The Battle of Os

November 8, 1924.

A week has passed since Felix and Tanya's altercation with Being-X, or should we say, Belial.

Since then Tanya went on the offensive against the Legadonia Entente Alliance in a much more aggressive way. Free from her shackles of curses, she felt unparalleled liberty for the first time she arrived in this world.

With those shackles gone, in addition with the golden apple she ate, her exceptional potential has become much more unprecedented.

For the Empire, she is like an angel in the battlefield dancing around delivering divine punishments left and right.

For the enemy, she is like the devil in the battlefield, writhing through the chaos and unleashing hellish torment left and right.

However, despite her power up, the frontline still remains stagnant.

War is not a solo job. It is composed of numerous divisions, armies, squads, so that a machine called the military will be made. If one of these 'gears' are removed, or is malfunctioning, the whole machine has a possibility of failure.

Try imagining a PC being run with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, with a GPU of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090… Yeah, the 4090 will be held back by a fucking lot. It's like Max Verstappen driving a fucking Toyota Corolla in NASCAR, It will work definitely, but it will be hella slow for Max Verstappen's drives.

Going back, War is not a solo job. Even if Tanya can go to every line in the front, if her surroundings are limiting her, there's nothing she can do.

The infantry of the Empire is being afflicted with numerous hardships. One such hardship is the weather. The weather is so fucking cold, to the point that their current clothes does not make sense anymore.

Tanya's wing on the other hand is doing great when it comes to supplies and such. However, their fatigue is piling up. Although Tanya can go to the battlefield anytime and still has the energy to do it again and again, her wing can't catch up to her…

A decisive plan that will overturn the current stagnant frontline must be concocted. This is the reason why a meeting of the general staff is being held. In this meeting, the attendance of Tanya and Felix is expected.

Currently. Tanya and Felix are walking down the hallway of the Northern Imperial Army Command.

Tanya is skipping a bit, whilst Felix dons a fed up expression.

Tanya, while skipping, looked towards Felix.

"Why the sad face?"

Felix stopped for a moment, which prompted Tanya to stop skipping and face Felix.

"You know why. I am being babied by the people here."

Tanya just shrugged her shoulders.

"You know I envy you right?"

"Yeah… I know… I am also worried about you. Also, I need the experience in fighting you know that?"

"Don't worry about me. These past few days I feel free! It's like my shackles that are previously weighing me down are suddenly removed. For the experience, don't worry about it, you will have the opportunity."

"Yeah…"

Felix then looked Tanya up and down which prompted Tanya to tilt her head.

"Why are you looking at me?"

Felix went into his thinking position. His right hand index and thumb fingers pinching his lips.

"Why are you staring?"

"You grew up."

Tanya was surprised. She didn't have the time to check her height. Previously, she gave up on her height because it has been years since her last inch… but now… Felix says that she grew up, so she was visibly excited.

"WAIT SERIOUSLY?!"

"Yeah. Do you wanna check?"

"YES!"

Tanya came closer towards Felix. With just mere 5 inches between them, Tanya checked her height by pushing her hair down atop her head with her right hand, and moving her hand towards Felix. It reached his shoulders.

"Wait. Did I really grow up?"

Tanya raised her head and looked towards Felix's face. She saw that he was looking towards his right, but she can see a blush creeping out of his face.

Felix then answered her question, while still looking towards his right.

"Ye-yeah. Y-you were up to my armpits the last time…"

Tanya, still close to Felix, laughed. Although the two were close, Tanya still regards Felix as a friend. Though there are a few feelings creeping out, she keeps it hidden to all. Oh, how hormones work.

"Pfft, your armpits? Are you checking my height eyy?"

Tanya moved back and just looked at Felix.

Felix, now looking straight towards Tanya, answered her.

"Well… I know you were concerned about your height, so every now and then, I am checking up on you…"

"That's admirable… sniff sniff, it makes me wanna cry."

"Shut it."

The two laughed together. Tanya, relieved of her laughter, urged Felix to hurry up towards the meeting room.

"Alright. Stop being a pain in the ass and let's hurry towards the meeting room."

Pain in the ass?

Pain… in… the… ass…

Pain…

Pain… in… her-

Felix slapped himself in order to relieve him from that train of thought.

Now relieved, he nodded towards Tanya, who was startled by his sudden slapping of himself. However, she just shrugged it off.

The duo walked towards the meeting room whilst chatting and joking.

Once they reached the room, they could see two guards at the post of the meeting room, who saluted towards the two of them.

"SALUTE! Your highness! Major!"

Felix eased them down with his right hand at waist level.

"At ease, soldiers. I am here for the meeting."

The two soldiers put down their salute and opened the door towards the meeting room.

Inside the meeting room, a thich haze surrounds the room. It feels like there was a cloud inside the meeting room, making the surroundings foggy and hazy.

The lingering smell of cigarettes permeated the air which irritated both Tanya and Felix's nose and throat.

As soon as the two entered the meeting room, all of the military commanders stood up and saluted towards Felix. Tanya beside him, saluted too.

Felix looked around the room and noticed a few familiar faces, namely Major General Zettour and Lieutenant Colonel Rerugen.

Inside the room, he can also see Lieutenant General Kurt von Rudersford, and other military officers who were stationed in the Northern Command.

