H...how? Is it even possible to reach that level this quickly? Did Noelle and I miss something?

Panicking as he watched the man with the greatsword get closer and closer, Kai tried to think of a way out, any way out... but failed.

I could use Will of the Kaiser and use the otherwordly creature part of it again, but I don't even remember anything I did last time, what if I end up attacking Noelle or something? Umbra is still hiding but now doesn't feel like a good time to make her attack... Noelle is still recovering after that hit, what's that dudes strength?

Looking through all his stats, skills, abilities and even at his dagger for anything he can use to stop the hulking beast of a man, Kai can only think of one thing... and it was going to pain his soul to do...

Almost in tears from nearly a months hard work gone down the drain, Kai regretfully put all his unnasigned stat points into luck and said a prayer. Only after finishing his extremely short and to the point prayer, cutting it short that is, he looked towards the blond and said:

"Kill yourself!"

It took a lot for Kai just to say those words, he was technically about to kill a man after all. All he could do is hope that he won't have any nightmares or trauma after this.

Sadly, one can only have nightmares about killing someone if they actually kill someone.

The blond froze, and just as Kai thought that his plan worked, the man chuckled and asked:

"Now why would I do that, me and your partner over there still got some business to attend to." The man then licks his lips, causing Kai to cringe as a shiver runs up his spine.

Shit, all my stat points... wait... maybe the command matters too, it would be a bit too strong to just go around telling people to kill themselves... right?

Please be right.

After deciding to try something different, Kai activated Will of the Kaiser again, but this time said:

"Drop your weapon"

The blond started to laugh again, only he stopped when he heard a clang off of a rock on the ground. Looking down at where the noise came from, he saw... his greatsword?

"What.... what did you do?" He grunted, getting agitated.

"Seems like you got some skills yourself you scrawny son of a-" Before the man can say anymore, Noelle is on top of him... though not in the way he would have liked.

Noelle stabbed her scimitar into the bulky man's stomach, and unlike last time, blood starts to come out instead of the black smoke.

Kai noticed the creepy guy frown, not wanting to give him the chance to pull off anything, Kai opens up his telepathic link with Umbra, ordering "Umbra, attack now"

Umbra, like the good girl she is, launched herself out of the surrounding shadows, catching Mr Creepy unaware.

The terrifying wolf latched its jaws onto Creepy's arm, which promptly got mangled much more than Kai expected, and he grins once he realises why.

Kai started sprinting at Creepy while Noelle handled Beefcake. Umbra continued to pull at Creepy's arm, until eventually he screamed out and Kai saw his arm swell... the same way Noelle's did when she spent her stat points.

"Umbra, get back!" Kai screamed in a panic through the telepathic connection, only it was too late. Creepy swung his arm at Umbra, hitting her square in the side and launching her into a tree, swiftly accompanied by a loud crack.

Kai finally arrived and stood face to face wirh Creepy. Once Creepy noticed him, he grinned... and it's not a pretty sight.

All of Creepy's teeth are crooked and yellow, and his skin doesn't look much better, it almost looks like it's about to peel off...

"Well, you're much stronger than I expected" Creepy snorted. "The last few teams we met all fell for my... tricks, those were fun." He grinned again, only this grin was accompanied by a maniacal laugh.

Creepy shook his mangled arm in front of him, still grinning, even though he should be feeling pain, it looked as if he felt... pleasure?

"That beast is quite good as well, I so wish I could stay here for longer..." Creepy started to shake slightly. Something started to bubble under his skin, causing Kai to cringe at the sight. "It's time for me to go, after all, this will be over soon."

Frowning, Kai looked around to see if anything was happening, and that's when he noticed he messed up.

Behind him was a swirling cloud of the same black smoke that he had seen earlier.

He couldn't see anything around him.

Cursing, Kai turned back to the Creepy, only to see a cloud of the black smoke where he was standing. Quickly, Kai shouted into his telepathic link:

"Umbra! Help Noelle."

Kai then turned and started sprinting into the cloud, he had to get back quick just in case. He kept sprinting, and sprinting, and sprinting, and sprinting... and sprinting...

...and sprinting.

Kai had no idea what the hell was going on. It felt like he had been running for hours, even his body was starting to feel tired.

What... the hell... He stopped running and startsled panting, coughing up... something. As he took a break, he heard a strange noise behind him, almost as if something was gurgling?

Turning around and wiping some drool from his lip, he saw...

...What is that?

