The next morning, the servants woke up and were preparing to go to work and it was then it struck them Jason it was different but they just couldn't put their hands on what it was especially Kristopher who was just staring at him with a confused look on his face but since he didn't know, he decided to put it at the back of his head and order the rest to move out.
Not wasting much time, Jason picked up his tools before following behind them as they made their way to the farmland, along the way, Jason could not stop thinking about the system until he met Mira who was busy tending to some plants.
"There she is, the very woman to put me in this state that I'm in" Jason mutters to himself as he stares at her while following the others.
Mira felt like someone was looking at her and raised her head to see who it was only for him to see that it was Jason. The look she had on her face was a look of shock before going back to work. Meanwhile, Jason didn't look away when she looked over and their gaze met.
"Well, I still have a lot of time to think of my revenge so till then, enjoy your stay here" Jason said inward with a grin on his face.
After getting to their destination, Kristopher instructed them to uproot potatoes and they got to work at first Jason thought it was going to be an easy job until they went from one plot to another before he knew it, it was already in the afternoon and they were still not done uprooting the whole potatoes. They did a lot of uprooting before finally calling it a day as they went back to their hut to rest.
While going back, they came across some of the sect disciples who were busy training and Jason could not help but stop to watch them train a little while before running to catch up with the rest since they would surely leave him behind.
"hey Kristopher can I ask you something?" asked Jason when they got back to the hut.
"what is it Jason, do speak" replied Kristopher who was eating.
"well… It's like this. When I saw those disciples training earlier, I could not help but wonder why you are not a disciple of the turtle sect. I mean you are as strong as they are" said Jason while placing a piece of meat in his mouth.
The hut was noisy a moment ago but suddenly became quiet after Jason as the question and sensing that something was wrong with what he said, he was about to apologize when Kristopher started speaking.
"My parents once served as servants here before I was born so there is no way I would be able to be a disciple since my fate is already sealed. Many of us here were given birth in this place unlike those disciples who were fated to join the sect through the recruitment process" said Kristopher as he asked Jason why he couldn't join the sect as a disciple.
"so you are saying there is no way we would be able to leave this place and become a disciple" asked Jason once more.
"Well, that depends if you were able to catch the elder's or sect leader's eyes else you can just resign your fate to just working here" replied Eric as he let out a sigh.
Jason didn't bother to ask more since it would be a waste of time and just decided to dedicate his time to completing the mission given to him until when the sect began to notice him. That evening after the others had already gone to bed, Jason went out to continue his mission as he did two hundred and fifty push-ups before going to bed.
The next morning, was with the activities of harvesting the potatoes before going home where they would discuss about some matter before they went to bed while Jason would continue with his training.
Three days later while he was doing his push-ups, Jason suddenly received a notification from the system, and with a smile on his face, he stopped his push-ups as he checked to see what it was although he already knew it was about completing the task given to him by the system.
Clicking on the claimed spot, Jason could feel his bones making the same terrifying sound as the first time, and then came the pain he was finding difficult to bear as he grits his teeth while enduring the pain until it was finally over before sitting down while breathing heavily.
"I thought I would have gotten used to this pain but it just gets worse with time" complains Jason.
After getting himself back, he decided to check the system to see what the next quest would be. When he opened the interface to check, he could not help but twitch his mouth in annoyance as to the quest given to him by the system.
"Third stage qi condensation —condition: Punch a tree (0/100)".
"you could have just told me to tell the others to beat me up as well" said Jason in a low voice.
He rested for some time before getting up as he headed to the nearest tree before letting out a deep breath as he threw a punch at the tree only for him to pause with his fist connected to the tree as he didn't let out a sound.
He just stood there not saying anything but if one should take a closer look at him, they would notice the tears flowing down his eyes as he just stood there trying to bear the pain. It took him some time before the pain went away as he withdrew his fist before heading back to the hut while holding his hand.
"this system just wants to torment me, how am I supposed to punch a tree a hundred times" Jason mutters to himself while going to bed.