He acknowledged all of them and eased them.

"At ease, men."

As soon as the words were said, all of the military officers put down their salutes and sat down at their respective places.

Felix and Tanya went to their own respective seats. Felix at the helm, and Tanya at the rear.

In the middle of the room, a whole map of the Legadonia Entente Alliance is spread on a large table.

Felix looked at this map and noticed how inaccurate the data is.

Before coming into the room, Felix tasked Carl, his escort, to bring the latest news from the frontline. The current news stated that the right frontline was pushed back for at least a 100m.

The map in the middle of the room states the situation 2 hours ago, which does not reflect the current situation.

Hmm, looks like the communication sector needs to be advanced too…

Information is a key in order to have the very minute details of the frontlines in every minute. With the proper information, generals in the rear can plan numerous plans at the very minute they receive the news.

Though radios and operation orbs are used for communication in the frontlines, their range is rather short, and most of them use telegraph wires, for the radios mostly.

Felix acknowledged that they need a communication device which can not be decoded easily, encrypted, and can be used at least 5 thousand meters away from each other.

While the whole room is enveloped in thick haze and silence, Felix went into his thinking position.

After a minute of thinking, he blurted out unknowingly.

"Hmm, revamped communications."

This startled the people in the room. They all acknowledged that the current military communications system is outdated. Most of it rely on telephone wires and short range radios. Some people even deliver personal messages by themselves…

Felix looked up and looked around the room. He was kinda startled since all of them were looking straight at him.

These officers knew that Felix is good at advancing military technologies, so they are kinda expecting something great coming from His Highness's factory this time again…

Felix looked straight at Tanya, who has 'what are you thinking?' plastered in her face.

Felix pointed up.

Tanya thought for a moment and suddenly slammed her tiny right fist against her other tiny hand and blurted out.

"Satellite!".

Satellite?

The military officers wondered.

Yes. The communication revamp that Felix has thought of is the Satellite phone.

Satellite phones, or satphones, are mobile devices that connect to orbiting satellites instead of terrestrial cell towers. This allows them to provide communication services in remote or isolated areas where traditional cell phone networks are unavailable.

In the military, satellite phones are essential communication tools, providing secure and reliable contact in remote and hostile environments where traditional communication infrastructure is either unavailable or compromised.

They play a crucial role in command and control, enabling military leaders to coordinate operations, issue orders, and receive real-time updates from the field. During emergencies, satellite phones serve as a lifeline, allowing troops to call for backup, medical evacuation, or air support.

Reconnaissance and intelligence teams rely on them to report findings and transmit critical information. Additionally, satellite phones facilitate coordination with allied forces during joint operations and are invaluable in humanitarian missions or disaster response, where they help military personnel coordinate relief efforts and communicate with other agencies.

Satellite phones can be used virtually anywhere on the planet, as they connect to satellites orbiting the Earth rather than terrestrial cell towers. This global reach ensures that military personnel can maintain communication across vast distances, from the polar regions to the middle of the ocean.

The ability to provide secure, encrypted communication channels further ensures the confidentiality and integrity of military operations, making satellite phones an indispensable asset in modern warfare.

That's why Felix has thought of the sat phone. With these advantages, real-time communication will be possible, even at the safety of his home.

With Felix's developing V2 rockets, the possibility of putting a satellite in the Earth's orbit is high. However, the prerequisite for that is to first finish the V2 rocket.

And with the other nations' current military might, they have no capacity to bring down a satellite.

Moving the thought aside for later, Felix looked around the room.

The officers are curious about Felix's new innovation, while Tanya has the face of 'Tell me more later.".

Looking around, he noticed that most of these officers are chronic smokers. They are continually smoking smoke out of their mouths with no regards, making the room hazy.

Felix hates the smell of smoke. Even in his previous life, he hated smoking, or if someone smoked in front of him.

This fuckers. Don't they know that second hand smoke kills much more than those who are smoking themselves?! Oh right, there's no concrete evidence for that yet…

He also noticed that Tanya also hates the smell of smoke so he addressed the people.

"Hmm, open up a window. I can't see 10 inches past me."

The military officers knew that this is a sign to stop smoking. So they wisely put away their cigarettes.

Once the window was opened, the room began to be cleared of smoke.

After the smoke went away, Felix formally started the meeting.

"Let the meeting commence."

Everyone instantly turned serious.

"Northern Command! Give me a brief description of the current state of the frontlines."

The general of the Northern Command stood up and reported the current situation that he knows of.

"Your highness! The current frontline is holding up well. Our infantry is currently holding up their grounds against the onslaught of the enemies."

"Current, you say? Before coming here, I ordered my men to gather news of the frontlines. The right frontline was pushed back by at least a hundred meters."

"What?! That can't b-"

The officer noticed the serious eyes of the Imperial Prince.

"I understand your highness. I would make amends by pushing the enemy back towards their lands."

"Good. Do it later. For now, we must concoct a plan, a decisive plan, in order to win against the Legadonia Alliance once and for all."

"If anyone knows a decisive plan to turn the odds around, now is your chance to speak up."

All of the people in the room went into their own thinking position. They looked at the map in an attempt to find out any weaknesses.

