Chapter 2

With the voice saying those words, they were all lost in their thoughts as the word continued to play in their head especially Jason who could not help but mutter the words as he stared into the unknown while immense with the thought of being brought to life again.

Since the information had already been passed out and every one of them now knew where they were, the voice spoke up once more.

"Now that you are all aware of your situation, you are to proceed toward that glowing orb and place your hand in it and you will be teleported to where you will make preparation for the trial".

A white orb suddenly appeared in the world after the voice spoke up and one after another began to hurry toward the white orb as they all wanted to be reborn and before long they were all teleported to a white room filled with different types of weapons and armor on every side of the room.

"Where are we and what the hell is wrong with this place?" asked an old man, a little scared while looking around him.

This made a lot of them scared of what the trial was going to be when they saw the weapons hanging on both sides of the wall.

While they were complaining about their view, a white figure suddenly appeared in the middle of the room a little blurring making it difficult for them to tell what he looked like. Seeing that he had managed to capture their attention, the figure stretched his hand and an hourglass appeared in the thin air without any support which amused the crowd but before they could enjoy the sight of the hourglass floating in the air, the figure spoke up.

"you have till the hourglass run out to arm yourselves before you are sent to partake on your first trial. Your time starts now".

A lot of shocking screens rang out in the room before there was an uproar as they all went to pick out what they saw fit for them since they didn't have any idea what the trial could be. Meanwhile, Jason who heard the word spoken by the figure was just rooted on the floor as he looked at the others running up and down while dressing up. It took him some time before he finally walked to the armor closest to him as he quickly suited up.

"It feels like this armor is specially made for me" said Jason as he took a good look at himself with a surprised look on his face.

At first, he thought they would be too big for him, especially the boot but to his surprise, they actually fit. After putting on the armor, he began to search for a good weapon, and being the harmless kid he is, he ended up picking a wooden shield which he placed on his back before choosing a staff as his weapon.

The hourglass finally ran out of sand and they were all teleported out of the room without any notice only for them to reappear in a forest with the same figure standing in front of them while facing the forest.

"On the other side of this forest lies an orb. You are to get to where the orb is in four and those who fail to get there within these four days will be disqualified and sent to where they belong while those who made it to the orb will be sent to undertake the next trial".

After saying the rules out for them to hear, no one dares move as they stare at the forest in front of them with fear written on their face. Seeing to have scent their fear, the figure suddenly spoke up.

"You are all souls here and can't be killed; rather you would be deprived of movement once you sustain a serious injury which is why you were given the grace to pick a weapon to protect yourself from getting harm".

A lot of groaning could be heard coming from the crowd and unbeknownst to them, the sky was about to get dark and someone from the crowd was able to notice this as he quickly dashed into the forest without reminding the others about the time limit set by the blurring figure and it was only after someone yell at the man who has already entered the forest before they came to their senses as they begin to hurry into the forest leaving Jason and another kid who happened to be the youngest in the crowd.

While standing lost as he wondered how he was supposed to survive in a place like this, Jason suddenly heard a voice from behind him and it happened to belong to a young boy who happened to be at the same age as him, if not older.

"uhm, since we are the youngest here, it would be difficult for us to protect ourselves so I don't know if you would agree to team up with me. I believe we would be able to fare well if we work together" Said the young boy with his head facing the ground as he was scared to look Jason in the eyes.

Jason didn't think twice about his suggestion before expanding his hand to the young boy and seeing Jason stretching his hand forward, the boy did the same as they shook hands before speaking up.

"My name is Noah, and you are?" asked Noah.

"Called Jason and I appreciate you teaming with me because I don't know how I'm supposed to survive in this forest on my own you know" replied Jason with a welcoming smile on his face.

"I can't imagine walking in this forest in the night all by myself, I will be scared shit but it would be different if I'm with someone" said Noah.

"same here, while don't we get moving before it gets dark" suggested Jason who was focused on making it to the other side.

Noah nodded his head in agreement as they began to walk towards the forest before entering it without hesitating.
