Instantly, Kai was overwhelmed by the amount of options of armour. A massive list appeared before his eyes, spanning from Common rarity armours that cost less than one hundred points all the way to a set of armour that cost five million points.
There really was an option for any point range, though Kai wasn't exactly sure how one was even meant to get that many points.
After noticing that Kai was overwhelmed, the cat kindly let Kai know that there was a filter feature to help Kai find any items he would want easier.
That was something that Kai found extremely helpful as he wasn't really sure what sort of armour he wanted, he just kind of knew what he wanted it to do.
For starters, Kai filtered the list to only Rare rarity and above.
Frost Wrym Armour (Rare) - 45000 points
Chainmail of Anarchy (Legendary) - 1250000
Steel Goliath (Epic) - 375000
The options just kept on going and going, even with that filter it seemed that finding a good choice wouldn't be easy.
And Kai did have to set himself a limit, it wasn't just armour he wanted after all, he wanted to buy other things to.
There was the fact that Kai could buy that suit of armour that cost five million points with the help of that free choice he had, but he didn't really want it. It was extremely bulky and was to do with making the wielder's body more in tune with the elements, which Kai thought would be fairly useless for him.
So Kai added more things to the filter.
Now, the armour had to be Rare rarity or above, be a light set of armour, under five hundred thousand points, be flexible and be durable enough to be worth the cost.
And one option instantly caught Kai's eye, one reason being that he was already semi used to it and the other being how useful it would be.
Fortified Bodysuit (Epic) - 250000 points
A bodysuit created from the of the silk of a Celestial Spider. This item is classified as an underarmour, meaning the user can choose to equip another set of armour over it. The silk of a Celestial Spider knows no limits to its creation, the user will be able to change the appearance of the bodysuit to any item/items of clothing up to a cost of 500000 Units. This item will adjust its size to accommodate the wearer. This item has an above average resistance to attacks of a magical nature. Provides the user with +250 Constitution, +150 Dexterity and +100 Stamina.
God how good this item was, and with a price like that... Kai couldn't believe his luck.
Since the nature of this armour was that of an underarmour, Kai would even be able to wear his tunic over it and it wouldn't affect him negatively. The way it always was in games was that someone could only wear one suit of armour, but this item basically made it that Kai could wear two. It was perfect.
Especially with how useful it was. The function of being able to change its appearance meant that Kai could basically wear anything he wanted. Though he wasn't exactly sure what Units were, they must be the universal currency of all Dimensions or something.
And just the fact that it could adjust its size to fit Kai meant that he wouldn't have to fight while his tunic was barely managing to stay on him in his Lycan form.
Plus, since he could change the appearance, couldn't he just make it look like he was wearing a bulky set of armour to give the illusion that he had more defence than he actually had?
There was also all the stat boosts and added bonuses like the resistance to magical attacks, all of that made the item more appealing to Kai.
To be honest, that bodysuit was basically an armour in itself. While actual suits of armour gave much more defense and stats, this bodysuit was just more worth the money.
Still, if Kai had any points left over he would be able to buy another suit of armour to wear over this bodysuit.
So, about three minutes after he first began looking, Kai mentally took note of the first item he could potentially buy, and with the minor boost to his memory from his tunic, he was sure he wouldn't forget it.
The next thing Kai wanted to look for was some sort of spatial storage. He had seen that both Failure and Aldred possessed one, so they mustn't have been that uncommon. Spaital storages were always incredibly useful in any situation. If Kai had one, he wouldn't have had to have been lugging around that sack of potions while he was training with Wa'rak.
But since Kai wasn't exactly sure what category that would be in, he just typed 'spatial storage' into the search bar and hoped that it worked.
And it did.
Instantly, dozens of options of options appeared before Kai. There was a large variety of spatial storages, each having different specialties, different storage spaces, different rarities and there was even one dedicated to the storing of bodies.
How creepy.
