over the body in an attempt to counter the expected retaliation, after thinking about it he realized that he seemingly showed weakness, which would elicit another bout of fighting.

He barely survived the last one, and with his exhaustion he was already very weak.

What he didn't know was that his fightstyle had completely demoralized her, dodging every single attack while throwing "weak punches" until she fainted was a way of styling on her, telling her that "you ain't shit infront of my prowess, i dont even need to exert strength" in her head.

Though the vampire ignored his question, he stopped walking and decisively told her;

"if you think you can starve me, think again, I will wait here, bring me blood"

"Tch!" she scowled at Karl then turned around and went in the opposite direction, presumably towards the battlefield.

When she was about 30 meters away he heard her say;

"COME WITH ME; IM NOT GONNA CARRY A DAMNED BODY ALL THE WAY HERE JUST SO YOU CAN EAT!"

"what a proud bitch" he muttered as he began running towards her;

"AAAH?! What did you say!?" what frightening hearing ability…

"none of your business!" He said in a slightly louder voice

She turned around and stared at him for a while before frowning, she began walking again shortly after.

he followed after, this time keeping a distance of at least 30 meters between her and himself.

Arriving at the previous battlefield, he decided to find food himself, instead of leaving it to someone else. Searching around the battlefield he didn't see any still living people, but to make sure he asked requiem; "can you scan for life signs?"

- Indeed, though the range is quite short since I have to use your senses to scan, though I am more proficient at effectively using your sensory organs than you.

"then are there any suitable people I can eat in the area?"

- Not within these 30 meters, head over to that mound, I think I saw the chest of someone moving.

While heading towards the mound he didn't notice any discomfort related to the deaths of the people around him; while pondering on this he arrived and went up to a soldier, he looked about 25-30 years old.

Bending down he felt a weak pulse in the man's neck, though he didn't have a foot, and there seemed to be a makeshift compression bandage a bit lower than the knee.

Noticing this, Karl decided to drink his blood, he probably wouldn't amount to much in life after losing a foot anyway. If this was the modern world, he might have showed mercy, but there was no point when the foot couldn't be fixed anyway.

While Karl was sucking the blood, he felt an indescribable sense of euphoria;

"This might be a bit addictive" he thought as he continued sucking the blood out of the man.

After about 1 hour he decided it was enough and stopped sucking the blood and went back to Alexandria;

"lead the way"

"what about that man? You left some blood in him so he will turn into a dhampir if you leave him like that."

Hearing that, he turned around went over to the corpse, as he thought about it he decided to burn the man into ashes so he wouldn't survive.

"Do you have any means of setting this guy on fire?!" He shouted across the field.

Hearing this; Alexandria walked towards him before handing him a red crystal.

"That's a Bloodstone, the specialty of our Family, think hard about sucking this guy dry while letting this stone touch his remaining blood"

As he heard her say so, he cut up the mans stomach using the man's own sword, then placed the stone inside his stomach while thinking about that euphoric feeling he felt earlier. Suddenly, to Karl's surprise, he saw the originally pretty healthy-looking guy withering at speeds visible to the eye, he also felt an indescribable cold energy seeping into his arm from the stone.

"What's this cold stuff coming out of the stone?"

"… you're done "cleaning" him, right? Let's go, there will be plenty of information to answer your questions in the library, but to answer your question; that's the nutrition and vitality of that guy, being extracted and sent into your body, this way is much faster than just straight up sucking him dry, though you won't get any bloodline traces from him."
