Menu Item #2: Hambagu

Ingredients required (For Hambagu):

-1/2 lb ground beef

-1/2 lb ground pork

-1 small onion diced

-3 garlic cloves minced

-Breadcrumbs

-Milk

-1 large egg

-Chopped parsley

-Salt

-Soy sauce

-Ketchup

-Black pepper

-Olive oil

Ingredients required (For Sauce):

-Sake

-Worcestershire sauce

-Ketchup

-Water

Cooking Utensils Required:

-Frying Pan

-Mixing Bowl

(If I forgot to mention something apologies in advance!)

Step 1:

Place your frying pan over medium heat. Once the pan heats up, add olive oil, and then your minced garlic and diced onion. Stir them around for 4-5 minutes until they are golden/brownish and have developed sweetness. Do not let them burn. Set them aside to cool down.

Step 2:

In a mixing bowl, add your ground beef and pork, cooked onions, and all the other ingredients mentioned above to make the patties. Mix it thoroughly for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is well combined and sticky.

(Lofi Tip 1: For the milk, if you would like, you can also use dairy or almond milk.)

Step 3:

Divide the meat mixture into 6 or 8 equal parts, and form them into patties. Place them down on a plate, and slightly press down in the center to create an indentation.

(Lofi Tip 2: This step is important since when we cook them, the center will rise up slightly, so it's better to make it look somewhat even and not bulging.)

Step 4:

Heat up your frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil again. Add the patties to the pan. Cook for about 8-12 minutes depending on how big and thick they are and flip once until they are all cooked thoroughly. If they are browned but not cooked through, you can cover the pan for 1-2 minutes with a lid to cook the insides. Transfer them to plates.

Step 5:

To the same pan, immediately add your sake and stir and deglaze the pan for 10-15 seconds. Then add the ingredients on the list to the sauce. Stir to combine it all, then simmer until desired thickness. Taste test it and adjust to your liking.