To be honest, Kai wasn't looking for much with his spatial storage, he just wanted one that was a reasonable price and had a reasonable storage capacity, nothing too flashy.
And to his luck, there was one that suited him perfectly.
Sapphire Storage Ring (Rare) - 55000 points
A mid tier storage ring. Has the ability to store any non living thing inside its inner realm. The wearer is the exception to this rule, being able to go inside the inner realm to see what they have stored. The storage space is 25x25 metres. Anything stored will be preserved in the state it was in when sent to the inner realm.
To Kai's surprise, there was quite a few of these rings, as if they were created by the same being.
The Common rarity ones were Copper Storage Rings, Uncommon were Silver Storage rings, Rare were Sapphire, Epic was Amythest and Legendary was Gold, obviously.
They increased in space and capabilities with every upgrade, but Kai was fine with the Rare rarity version, he didn't think that he would be storing that much in there if all his items were stored in his soul anyway, this was just a choice he was making just in case he ended up needing to carry something, like potions.
After mentally taking note of that, Kai was kind of lost.
To be honest, those were they only things that Kai thought he needed, and yet he had only spent three hundred and five thousand points, he still had another five hundred thousand to go.
"Ah... the curse of being rich..."
The cat shopkeeper stopped cleaning itself to look up at Kai.
"What was that?"
Kai shook his head after remembering that there was in fact someone other than him here.
"Nothing, just me and my big mouth."
There was still a lot of categories that Kai could go through, so he may as well.
Though he would leave weapons for last, he just didn't believe that he needed to spend points on one, especially when his claws were his main weapon when fused with Umbra and how Esurient was more than viable considering it had its recent upgrade.
Kai decided to check out the Item Upgrade section, thinking that it was the best choice.
To be honest, there was a few things that Kai wouldn't mind upgrading. Esurient, his tunic, maybe even his boots, all were useful in their own way.
But mainly Esurient, Kai was looking here for Esurient's sake. If he would be able to increase the firepower of his trusty sentient blade...
Kai quickly set the filter to weapon upgrade items and read the options that were displayed in his head.
Common Weapon Upgrade (Uncommon) - 25000 points
Uncommon Weapon Upgrade (Rare) - 75000 points
Rare Weapon Upgrade (Epic) - 150000 points
Epic Weapon Upgrade (Legendary) - 250000 points
Legendary Weapon Upgrade (Heroic) - 500000 points
Kai got a little lost at the fact that the weapon upgrade rarities didn't match the rarity of the item, but quickly composed himself.
However, he promptly lost his composure after seeing the rarity of the Legendary Weapon Upgrade.
Heroic? So there is a rarity after Legendary. Huh... that's a little dumb, then why isn't the Crown of Failure Heoric rarity? That seems like the the type of item that should have that rarity, not a Legendary Weapon Upgrade.
Kai sighed disappointedly as he shook his head. Reading over it again, he realised how this item worked.
A Legendary Weapon Upgrade wouldn't upgrade a Legendary weapon to Heroic rarity, it would upgrade any weapon below Legendary rarity straight to that rarity.
However, that price was a little overkill, so Kai paid more attention to the Epic version of it.
Epic Weapon Upgrade (Legendary) - 250000 points
This item will raise any weapon below Epic rarity straight to Epic. The effects of this upgrade will rely directly on the potential of the weapon being upgraded.
Kai shrugged at the description, it was nothing special, just reinforcing what Kai already knew. But the fact that the upgrade relied on the potential of the weapon was a little interesting...
Esurient was definitely a weapon that should not be Uncommon rarity, he just has too much for that to be a reasonable rarity. It's boons were too great to be overlooked, and now that it had unlocked the ability to store souls, surely he had to have massive potential?
It seemed like a reasonably choice to take note of the Epic Weapon Upgrade, so Kai closed that section of the shop and was just about to continue his search when another type of item in the item upgrade section caught his eye.
