CHAPTER TWO

A tall, athletic, Indian Man walked into the general office of photo and print department and everyone stood up to applaud his presence and welcome him.

"Thank you"

He yelled while smiling, nodding and waving his hands at them. He was dressed in a black, tuxedo and held a brief case. He had a stylish, Korean, hair cut. His dark and curly hair rhymed with his smooth beard and charming, blue, eyes.

He is the head director and CEO of Maxdom Designs and everyone preferred him to Miss Dina Visky; The harsh and strict Russian director, who is is fourty years old but acts like a grumpy granny, She seemed to always have a permanent frown on her hard looking face.

Dina Visky is a proud, talkative, woman. Her Short and chubby stature and the angry look on her face made her appear unfriendly and troublesome.

Kendrick Maxdom was a total contrast to his Aunt, Mrs Visky. Whenever he arrived, everyone felt a bit relaxed and free.

But whenever she was around, everyone behaved orderly in fear and tension.

"Nice haircut Sir!"

Paul yelled as soon as his boss approached him.

"Thank You."

Kendrick replied with the usual broad smile on his face. He always looked his best and all the female employees adored him. However, his interest was Julie Lawson, he saw her as a Smart, decent, and pretty, young, lady. But he never approached her on a personal level or ask her out. The only conversation he ever had with her was.

"You do this." And she replies.

"Yes Sir."

It has been a Strict, Work relationship between them.

Kendrick Maxdom is a thirty seven year old, wealthy, business man. He owns several houses and cars, and he recently divorced his wife Linda Lorenzo, who took custody of their children; A boy and a girl, So now he stays alone in his Mansion and is in need of female company. But he is not dating anyone yet because he hasn't found the right one.

"Where's Richard?"

Kendrick asked Paul.

"He's Upstairs." Paul replied, his eyes fixed on his computer.

"All right." Kendrick says as he looked at his phone, While walking towards an elevator.

The Same elevator opened and Julie walked out slowly, while Carrying a big box of heavy files. She could barely see where she was going and she couldn't wait to drop this box on any available empty table. She had no idea that her boss had arrived and he was walking towards her.

Within seconds, Julie missed her steps and fell on the floor, in front of her boss. Kendrick halted and looked at her, he almost bumped into her.

" I'm so sorry sir,"

Julie says, feeling embarrassed, as she bent down to pick up the scattered papers on the floor into the box.

A few heads turned to look at them. Kendrick kept his phone in his pocket and picked some papers from the floor.

Just then Richard happened to pass by, he glanced at them and looked again, he halted and shifted his gaze to his brother, who he was not expecting to see today.

" Back so early?"

He says as he approached Kendrick, who was staring at Julie and admiring her beauty.

"Yeah I came back yesterday"

Kendrick says as he turned to look at Richard. He held a file in his hand and shook his brother with his other hand.

"How have you been?"

Ken asked his brother while smiling.

"I've been good, I missed having you around". Richard said .

"Me too." Ken says and they hug.

"Thank you sir, but I can handle this."

Julie says in a nervous tone as she quickly grabbed the paper file from Kendrick .

"Oh sure." Ken responded, while looking at his watch. Richard ignored Julie and kept his gaze on his brother.

"Is it ready?" Ken asked Richard.

"yeah it's upstairs." He responded.

"Wanna go check it out?"

Richard asked his brother.

"Sure." Ken replies.

"Here." Richard says as he hands over the bag. Kendrick collects his brief case and walks into an elevator.

Richard looked at Julie, who was still arranging papers in a hurry, he sighed, folded his hands and shook his head.

"Clumsy Daisy."

He says in a mocking tone. Julie frowns and looks at him feeling annoyed.

"Are you gonna help me or not?"

She says in a strict tone with an angry look on her face

"Nah, I'm sure you can handle this."

He says, smiling and is about to leave, but halts and says.

"Oh and when you're done, put it on my desk."

He Pats her head and says.

"Good girl." She ignored him, he goes upstairs to Meet his brother.

When she was done, she carried the box of files and kept it on Richard's desk, Then she went to her office to finish typing and editing. What she was working on initially.

After that, she made a few calls to customer and typed their requests. The telephone on her desk rang so she answered it and said.

" Hello, this is Juliet Lawson speaking, How can I help you?"

The voice of a middle aged man said .

"Uh, I'm John Derkins from Texas and I'm a professional writer, I would like to work at Maxdom Designs, but I don't know if there's vacancy, So I can submit my application and credentials."

Julie responds in a polite tone.

"Sorry, but I'm not sure I have the information you need. Cause there are two hundred employees and five departments in this organization and I only know of my category. But I Know someone, who can help you, I will send her number to you, her name is Dina Visky and she has the information you need."

"Thank you." John replies.

"You're Welcome, So after speaking with her, she'll tell you what to do then you can submit your paper and hopefully she employs you."

Julie says in a friendly tone.

"I will do just that."

He replies in a tone of gratitude.

Julie takes a pause and asks.

"How did you get my number?"

"I saw it in one of your fliers."

John responds sharply.

" All right." Julie concludes .

" Thank you." He says.

"Bye." She replies. And the call ends.

Julie looks at her phone and sees seven missed calls from Josiah.

"Oh wow."

She says, a bit surprised, she received a notification. A text from him, which says.

" I've been trying to call you."

Julie text him.

" Sorry bae, but I'm not allowed to take calls while at work, it's against our work policy, but I'll call you as soon as I get home."

"Okay." He replies.

Julie smiles at a message that popped up on her phone screen. Then she turns off her phone and continues with her work.

Few seconds later, Richard walked up to Julie and spoke to her with a serious almost bored look on his face.

"Mr Kendrick wants to see you."

He says in a strict tone.

"All right."

Julie responds. She wonder why the boss wants to see her but she wasn't afraid. She knew she had been a good employee and Paul can attest to that.

Julie left what she was doing, got up and entered an elevator to arrive at the third floor. When she was there, she went straight to Kendrick's office and knocked twice.

Kendrick sipped from his cup of coffee, he sighed, leaned backwards and began swinging his chair from left to right. He adjusted his tie, looked at his wrist, smirked at the sight of his expensive, gold watch and looked at the door.

Julie paused and knocked for the third time.

"Come in." Ken finally said. He spoke in a calm, polite, tone. But his masculine voice and athletic appearance makes him appear tough and rigid.

"Have a seat."

He said, shortly after she came in, closing the door behind her, she timidly walked to a chair opposite Ken and sat down. Her hands rested on her laps, and her legs were crossed tightly together. She felt a bit nervous.