One officer spoke up his opinions on the matter. "Your highness, I propose a bold and direct assault on the enemy's central command. If we concentrate all our forces in a surprise attack, we could decapitate their leadership in one swift blow. This would throw the Legadonia Alliance into chaos and allow us to regain the upper hand."

The room fell silent, the weight of the suggestion hanging in the air. The Imperial Prince considered the officer's proposal, his eyes narrowing in thought.

"And how do you propose we execute such an assault?" the Prince asked, his tone neutral.

"We could mobilize our fastest divisions to penetrate their lines under the cover of darkness," the officer continued, gaining confidence."

"Simultaneously, we would launch feints on their flanks to draw their attention away from our main thrust. Once we breach their defenses, our elite units could storm their headquarters and capture or eliminate their top commanders."

The Prince leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled in front of him. "An interesting plan. However, there are significant risks. Our forces would be spread thin, and if the enemy anticipates our move, we could be walking into a trap. Moreover, the terrain between our lines and their central command is treacherous and heavily fortified."

The officer pressed on, undeterred. "Your highness, the element of surprise is our greatest advantage. If we move swiftly and decisively, we can achieve victory before they have a chance to react. This could end the war in a single stroke."

Another general, standing by the map, shook his head. "Such a plan hinges on too many uncertainties. If even one element fails, the entire assault could collapse, leaving our forces vulnerable and exposed."

The Imperial Prince nodded thoughtfully. "While I admire your boldness, we cannot afford to gamble on a plan with so many variables. We need a strategy that ensures our superiority without relying on the enemy's ignorance."

The officer who proposed the plan bowed his head. "I understand, your highness. I will continue to work on a more viable strategy."

"Good," the Prince said, his voice firm. "We must find a way to win this war decisively, but not recklessly. Let us continue our deliberations and devise a plan that will secure our victory with certainty."

The meeting continued, with the absence of a viable plan, the room turned rowdy.

Felix looked at Tanya who was thinking hard of a plan. Felix knew what she was thinking and that is to earn some brownie points.

Tanya noticed Felix looking at her, so she squinted her eyes towards him.

Felix mouthed off some words towards her.

Tanya was confused.

Aircon?

Airhorn?

Tanya squinted her eyes more.

Kibun? (mood in japanese)

Im cute?

What the fuck is he saying?!

Tanya was irritated so she scratched her head. Felix also scratched his head so he mouthed off his words again.

Tanya thought again.

Seriously… Hmmm, if it is not related to plans I will pun–... wait a second… In… In… In... In...….. Incheon. INCHEON!!

THE FUCKING BATTLE OF INCHEON!

Tanya suddenly stood up and slammed her tiny hands on the table, which attracted the attention of all the people inside.

"I know of a plan, your highness!"

Felix smirked towards her.

"Alright, let's listen to it."

_______________________________

The Incheon Landing, also known as Operation Chromite, was a major amphibious assault during the Korean War, launched on September 15, 1950.

The operation was orchestrated by General Douglas MacArthur and aimed to recapture the South Korean capital of Seoul, which had fallen to North Korean forces earlier in the war.

The landing took place at Incheon, a port city on the west coast of Korea, chosen for its strategic location despite its challenging tidal conditions and well-fortified enemy defenses.

The operation began with a week-long bombardment to weaken North Korean positions, followed by a pre-dawn amphibious assault.

At dawn, landing crafts carrying thousands of soldiers from the United States, South Korea, and other United Nations member countries moved toward the beaches of Incheon.

Despite facing heavy machine gun fire and artillery, the troops pushed forward, securing the beaches and advancing inland. Wolmi-do Island was the first objective and was captured quickly, providing a crucial foothold for the rest of the operation.

By mid-afternoon, reinforcements, including tanks, had arrived, and the momentum shifted in favor of the UN forces. The element of surprise and the boldness of the operation led to the rapid retreat of the North Korean forces.

The success of the Incheon Landing marked a turning point in the Korean War, allowing UN forces to recapture Seoul and disrupt the North Korean supply lines.

It showcased the effectiveness of amphibious warfare and was a significant strategic victory for General MacArthur and the UN coalition.

Going back to our story, the plan that Tanya and the General Staff concocted has a few twists. Instead of bombarding the enemy week-long, they opted for a secret and silent approach.

The target this time is the city of Os. It is located in the middle of the Legadonia Alliance. Its modern equivalent is the city of Hendholmen, most specifically, Vebenstad.. Surrounded by an abundance of forts and batteries, the island is said to be the guard that guards against operations coming from the sea.

It is also a hub which circulates the supplies of the Alliance.

The plan consists of Tanya and her mage wing parachuting down towards the enemy in order to eliminate further artillery batteries in land.

They are tasked to deal with the artillery batteries further inland because those coastal batteries will be destroyed by another squad.

Before talking about the other squad, you might be wondering why Tanya opted for a parachute approach, instead of the 'flying-over-there-and-fuck-all approach'. Well, it has the issue of well… being gunned down… There were still numerous Anti-Air installations throughout the island.

Even though they parachuted towards the enemies, their secret maneuver would not go unnoticed, as evidenced in the manga. They will be heavily gunned down by a rain of bullets and would be at their mercy with only their shields.

