The ball compressed itself. The cursed energy around the curse began to follow as well. It morphed and began to form.

The negative energy it fed on was not enough. It needed human emotions but there were only two humans near it. But they are slowly getting near it.

The threat they represented made the ball feel hurried. The pressure was stronger as they both walked near it.

So it chose to evolve.

Ray sensed the change in cursed energy. The flow of its change was so blizzard that he channelled the cursed energy.

Seeing Ray tensed up, Maki also prepared as well. She clenched her weapon tightly. Her gazes scanned across the hallway.

Ray pointed at the end of the hallway. A door was etched on it.

It was not supposed to be like that.

" We have found it. " Ray smiled nervously. They had arrived at this place before and there was no such door.

Even if it did, the door would lead to outside.

" Maki, I want you to be careful there. We probably entered the domain of the curse. "

Ray grabbed the door and signalled Maki to prepare. He then opened the door.

Inside the door was a room big enough to play football.

The white room.

In the middle of the room was a curse sitting. Its appearance was normal for the curse standard. There was no hair, a bald head with eyes popping out.

It grimaced its teeth and laughed. Eyes targeted at them and the curse stood up.

Ray's eyes widened. ' This is the same as Sakuna's finger curse. '

' Shit. ' He cursed at his bad luck.

Maki frowned, she knew that the opponent was strong. But why is Ray smiling?

The curse lifted its palm and gathered the cursed energy.

Ray shouted at Maki. " Dodge. "

The energy ball shot out. It crushed the door. The dust formed due to that but in the absence of the wind, it died.

" You good? " Maki asked.

Ray touched his left shoulder and nodded at her. " Good. Now let's fight that curse. "

Ray and Maki dashed forward. The curse jumped high but Ray activated his cursed technique.

[ Bungee Gum.]

The rubbery aura caught the curse's leg. Ray pulled the aura with reinforced strength. The curse was confused for a moment before being crushed to the floor.

Maki swung her weapon and cut the arm of the curse. She kicked the curse. Ray also entered the fight with a trait-etched aura blow.

Ray and Maki had been sparing. He knew what she could do with the staff and the same goes for her. In a perfect sync team, there was no opening.

The only thing lacking for both of them was a killing blow against the special grade.

The curse broke free from their attacks by shooting out a barrier of cursed energy. Maki cut it quickly within a second but the curse needed just that.

It punched at the chest, making Maki cough some blood. Ray placed his aura onto Maki's back. It allowed her to land softly.

With Maki being pushed to three meters, Ray was pressured by the curse. It was not that heavy if he thought about Taiyo.

In this fight, he only needed raw cursed energy output and strength. There's no cursed technique like ice.

' Clearly, we are at an advantage. The cursed energy in the womb was getting lower. It must have been used up for making that punch. ' Ray thought as he ducked the punch.

He paired with a series of blows to the head. The head was hard to damage but he saw a crack of it. It regenerated quickly but the fact that he caught it meant.

' Getting weaker. ' Ray elbowed the chest and kicked in the head.

' Wait. Where is Maki? ' Ray turned around and saw Maki being sucked into the floor.

' She should not be knocked down by that punch. Unless. '

Ray backed away and punched at the floor. The force spread and was quickly absorbed by something. He noted and ran toward Maki.

He slashed every vein from her and picked her up. His eyes were on the curse the whole time. The curse placed its hand on the floor. Ray's eyes widened in surprise.

The cursed energy entered from the floor to the curse.

It was laughing.

Ray looked down at Maki. Her face looked like she just eat a shit. ' Dreaming? ' He thought. He wanted to observe the effect of the floor veins but right now, he needed a teammate.

He slapped her cheeks. It didn't wake her. So he poured cursed energy into his hand and slapped again. The slap echoed in the room.

The curse's laughter grew louder.

He heard Maki groan. " Wake up. "

Maki kicked him. " Ouch! What was that for? "

" Reflex. "

" What happened to you? " Ray asked.

" That bastard showed me a dream. "

" Mind manipulation? " Ray asked a question.

" I don't think so. He just stimulates the existing memories. "

" I think I understand what it can do. " Ray continued.

" This domain is plain room. Usually, even the incomplete domain had some kind of thing going on. For this domain to be just plain room, the curse must had some kind of technique engraved into it. "

" The memories resurfaced when he punched you. I sense its energy weakened as well. So it must have used a cursed technique there. The technique is probably simple with greater consumption. "

Maki rolled her head. " Too many info dump. "

Ray groaned, " I know. I know. "

Maki grabbed her staff, " Our curse had reached full health. Do you have any plans to defeat him? "

" I will give that responsibility to you. "

Maki smiled with a wave of anger in her eyes. " Good, we will fight until it drains cursed energy. "

" Sound like a long fight. " Ray sighed.

" That is what I want. "
