Chapter 4 The Training

While deeply in thought about luck, my phone ringing, as I answer it. "You stupid brother! I told you to not do anything stupid, isn't it!? So, why did you run away from the hospital!" I quickly move the phone away from my poor ears, I rub my ears in pain as Liz shouting in the background. (What do I do-what do I do quick make up an excuse and scratch that plan for tomorrow I'd better go today!) "Hello there Liz how's school?" Good, gotta take it slow now, "god dam it Dan don't change the subject!"

"Oh come on, Liz, I'm fine, so don't worry about me." While I talk to Liz, I quietly order Upsilon to pack my clothing. "Don't worry! Get real Dan, in the last morning I visit you, your face is white as a sheet of paper. And you're telling me not to worry!" I can hear her facepalming from the end of the phone. "I'm telling you I'm fine, you can ask the doctor, truthfully I run away after my exam you know, and it comes back healthy." With that, I try to calm Liz down until she finally relents.

"So, why did you just run away then and not waiting the doctor to clear you to leave?" "Well, frankly it's a pain to explain to him how my body recover quickly." Liz goes silent with the revelation, after a while she exhales an annoyed sigh. "Just because of that, you make me so worried! Anyway, how did you recover so quickly then?" I scratch my hair, hearing her question, not quite sure how to answer it. "Err, how do I put this, I just obtained an incredible potion that can heal my injury quickly?"

"Whaaat?!" With another shout that nearly burst my eardrum, I sensed an impeding nagging storm. "Anyway thanks for calling, but I'm busy packing up so love you, bye!" "Wait, I haven't finish speaking to~" I turn off the phone before she can finish her sentence. "Now lets get going then upsilon!" After, that I go and rent a small camper then go to the nearest camping goods store for fishing gear, MRE, knife, emergency kit and an axe. If I will be gone into a mountain for a week, then these things are very essential.

With everything ready, I drive the camper to the Slide mountain. While I drive, some thing happen at home "Bang!" The door of my apartment forcefully open by a powerful kick from a beautiful slender leg. With a step, the woman enter and turns out it's my rampaging sister Elizabeth. She scans the empty apartment and find a piece of paper on the table.

If you read this, that mean I have already gone camping for a week, so don't bother looking for me!

After reading it, a flame of rage burst out of Liz body, "Danny Smith!!" Her shout echoes thought the apartment, shaking the apartment and startling the resident. "A-a-achoo!" Feeling a sudden chill, I sneeze loudly, "hey, Upsilon, can you check my status?" "Sure, well, nothing changed much from before you are pretty much healthy, why do you ask?" "Nothing, just checking" I wonder where that chill is coming from, do I forgot to turn on the car heater.

After 2 hour drive I arrive at slide mountain. I drive around some more, looking for the perfect, place to train. The place need to be far away from the people who camp around here, I don't like to be seen. The camp selection takes around an hour, but I finally find the perfect spot. A forest clearing in a secluded place in the mountain. Unfortunately, it's night already, so I park the camper and dinner with the MRE after that I rest inside the camper until morning.

I wake up fully refreshed ready for training, but first I need some breakfast. Like last night, I prepare an MRE for breakfast after that, I start the training with warm up by jogging while occasionally stretching my body. The first day of training focused to bolster my endurance. At the same time, Upsilon order me to buy training equipment from the shop menu. So, I buy an adjustable wearable weight and wooden sword from the shop.

So, my first day is full of running while wearing the weight at, eleven pounds. On the second day, my body still sore from yesterday, but I girt my teeth and start the usual warm up. Today, Upsilon tell me to split wood all morning while wearing weight with the axe I bought and in the afternoon I start running again until evening come. The third day, Upsilon mixed in sword training in the morning after warming up and then continue with practice like yesterday.

The fourth day, I start the day by drinking a fatigue potion that upsilon recommends, and the training increased with swimming in the river after running in the afternoon. The fifth day is the same as yesterday, but as I run upsilon throw pebble at me and ordered to dodge the attack. The next morning I ask Upsilon to check my status but he won't let me do it until the training is complete. On the last day as I start my morning run Upsilon stop me.

"So, lad, as this will be the last day we train here, why don't you try to transform." Excited, I quickly nod and take Upsilon outside into an empty cave formation I find near my camp when running yesterday. "So how do I transform then?" "First clip my back to your belt, if you don't wear one you can put my back in that general area, so I will materialize a belt for you." I clip Upsilon to my belt, as I did that a deck holder appear on my left hip and a die in my right hand after I let go of Upsilon. "First you insert that die in my blade groove, then draw the monster card from your deck."

As I insert the die, "are you ready!" An inexplicable voice can be heard out of nowhere, so I ignore that to draw the Golden Beetle card. Without any prompting from Upsilon, I slide the card in the screen groove, after doing that the card automatically disappear and back into the deck. "Now, lad, move my handle 90 degree upward!" "Transform!" Without thinking, I shout that while turning the handle, then my body warped in light. As a magic circle appear above me, summoning a giant golden beetle that directly fall on to my head.

The light faded, revealing my body wearing a golden armor with a distinct rhinoceros beetle motive on the helmet that shaped like a Y. My eyes now covered with blue compound eye, while the unarmored part of my body covered in hard black cloth that surprisingly flexible. While my hand hold on to a golden single sided long sword. "Kamen Rider Upsilon F MS G-G-G-Gold Beetle!!" Excited, I inspect my body then the sword, I try cutting a stone with it and the stone successfully cut in half. (Even tough the sword looks like a toy, it's quite sharp.)

"Now what should I do Upsilon?" "Well why don't you check out your deck, even tough for now you can only hold around 5 card 6 if you count the monster card. You will find a variety of ability or equipment in it, so why don't you use the card one by one then?" I draw a random card and slide it but nothing happen, "you first need to press my screen." Embarrassed, I quickly press the screen, a sound effect appear and the screen glow for a second. Then I slide in the card again, this time I successfully activated it, making my sword covered in thunder. "Thunder strike!!" With that sound, the thunder from my sword strike the surrounding area nearly caused a cave in.

I quickly run out of the cave, decided to test the other card outside. Tried the cards one by one, I find that the effect varied, there are Earth strength, that increased my attack and make the earth shake from each swing of my sword. Fire sword, that coated my sword in flame and I can use the flame as fireball too by swinging my sword. Wind barrier, create barrier made of wind that block ranged attack and weaken melee attack. Frost sword, coating my sword in ice when struck to something the area frozen at the same time I can create ice arrow with it by swinging my sword.