The sight of a naked Tanya in the manga is too harsh for this world. No one, I mean, no one, except for Felix of course, can look at Tanya's naked form. Skinny, but naked form. (Check chapter 21 in the manga)

That's where the second squad comes from.

Felix inserted this plan in order to relieve Tanya and her wing with some of the bullets being fired upon them.

The second squad will come from the sea. They would use their own state-of-the-art military sea scooters, that were recently developed, to approach the beaches silently.

They would then install numerous bombs and the life in the Anti-Air installations near the beach, but the installations further inland would still fire upon Tanya.

The sea squad would be responsible for disabling both the artillery and the anti-air installations near the sea. Take note, their responsibility is to disable it, not thoroughly destroy it, since it can also be used as defenses once they take the city.

Felix volunteered for this assignment since he needs the experience, not the leveling kind, but the experience in fighting enemies. Felix needs the experience so he may react to whatever Belial had planned.

Yes, Felix had the opportunity to fight enemies before, but those were just against sporadic squads. He has yet to formally join the war, since he was normally imprisoned at the rear.

Once the military officers heard of Felix's volunteering. They vehemently opposed it, stating that the prince should just stay behind since it is dangerous.

Fuck you! Just living is also dangerous!

It is a risky operation.

ALL OPERATIONS ARE FUCKING RISKY!

The Emperor and his family would be angry.

FUCK– well… they are right…

So Felix contacted his father. He expected rejection but was surprised that his father accepted his plan. The only condition is that his Imperial Guards would be responsible for his safety as a squad.

And thus, the Adlertruppe was formally born. It is composed of 11 members, 10 of which are the Imperial Prince's Imperial Guards. It is an odd number which often annoys Felix, but it is what it is. He plans to conduct an interview to recruit someone which will even out the number to 12.

Going back to the current time.

The current date is November 24, 1924. 2 weeks have passed since the meeting ended. Since then, a formal plan was established. The plan was named Operation Breaking Back.

It is an operation which has the purpose of breaking the enemy's back.

The Frontline was forced to halt their advances in order to make way for the Operation.

The Navy is situated at least 30 kms away from the shore of the island. No one from Os is expecting their advance.

The Air Force, with their planes, were tasked to recon the island, in case of any variables. They are also responsible for dropping the mages to the ground.

The Mages, with their parachutes at the ready, are currently gearing up at the airfield.

In this time, the machine called the Empire tuned together as one. Like a PC with maxed out specifications, they are doing well together.

This time, a new monitor, the Special Forces, was added. The Adlertruppe is tasked to sweep out the coastal batteries.

Currently they are underwater and at least half a kilometer away from the shore.

They are in the depths of at least 10 meters down with their own personal military-grade water scooters in front of them.

The 11 men are currently cruising underwater garbed in their wetsuits designed for underwater pressure and an oxygen tank behind them.

Once they reached the coast, they avoided the spotlights that shone through the water.

Blending with the darkness, the group landed and removed their oxygen tanks, and left their water scooters on the rocky shores.

Felix and his group made sure that their guns were ready.

For their guns, they are equipped with the HM G-5 (G36c in real life) and a suppressed Luger as their side.

However, for this operation, silence is the key. Their suppressed Lugers would be their main weapon during the dark, and once Tanya and co. parachuted, they will switch to their own G-5.

Felix signaled, with his hands, for 5 people to go deal with the coastal batteries on the right.

Their main objective is to disable the coastal batteries and some Anti-Air installations as much as possible. They have 30 minutes since the start of the operation to finish such tasks.

Once 5 people were selected, Felix and his remaining 5 members, which makes them 6, climbed up the rocky cliff.

They climbed up since the beach is filled with spotlights which illuminates the beach.

Once they climb up, they can see the high wall surrounding the battery. They knew the surface blueprint of the battery so they knew that a door would be nearby.

Felix and his group stocked up to the nearby wall and slowly and silently walked towards the door.

With their Suppressed Lugers at their hands, they slowly approached the door.

They waited for a minute or two before climbing the wall through making a human ladder, but luckily, the door opened. They immediately went down. Blended with the darkness. The man, a Norwegian man attempted to light his cigarette for a quick relief but… 2 bullets went straight to his head and neck, leaving him with no room for responses.

*psew* *psew*

The person in front of Felix's group grabbed the falling man before any noise was made.

The suppressor really suppressed the sound of the gunshot.

They leaned the dead man on the wall they are situated on and silently entered the battery.

Inside, the whole battery was silent. It was an unnerving silence which surrounded the whole facility. The whole place was lit, but it was silent.

The group stuck to the wall and the darkness while navigating the hallways of the facility. They saw two rooms facing one another, at the end of the hallway.

They attempted to silently open the door to the room when suddenly, they heard a person coming from behind them, so all of the group turned around and pointed their pistols towards the end of the hallway.

They then heard.

"Hei! Hvor er du? Kom igjen! Jeg må tisse. (Hey! Where are you! Hurry now! I want to take a piss.)"

The man then noticed something. Normally, his partner would answer promptly but strangely, his partner didn't answer back. He then noticed the hallway, though it was dimly lit, the hallway seemed to be a little bit narrow this time, so he squinted his eyes.

Upon squinting, he noticed something shining towards him. He approached the darkness, but…

*psew* *psew*

2 bullets went straight to his head. One to the temple, and one inside his mouth.