Behind him was a hideous creature that looks like a ball of flesh, only this ball of flesh was the same size as a truck, not including the trailer.

The creature was a mix of dark purple and black patches, and had an array of different sized tentacles sticking out of it.

The sight was absolutely disgusting and just made Kai want to look away, except there was one more thing about the creature that catches his eye.

The creature still had a third eye, like all the other creatures Kai has seen in this forest, only the pupil in this one isn't a crescent moon, its a quarter moon.

Why does that... thing have a different moon? Do different types of creatures have different moons? Do the moons represent how powerful they are?

With too many questions and no time for answers, Kai sprinted away at breakneck speed, hoping to escape the ball of flesh.

Time passed...

Kai ran...

The fleshy abomination followed...

At this point, Kai was starting to feel exhausted. Sweat was pouring down his face, his feet were aching, everything hurt.

Even his training with Noelle wasn't this bad, at least she knew how to hold back. The damn ball of flesh didn't, even with Kai sprinting as fast as he can, the creature could still keep up. Sometimes it even shot forward a tentacle to hit him, only for Kai to dodge it by the skin of his teeth.

Just as Kai felt like he was about to fall over from exhaustion, he spotted something in the distance... a light, the first bit of light he had seen since being in this damn forest.

Kai celebrated inwardly at the indication the smoke was about to dissapear. He pushed himself to sprint even faster towards the light. It would be better to have to try and fight to the death while being able to see properly.

Once he reached the light, he stood under it and turned around. Expecting to see the creature finally upon him, he saw...

The ball of flesh, shivering in fear, too scared to come any closer.

Kai frowned, wondering what it's scared of. He then looks to see the source of light, seeing it coming from a gap in the tree tops.

Curious, Kai looked up, expecting to see a night sky full of stars. Instead, he saw no stars, the whole sky is covered by one moon. The moon was absolutely massive, Kai could only see half of it from where he is, the other parts of it being blocked out by the tree tops, but when he looked at it, Kai felt-

"AaAaGgGghHhh!"

Pain

A blood curdling scream erupted from Kai's mouth. It felt like his head was being ripped apart, as if little insects got inside his ears and were eating his brain piece by piece.

The pain was worse than any pain Kai had ever experienced in his life. You could combine the first, second and third worst experiences all together and it wouldn't even come close to this.

Kai fell to the ground, gripping his head in agony. The pain was overwhelming and Kai couldn't hold back his tears as they fell to the ground, a small ripple effect as they hit.

He started to claw at his face, roll around, scream, anything to make the pain stop, and it worked... kind of.

The trees closest to him start to move, their branches extend to stop the light getting through. Once the branches had extended enough, they block out the light... almost as if protecting Kai.

Only Kai was still in deep... trouble. Struggling to get to his feet, Kai wiped away tears as he tried to balance himself. Thankful that the torturous time was over...

Only it wasn't

The ball of flesh, that was watching Kai scream and cry, noticed the light dissapear and started to get antsy.

Groaning and sobbing, all Kai can do is try to run away from the nightmare creature. But he's too slow, he's too hurt, he's too... tired.

Slowly but surely, the ball of flesh started to catch up, it launched a tentacle at Kai, which he is too tired to dodge.

The tentacle wrapped around his leg, causing him to trip. The creature started pulling Kai towards it, the ball of flesh started to shiver in excitement.

Kai closed his eyes, giving up. I don't care anymore... what's the point? I'm not someone who has some extreme motivation to get stronger... I just want to survive...

Survive...

Ah shit...

Gritting his teeth, Kai pullsd out his dagger and slashed at the tentacle wrapped around his leg, but it changed nothing, Kai was still... not moving?

Kai opened his eyes, only to see the ball of flesh squirming around, writhing in pain.

What...

Then he realises, the trees which had moved to protect him, also moved to let the incinerating light shine down on the ball of flesh.

"Ha... aha ha....HAHAHAHAHA"

Kai couldn't hold it in anymore, all his emotions escape his mouth in the form of a laugh. All of his fear, pain, horror, excitement, everything.

Taking his dagger, Kai was careful not to step into the light, also just as careful not to let the creautes wild tentacles. Then, he stabbed.

And stabbed, and stabbed... and stabbed.

Minutes pass and Kai let out all his rage, pain, fatigue, every bad emotion he was feeling he inflicted onto the defenceless blob.

And finally, the most heavenly and soul soothing sound entered his ears.
