ARTHUR WATTS POV
"The White Fang is no longer interested in working with you humans." Adam Taurus replied and he nodded in understanding.
"I can see why you would say that. But we do not represent humans. In fact, our organization is actively working against humans. I don't see why we shouldn't work together in this." Then he thought of something "Plus, we do have Faunus in our group as well." He said as he pointed at Tyrion who let out a maniacal giggle and then gave them an exaggerated hand wave.
Adam Taurus didn't look impressed.
"We worked together with that woman for months." Adam snorted "And look at what we managed to achieve so far. Nothing! We don't even know where that bitch and her two lick-spittles went when our group was attacked by Night Walkers."
"Night Walkers." He managed not to scoff at the name "Is that what you're calling the men who attacked your group."
"And women." Adam added "Mostly women. All of them far stronger than my best lieutenants."
He raised an eyebrow at that.
From what little he had seen, the leadership of the White Fang wasn't particularly impressive.
But if these women managed to defeat Adam's lieutenants as easily as he claims, then they must be strong. Perhaps even as strong as Hazel and Tyrion.
Was it possible that one of them was…
"Did any of those women used strange Semblances?" he asked and noticed how Hazel's usually blank eyes narrowed upon his question and even Tyrion stopped playing around in order to pay attention.
"Strange?" Adam asked.
"Strange as in Elemental attacks. Lightning, Air, Earth, Water. Any of those. Did those women showed any such attacks?"
Adam looked in the distance and thought about it for a moment before he shook his head.
"They didn't have to. They were strong and experienced Hunters. They didn't use any dust during the fights either. Only hand-to-hand combat. And if they did use their semblance, then they did it in a discreet enough manner that my men weren't able to notice."
He nodded. If these women were indeed as good as Adam had claimed then they won't need to use their semblance (or magic) to take out the White Fang grunts or Roman Torchwick and his mute companion for that matter.
Sure, the White Fang had a lot of grunts but they were all rabble picked up from the masses to do the menial jobs. None of them had any real training and it showed.
That was probably also the reason why the White Fang was such an ineffective force. But they did have the numbers and he needed those on his side.
He hummed in thought for a moment before he decided to share the truth with Adam "These women that you talk about. These… Night Walkers. They're most likely the agents of Ozpin."
"The Headmaster of Beacon?"
"Yes. And while he might seem like just a headmaster on the surface, once you start digging, you'll find that he's far more resourceful and influential than you could've guessed. These women probably attacked your ground under his directions."
"And why are you telling me this?" Adam growled.
"Because while we might have lost Cinder and her companions to Ozpin's agents, we're still interested in keeping our end of the deal." He said.
"There is no deal." Adam said "We made a deal with Cinder. And now she's gone. The deal is off."
He scoffed "So is that it? The Headmaster of Beacon bloodied your nose and your group goes off running to hide behind your mother's legs. Is that the kind of group that White Fang is?"
Adam's eyes narrowed and his hand rested on the hilt of his sword "I… will decide what kind of group or not the White Fang is. Not you filthy human."
Ah… the good old racism.
He had to wonder why these Faunus hated the humans so much when they were the same as the racist humans that discriminate against them.
"That is true." He nodded, much to Adam's confusion, and gestured for Hazel and Tyrion to calm down. It would not do to slaughter their prospective allies. He really didn't want to know what Salem would do to him if he failed this mission. "And now you have the option. You can either take the fight back to the humans who attacked your group without provocation or you can run and hide. Though I have to wonder about the efficiency of a group that runs and hides at every setback."
Adam growled at his words but he at least didn't reach for his sword this time. Progress.
Adam remained silent for a moment before he spoke, "Even if we wanted to go forward with the plan, we don't have the Dust anymore. It was stolen by those Night Walkers. All of it."
"I understand how that could be a problem. But I wouldn't be here if I didn't have a solution in mind." He said before he enlarged his scroll and showed the details of his plan to Adam.
Adam took the scroll from him and stared at it for a moment before his frown deepened.
"Attacking a Schnee Dust Processing Plant. One that's so close to Atlas. It's madness." Adam scoffed and threw the scroll back at him "The Atlas specialists and their robots will be on us before we could even loot any of the dust."
"Oh, I know that. But… what if the Processing Plant is not able to send for help? What if the Atlas forces never even know that their precious Schnee Dust Processing Plant is being attacked."
Adam furrowed his brow "And how do you think you're going to achieve that?"
"Oh, you can leave that to me. What you need to focus on is steal 'all' the dust kept in those storehouses and get away with them as quickly as possible. That shouldn't be a problem right?"
"What about the hunters guarding that place?"
"Hazel and Tyrion will take care of them" cue in Tyrion's maniacal giggles "And you can join as well if you're not rusty with that sword of yours."
Adam didn't look very happy with the words. He turned away to look at the map of Remnant on the table, probably in a ruse to buy time while he thinks up on this offer.
After a long and tense silence, Adam finally turned around and nodded at him.
"Very well. The White Fang will accept your deal. One last time. Don't fail us. Or I'll gut you myself."
"That's acceptable." He said with a smile.
The Processing plant won't give them as much dust as he would've liked but they would have to make do.
Salem didn't like incompetence after all and he didn't intend to fail her.