Before the man fell down and alerted everyone in the battery, the last person in the Felix's group silently but rapidly caught the man to which he laid down on the side.

Once the patrol is dead, the group split into two groups, with each taking one door after another.

Felix, the one leading the group on the left, with just two men beside himself, silently nodded towards the point man of the other three man group, to which he nodded back.

Silently, they turned the knob of the door and slowly opened it.

The room was dark, but the creeping light from the hallway illuminated the room slightly. Felix saw that all the people in the room were asleep, so he signaled his two other members about it.

Silently they entered the room. They saw 6 men sleeping in bunk beds, snoring and dreaming without a care in the world.

They tip-toed silently while pointing their pistols towards the men at the bottom bunk bed.

Felix and his other members approached each bed..

They grabbed a pillow in order to further suppress the suppressed gun and put it into the face of one person.

Felix aimed his gun towards the head of this person and silently thought.

For the Empire.

*psew*

Suddenly, the pillow became apparent of blood. The whole pillow was stained with blue in Felix's eyes. Yes, these men have blue blood in his eyes.

After making sure that the opponent below was dead. Felix didn't remove the pillow covering the head, but instead aimed towards the head of the person above the bunk bed.

He waited for his other members as well. Once they were ready, Felix fired his gun towards the head of the person in the top bunk bed.

*psew*

Blue blood splattered the wall of the room.

The head of the person recoiled for a bit before staring straight at Felix with closed eyes, to which Felix just stared.

It was a horror movie move, but to Felix, he just felt sorry for the man… It was their fault for attacking the Empire, now they must pay the price.

Felix and his co. left the room and met up with the people in the other room.

They reported that there were also 6 people in the room.

They deduced that these people, now dead people, were the day-shift of the coastal battery.

Logically, at least 75% of the number of the day shift will be tasked for the night shift.

With 2 people dead, they deduced that there would be at least 7 more remaining people in the battery.

Looking at his pocket watch, there were only 20 minutes remaining, so they need to be more proactive.

Knowing that there would only be at least 7 people remaining, they approached the artillery room.

The group stocked up in front of the door, with 3 people each side.

Felix signaled the other person on the other side of the room to slightly open it.

Once the door was slightly opened, Felix primed a fragmentation grenade and threw it inside the room.

Nobody noticed the grenade until it was the last second.

"GRANA–"

*THWUMP*

The grenade fragment inside the room, sending tons of shrapnels in all directions.

After 3 seconds, Felix and his group entered the room.

They finished off those who were still conscious and writhing around in pain.

*psew* *psew* *psew* *psew*

Once the enemies are down, Felix tasked his group to check on the viability of the artillery.

"It has broken, your highness. Though, we can still repair it if needed, but as to functionality, it is now dead."

"Gut! Let's move towards the next installation."

The group then moved towards the next artillery battery. With the knowledge of the interior and number of men in the artillery, their clearing of the battery was much faster. This left them with only 12 minutes left to disable other guns.

The silver lining in this situation is that the coastal batteries are now disabled.

The island has 4 coastal batteries which are aimed towards enemies approaching from the sea, and air.

There are still 4 flak nests near the coast which is essential in order to give Tanya and her wing a much easier landing.

So, in order to strike the remaining flak nests, Felix split his group into two and each group would target one flak each.

Felix knew that Carl, the leader of the other group who branched from them on the beach, would also split his group in order to strike one each.

Felix and his group would take the flak nest that is farthest to the left and the other would take the one near the left-middle.

Felix's three-man group silently ran towards the silent streets of the city. Though they were silently running, there were drunk people who noticed them, but these people didn't pay them any mind or just forgot them immediately.

As Felix ran through the streets, he could now see the flak nest.

The flak nest is situated atop a small hill. It is currently silent, but he can see numerous people bearing lamps around the nest.

By just observing, he can see at least 5 people around the nest. The nest is an open type with only sandbags surrounding the flak in the middle.

Felix and his group approached the nest and aimed towards the enemies within the nest.

*psew* *psew* *psew* *psew* *psew*

5 bullets whizzed through the night, hitting 5 heads.

Felix secured the nest and grabbed a grenade.

Before he primed his grenade, Felix saw a bomber flying high that was coming from the sea.

"SHIT!"

An air horn siren drowned the surroundings. This siren is a sign that the enemy is attacking. It is also a sign for military personnel to get to their stations and the civilians to stay at home or get to the nearest shelter.

As soon as the bomber plane reaches the skies of the city, Felix can see Tanya and the others dropping down from their plane.

He can see that the only flaks coming are those from further inland, which greatly relieved Felix since his group has succeeded in their operation.

However… The silence coming from the flaks within the city is also attention-grabbing… Within a minute, numerous infantry squads were deployed to check on the situation of the installations.

Felix knew this so they set up a stand in these installations.

You might be thinking, they can just bomb the artillery and leave…. But… the infantry is now surrounding them. If they detonate the flak artillery, they would also be caught up with the explosion. If in addition with the surrounding flak ammunitions, they will surely be implicated.

Felix ordered his 2 other men to prepare for a stand.

"ALRIGHT MEN! THIS IS IT! PROTECT THIS INSTALLATION AT ALL COSTS! MAKE SURE THAT NO MAN WILL COME NEAR THIS SITE!"

