Dangerous step

Ethan stood in front of the bed frozen for a full minute before he reacted. Reaching to touch Petal's face. He felt the wetness on her face. Tears were sliding down from her closed eyes. There wasn't any movement from her body but she was crying.

"Petal," Ethan called in a low voice fearing that he might scare her. There wasn't any reply. 

"Why are you crying? Are you in pain?" He was worried that she might be in pain but once again. There wasn't any form of reply. 

Ethan sighed, lowering his head. He was angry and disappointed. For a second. He thought that she finally decided to wake up and the long painful waiting time was over. Running his hands through his hair. He swallowed the lump in his throat trying not to cry. He promised her that he will be strong. That he will wait for her. That he won't lose hope. But it is easier said than done. He missed looking into her hazel eyes so much to the point that it hurts.
