CHAPTER 59

"ADAM BETTER GET HIS GAME RIGHT IF HE DOESN'T WANT TO FIND ANOTHER MANS RING ON THAT FINGER..." Ciara muttered as we got into the elevator.

"Shut Up. He means nothing....am with Adam remember?" I defended myself and sratched my head. I was in love with Adam but I didn't understand what it meant when I found myself looking at that man like that.

I quickly took the card he gave me and read his name. Cole Haan.

"Just because you're committed to one man it doesn't mean you can find perfection else where...." she whispered and walked out of the elavator which I didn't even notice had stopped.

"Exactly! that's what it means....committed to one man and only in him you can find perfection, not else where. That's cheating....!" I told her off and passed the card through the slot on the door handle.

I opened it and walked into a rather dim environment making me look for the switch. Turning the light on, my eyes feasted on the magnificence I just landed on. It was much more exquisite than the outside view. The interior was really one of a kind. With light walls and a striped floor adding to the glamour, there was also a window with drawn curtains. A blue armchair with a book and a luminous white floor lamp lay in the corner.

A huge elegant traditional drawing hang on the wall with what seemed to be Chinese flowers.

"This girl has cash to spit out, doesn't she??" She asked obviously shocked.

I also noticed, Kelly has been spending so much money and to the looks of things it didn't matter to her. It was as if her father was the richest person in the world according to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires ranking.

"Why waste it when you can spend it?" I grinned and jumped on the bed. It wasn't Kelly's fault that she had so much money. Her fate was just financially bright and it was something she had to be thankful for. I stuffed a pillow in my face and inhaled the sweet perfume coming from the beddings.

They were white and just gave me a comfort I knew I wasn't getting from anywhere else forget spaghetti let alone a cold shower.

"Are you coming for the beach party??" Ciara asked walking around in the room.

"Maybe...." I replied knowing if I would say no again she would also not go.

"That's more like it....now....what did Adam say...???" She asked moving so close to me. She lay besides me in the bed and looked right at my eye. I smiled and got up but she pulled me back.

"You ain't escaping miss...." She threatened and I decided to get it over with.

I took a deep breath and pulled a pillow on which I rested my elbow on, and my palm supporting my chin.

I was staring at her as though mesmerized by Cupid.

"Ask me anything...I'll answer" I wiggled my eyebrows knowing she liked that.

"Did he pop the question??" She asked and I stuffed my head on the pillow and laughed.

"Don't laugh...am just a curious girl..." She shied away and I sat on the bed with her. Holding her hands in mine, I touched her cheeks.

"No. He didn't propose but he did say he's working on it. I told him to take his time because I don't want to pressure him and look like a desperate girlfriend. Long courtship or not, he's awesome and his love is my blueprint. I own him...."

"I understand...." She said as she held my hand in hers.

If I didn't know better, I'd say she was laughing but now that I knew better, I am certain I saw tears in her eyes.

Before I could ask, she pulled me into a hug and her arms played chase on my back.

That was unusual.

"Are you okay???" I asked and I felt her head nodd.

"Am tired of being strong for everyone else...." Her speech was jumpy and I felt her hold onto me very tightly.

Something was definitely up and it was not me and Adam. I suspected it was something to do with Griffin.

Where his parents still refusing to take in Ciara? What was their problem? What was wrong with her? And if a girl is a model she shouldn't get married? If she's an actress it's a sin? What issues did they have with all these? The world is changing rapidly they all had to understand that just because you did good in school doesn't really mean anything. Life is what you make out of it.

"It's their loss...." I comforted her and broke the hug. "So what if you didn't go to Havard.... If we all went there then the other colleges wouldn't be necessary to be built."

She smiled and I smiled back.

"I've found that the things we consider our greatest weaknesses are often the things that make us the most relatable. Understand that people are learning from you in ways that you may never know. I hope you don't live your life for others...do it for yourself..." I pecked her nose and she loved it.

"Am fortunate to have you....when did you learn to be so wise? My guru sister..." she folded her arms and bowed her head for me. I laughed and fell back in the bed. I so loud that I placed my hands in my burning sides.

Although she was sad, she tried to make my days fun and full of happiness. I was thankful to her for making me a priority. For once I forgot I ran so far thinking about the pain I had been through. I felt like I lost my heart along with the rotting corpse but my beautiful friend Ciara proved me otherwise.

"Enough!" she stopped my laughing and took out a packet of biscuits from her bag. She pulled it open and shoved one in her mouth after I refused the offer.

I took my cloths off and wore a beautiful pink cotton bathrobe. I was about to walk into the shower when my phone rang.

"Hello....?" the tiny voice on the other end of the line eased my nerves. Lana. She must have some information about Jeannine.

I quickly sat next to Ciara and put the phone on speaker.

"I have something for you..."

"Out with it...."

"Uh... Jeannine came in a bit early today. She.... she...came on a sparkling scarlet Honda accord ..."

"What??" Ciara gasped, her jaw dropping to the floor. The biscuit she had in her mouth dropped off on to the bed. "Is she dating the son of Jeff Bezos?"