"PREPARE YOUR GUNS AND COUNT YOUR SHOTS! AMMO IS LIMITED!"

"LIVE MY MEN! FOR THERE ARE WHISKIES AND BITCHES WAITING FOR US!"

"SIR YES SIR!"

Felix and his men set up their guns in a triangle formation, with Felix facing towards the inner of the city, and the two others at different angles.

Felix can see numerous shadows of the infantry coming towards him.

Felix activated his eye power. Suddenly, Felix can now see numerous lines surrounding him, He can now see the trajectory of all things.

After a few minutes, Felix can now see numerous infantry squads nearing them.

As soon as Felix saw them, Felix opened fire.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

His 30-round magazine has now been depleted to only 10 rounds. He had killed at least 13 enemies from the enemy infantry. He can also see and hear that the enemies are now hiding behind the walls.

"SØK DEKNING BAK VEGGENE! FIENDEN ER VED REIRET! (HIDE BEHIND THE WALLS! ENEMY AT THE NEST!)"

Of course, Felix didn't understand any of this, but he can somewhat understand.

Immediately, Felix can hear numerous gunshots behind him. It seems that enemies had also come pouring in from all angles.

Felix then saw a rather odd trajectory. He felt that the trajectory is somewhat like a ball being lobbed upwards towards his direction.

Felix then understood what it was. He waited for the moment the 'ball' was thrown. After a few seconds, Felix can see the thrown ball and immediately shoots it. The 'ball' was shot back towards the throwers and detonated. Yes, the ball is a grenade.

*BANG*

Normally, you cannot detonate a grenade even if you shoot it. The only instance where you can detonate a grenade is if you hit the detonator.

However, in this case, the grenade is live. Though as Felix shot it, it bounced back, before detonating.

Going back, the grenade detonated and decimated the surrounding enemies. It obliterated the enemy in front, while the others in the back remained unscathed but hidden.

9 shots remaining within Felix's magazine.

Behind Felix, numerous shots are being fired. However, he has utmost trust unto his Imperial Guards.

Felix can hear the steps of the hiding enemies. Currently, these enemies are going inside the buildings in order to have a higher position against Felix.

Numerous suppressive fire were fired upon Felix's position, so he wisely moved towards his left, to another set of sandbags, and opened fire upon those who were spraying their bullets unto him.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

9 shots. 7 kills.

Felix reloaded his gun, but before finishing his reload, he saw a line that was pointing straight towards his head. He immediately hid lower. Instantly, numerous bullets were fired upon his sandbag.

Felix is being suppressed by numerous bullets fired upon his position again. He can also hear the shuttling of the squadron's feet coming closer and closer towards him.

He can also hear numerous mages fighting in the skies. He can't give them any attention for now since his current position is being pinned down by enemy fire.

Oh. Magic silence is over. Let's FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"MEN! MAGIC IS NOW ONLINE!"

Felix immediately activated his 4 cored operation orb.

In an instant, the enemy can feel a heavy sensation crushing down their hearts. Their mind shouted at them to halt, yet they still kept on going, albeit slowly. The threat of death is slowly encroaching upon them.

They knew that death was just in front of them. However… What can they do? They are just soldiers… Surviving for their country. Serving their country. Being proud of their country…

What can they do but brave the dangers of the enemy. Their mission is to try their best in order to bring an enemy down… but their best was never enough…

The infantry saw Felix peeking out of his position. His gun pointed towards them whilst glowing with a golden light. His crimson-golden eyes staring straight towards them.

The only words they heard before total silence was…

"Auf Wiedersehen (Goodbye)."

In an instant, a large ray of light went towards them. As soon as the ray passed them, buildings, rubbles, and bodies were obliterated. Evaporated by the insane heat of Felix's mana ray.

He felt sorry for these people, but they are currently at war. A war is fought by killing and destroying…

Felix looked up towards the sky. He can see that the fight in the sky is culminating. Imperial mages against the Alliance mages. He can also see Anson Sue fighting against Tanya.

He kinda feels sorry for Anson Sue. You see, he is a great soldier who fights for his country first and foremost. His downfall was his government. He was just being used by his government…

However, Felix can see that Tanya's naked body was not seen by the world. Although Tanya's clothes are a bit ragged, it is a blessing that the naked Tanya didn't see the light of this world. This is mainly due to the increase of her powers and/or mana quality and quantity.

Felix can now also see that the naval fleet of the Empire is entering the Fjord. Numerous infantry are now securing the beaches. Naval mages are flying around the skies hunting down the Alliance's mages.

Due to this, Anson Sue opted for a decisive retreat. They couldn't bear anymore losses and had to leave the city, licking their wounds.

All that was left of the mage squad that Anson Sue had, is just a mere 14 members…

Tanya, who was a bit exhausted, raised her hands and waved towards Felix, who waved back.

However… Felix saw numerous lines going towards Tanya's body and the Imperial mages.

He immediately knew what it was and through his operation orb, ordered the whole aerial mages to evade.

Felix flexed his mana in order to cover all the mages currently flying in the sky.

Feeling an overwhelming mana, the whole mage squad, and even the infantry and the ship admirals looked towards Felix.

