[Then if you begin your training with the routine of your past life and then follow it up with the 'Old Ways', whilst including the martial arts within the Legacy, then I believe you would be unparalleled within the Mortal Realm once your Qi Cultivation matches your current Body Cultivation.] Sensei added.
[Mortal Realm? What's that?] Ji Min curiously asked.
[Don't worry young lord, once I start explaining the Legacy to you, everything would become clear to you.
For now, you should just focus on getting those herbs before you begin your training tomorrow.] Sensei added whilst Ji Min simply nodded in response.
After having handed over the new training setup which now had a reorganized routine module to Ji Fang, and the list of medicinal herbs he would need to Ji Tang, Ji Min returned to his abode to prepare for the next day.
Then after a few hours of preparation, Ji Min finally decided to call it a day and sleep early; anticipating the true beginning of his adventure.
---
Dawn the next day, Ji Min and Ji Qing met Ji Tang and his sworn brothers at the borders of the Southern Ji Family's landscape.
There was a large carriage that could almost fit thirty people and still have enough legroom standing there, attached to a wild boar that seemed to have started absorbing Qi not too long ago.
Ji Tang was outside whilst his sworn brothers were both seated at the helm of the carriage, leaving the kids to wonder what such a massive carriage was meant for.
"Grandpa!!" Ji Min and Ji Qing both chorused as they arrived before greeting the sworn brothers.
"Un." Ji Tang responded with a nod.
"Are you both ready?" Ji Wang asked whilst Ji Fang who still wore a worried expression on his face looked away and gave a resigned sigh.
Everyone glanced at one another and realized that the father and daughter duo still seem to have one or two misgivings or displeasure about what had transpired the day before.
Sensing the growing awkwardness in the atmosphere, Ji Min stepped forwards and asked;
"Grandpa, why the need for such a large carriage." Hearing Ji Min's question, Ji Tang/Wang chuckled lightly;
"This carriage contains all the materials needed for your training." Ji Tang replied before flicking his sleeves at his sworn brothers;
"Fang, Wang, you guys should head out first and begin all necessary preparations."
"Alright brother." Ji Wang responded before looking to the kids;
"See you soon." He added with a smirk before nudging the wild boar to motion.
The trio watched the carriage leave and disappear into the distance before Ji Qing then asked a pressing question;
"Grandpa, aren't we also heading in the same direction as the carriage?"
Ji Tang laughed softly and caressed his long beard, before turning in the opposite direction which the carriage had left and then pointing into the distance.
Ji Min and Ji Qing followed the trail of Ji Tang's fingers and looked into the distance and were stunned by the sight.
Based on rumors, the Southern Ji Family's 'Old Ways' of training was always held within the swampy area at the borders of the demon continent, but what Ji Min and Ji Qing could see from their position, was a mountain range the size of their pinky finger that was covered in dense forest.
"Grandpa, how are we going to get there?" Ji Min asked whilst Ji Qing's face paled at the realization of the possible response Ji Tang might give.
"Heh, we run of course; after all, your need to warm up before your training begins."
Ji Qing staggered three steps backward and even Ji Min couldn't help out but break out in buckets of sweat.
The sheer distance Ji Tang wanted them to run through was a challenge even some Early Qi Sea stage experts would sweat blood to complete, but now, this was the first task they were given.
"Heh, are you scared?" Ji Tang taunted.
"You can still back out now if you want to." He continued as Ji Min gave a slight smirk and then shook his head.
Ji Qing obviously wouldn't lose to Ji Min and thus she also shook her head as Ji Tang nodded at their decision.
"That's good, because this is only a warm-up exercise, and compared to proceeding training routines you both would go through, it is like measuring the wingspan of a fly to that of an adult dragon." Ji Tang revealed as he flicked his wrist.
Clang! Clang! Bang! Bang!
The sound of several heavy chains landing on the ground shook the area as Ji Min and Ji Qing's eyes popped out in shock.
They both stared at the little chains which could easily act as a leash for a newly born puppy and tried to understand just where, within their structure, their weight was coming from.
They turned their gaze to Ji Tang who gestured for them to pick up the chains, and by the time they did so; Ji Min realized that one of these chains weighed at least 300 kg and was about seven to eight feet long.
The chain was long enough to wrap around his arm or leg but so small in girth that he could move around without feeling cumbersome.
There were eight of these chains; four pitch-black ones and four snow-white ones.
"Min'er, the four black ones are for you, and you are to wrap them around your arms and legs till your training ends." Ji Min nodded and did as he was told while Ji Tang pointed to Ji Qing and gave a similar instruction.
After the duo did as they were told, Ji Tang then explained the nature of the chains to them;
"These chains were made from the spines of Steel Abyss Pythons; a serpent-beast species that constricts its enemies to death.
But the unique trait of this serpent is that its constricting power increases depending on its prey's strength.
This means that these chains can adjust their weight and constriction power based on your strength, and at any level, it can increase it by 50 percent." Ji Tang revealed.
"It initially weighs about 30Kg which allows the serpent to move with flashing agility, but once it catches its prey, it then gradually grows heavier and slower as it strangles the life out of its prey and devours it with no hassle whatsoever.
It is a treasure that our ancestral bloodline founder managed to obtain when he stumbled upon a group of them having an epic territorial showdown."
Ji Tang paused as Ji Min/Qing gazed at the chains that were wrapped around their limbs in awe, relishing the honor of using such an ancestral treasure as training gear.