Felix deeply breathed in and shouted.

"MAGES EVASIVE MANEUVERS NOW!!!!"

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

Numerous bullets were fired on the Empire's mages.

Due to Felix's warning, almost all of them were left unscathed save for some who were left with minor wounds.

There were at least a hundred fifty aggressors trying to shoot down the Imperial mages. The aggressors are people garbed in deep black garments, which matches the color of their mana, black. Their main target is Tanya and her wing.

Looking at the newly arrived enemies, immediately, everyone went into a red alert. Numerous mages evaded the bullets, but most of them are being shot, albeit leaving them with minor wounds.

They need to take the offensive. So Felix tasked his group.

"MEN! MAN THE FLAK CANNON! FIRE UPON THOSE IN BLACK! IF AN ALLIED MAGE IS NEARBY DON'T FUCKING SHOOT!"

""SIR YES SIR!!""

"5 MEN COME WITH ME! WE WILL SUPPORT THE 203RD IMPERIAL MAGE WING! NOW!"

As soon as Felix flew towards Tanya, 5 men from his group also flew. Felix's Imperial Guards have an impeccable connection with one another so they immediately knew who will fly, and who will stay manning the flak cannon.

Immediately, 15 men blocked Felix's way and fired upon him.

Felix did a barrel roll in order to evade the bullets and while he was upside down in the air, with his automatic rifle, he fired upon them.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

Instantly, 5 men from the enemy's side were penetrated through, leaving them with a large hole in their abdomen, making them instantly succumb down to the ground.

As soon as Felix passed over the enemies, the enemies turned around and attempted to fire their guns towards Felix, however… instantly a flak shell exploded amidst these people.

4 people were shredded into pieces by the shrapnel of the flak. Felix looked back. whilst still flying towards Tanya, in order to acknowledge his guards in the Flak cannon nest.

The other 6 remaining mages were shot down by his own 5 Imperial Guards that were following him.

As soon as Felix sped past towards the enemies, another group of enemies blocked his path. This time, the group is composed of at least 60 men, which prompted him to slow down.

The enemies attempted to fire upon him, to which Felix readied his shield, but… numerous flak, mage bullets, and artillery cannon fire fired upon these groups of enemies.

In an instant, half of the enemies were obliterated. A group of mages went towards Felix.

"Go! Your highness! Save the hero Tanya! We mages can't go to that altitude… However, we can deal with the people at this altitude!"

Currently, Tanya and her wing's altitude is around 10,000 meters.

"Alright, I wish you luck!"

Felix sped past the enemies who are currently standing. As soon as Felix passed these enemies, the enemies turned their guns towards Felix without even giving much attention to the mages towards their backs.

Huh… Why are they solely focusing on me…. Are their brains alright?

Looking at the enemies at Tanya's place… they are a bit good… however, the enemies here are… somewhat dull.

Felix didn't give any more attention to these people. His only goal is to reach Tanya and her wing's location.

After a minute of flying, Felix had reached Tanya's position, and joined in on the fun. Felix and his group fired upon these enemies, to which they evaded. So Felix fired another burst of bullets towards the enemies, which hit.

The magic formula that Felix and his group prepared are the homing type of magic formula which followed the enemy.

Suddenly, the enemies stopped, motionless, which surprised Tanya, Tanya's wing, Felix, and his Imperial Guards.

Through the dense number of enemies, a ray of light was fired towards Tanya and Felix.

*BOOM*

Tanya and Felix propped up their shields to the highest level.

They were pushed back for a meter but it was taken care of.

Looking at the direction where the ray of light came from, both Tanya and Felix saw a man garbed in white clothes as opposed to the darkness of his comrades.

The man stood at around a hundred meters away from both Tanya and Felix.

"Good morning ladies and gents, I am the 5th pillar. Well, well, well. Looks like the two of you are here. BWAHAHAHAHA!"

Felix and Tanya looked at each other and showed disgusted faces.

Is he nuts?

"Oh! I remember you!"

The man pointed towards Tanya.

"Yes! You! You are the one who was supposed to join us!"

Felix looked at Tanya.

What the fuck is this man saying?

Tanya shrugged her shoulders.

I don't know, maybe he is a nutjob incarnate.

"You! You were chosen by the SUN! After being wounded by the 1st and 2nd pillar, you should have been given the opportunity to join us! INSTEAD! YOU WASTED THAT OPPORTUNITY!! HOW DARE YOU!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!"

He is a fucking nutjob.

"Join you? Is your sun delusional? After attempting to kill me, they would just invite me like nothing happened? You know what? Fuck your sun! Fuck you too!"

"GRRR KEEP MY SUN'S NAME OUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!! KEEP! MY! SUN'S! NAME! OUT! YOUR! FUCKING! MOUTH!"

Hearing those words, Felix laughed which confused both the enemies and his allies.

"Pfft, hahahahaha!"

Tanya hit Felix's abdomen with her elbow to stop him from laughing.

"Why are you laughing tho?"

"Hahaha I just remembered something. I'll tell you later, pfft."

The enemy in front of them is now angry, and is getting ready to fight Tanya. However, he was again interrupted by Felix.

"Wait, before we go fuck-it-all, I'm curious about something."

Felix signed towards Tanya to tell her wing and his Imperial Guards to focus on the black enemies.

The curiosity of Felix lessened the anger of the white garbed enemy.

"So tell me, what do you want to know?"

"Hmmm.. I want to know why those black garbed people are so stiff."

"Well.. the reason is simple."

The white garbed man motioned, with his hand, for a black garbed person to come towards him, which surprisingly did.

He then removed the black hood covering the man's face.

The face shown is a pale face, with his eyes rolled back towards the back. His face shows utmost seriousness, with his lips and nose firm.

"You see, these men are what we call Shadows. They are the Shadows casted by the Pillars of our Sun. They are our sole followers and would do everything we ask them of, even if the order would plunge them towards the 9th circle of hell."

"So basically, they are brainwashed people?"

"You may call them that."

Damn. We are lucky that this 5th pillar is rather stupid… or else, the operation would be unsuccessful…

"You're sick, you know. Your pseudo-religion is bullcrap. Your leaders are insane. Your Sun is shit."

This immediately angered the man.

"Well… come on, come here then, you pseudo-religious nutjob."

Felix motioned with his right index finger towards the man.

Tanya then shouted,

"GO!"

The man flew towards Felix and Tanya. On the other hand, Tanya's wing and the Imperial Guards, all equipped with Type 95 Computation Jewels, rushed towards the black-garbed enemies.

Tanya and Felix then nodded together and rushed away from the battlefield. The man followed Felix since he dared disrespect his own God. Both Tanya and Felix, equipped with the overwhelming four cored operation orb, flew at breakneck speeds, around 700 km per hour, near the speed of the world's earliest jet engines.

The 4th Pillar, also a skilled mage, flew at an impressive speed of 660 km per hour. As the man pursued them, Tanya and Felix nodded towards each other again, acknowledging their plan, and then split up, Felix to the left, and Tanya to the right.

However, the man followed Felix. With precision and coordination, Tanya and Felix executed the Thach Weave maneuver.

Felix and Tanya began to weave back and forth, crossing each other's paths in mid-air. This forced the man to choose a target, creating opportunities for the other to attack.

As the man zeroed in on Felix, Tanya swung around and fired a barrage of magical bullets. The man was forced to break off his pursuit and evade the incoming fire. When he switched targets to Tanya, Felix took advantage of the distraction and launched his own counterattack.

The air crackled with the intensity of their magical exchanges. Explosions and flashes of light filled the sky as the three mages dueled at dizzying speeds. Tanya and Felix pushed their limits, their synchronization perfect, each movement and attack designed to keep the man off-balance.

With a roar of frustration, the man unleashed a powerful blast of dark energy, aiming to obliterate Felix. But Felix anticipated the move, diving at the last second and looping around in a high-G maneuver that brought him directly behind the man. Felix retaliated with a concentrated beam of magic, grazing the man's shoulder.

"Is that all you've got?"

Felix taunted him, his voice cutting through the chaos.

The man snarled and turned his fury towards Felix, but Tanya was already in position. She dove from above, her eyes glowing with determination, and unleashed a storm of explosive bullets. The man was caught in a flurry of detonations, forcing him to shield himself with a barrier.

Tanya then shouted.

"Now, Felix!"

.Felix didn't hesitate. He accelerated, closing the distance in a blink, and delivered a bone-breaking kick to the man's side. The force sent the man spiraling out of control. Tanya and Felix didn't let up, continuing their relentless assault with precision strikes and magical blasts.

Realizing he was outmatched, the man tried to retreat, but Tanya and Felix gave him no quarter. They pressed their advantage, using the Thach Weave to stay one step ahead. Every time the man thought he had an opening, one of them was there, ready to attack.

Finally, Tanya and Felix executed one final, synchronized weave. As they crossed paths, both unleashed their strongest spells simultaneously.

""Auf Wiedersehen.""

The whole night sky glowed. Numerous shooting stars-like projectiles dotted the night sky. The sky screamed of death, but not just a simple death, but rather a beautiful death. It was truly a beautiful night sky.

The combined magical assault created a massive explosion that shook the sky. The man screamed as the energy engulfed him, and with a final, desperate cry, he was vaporized by the sheer force of their attack.

When the light faded, the man was nowhere to be seen, the power of their combined magic having eradicated him completely.

Tanya and Felix regrouped, breathing heavily but triumphant. They shared a nod of mutual respect and satisfaction before turning their attention back to the ongoing battle below. However, they stayed high in the air.

They were enveloped in a rather comforting silence.

After a few minutes of observing the battles below, Tanya asked Felix.

"So why did you laugh earlier?"

Felix looked at Tanya with his side eye.

"You wanna know?"

"Yeah."

"You know Will Smith right?"

Yeah, one of the best actors ever."

Felix smiled a bit.

"Well, do you know Chris Rock?"

"Hmm, I am not familiar with him, why?"

"Well, basically, at the Grammys, Chris Rock, the host, made a joke about Will Smith's wife, a harmless joke. Then Will Smith slowly walked, like a gangster you know, towards Chris Rock who was at the stage, then slapped him, then he said, KEEP MY WIFE'S NAME OUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!"

"That's dope."

"Truly dope."

The two talked and joked with each other until the sun rose up at the horizon, and the firing ceased….

Operation Breaking Back = Success.
