'Finally.' Yoake thought as he finally saw a perfect Pokemon to test Weepinbell's skills. The dragon-like Pokemon gave a taunting look to the small puny trainer compared to him, all the while, the prepared Weepinbell also gave a taunting look at the Gyarados.
"I can see how you're very excited about battling Gyarados. Mostly, trainers just surrender and prefer battling my Starmie, but it seems you're the rarer case, huh?" Misty stated as she saw how the trainer was in a fierce mode and is willing to battle against her mighty Gyarados instead of Starmie.
"Well, Brock's Onix isn't exciting, and I'm hoping this one will do," Yoake stated.
"I see, now, where were we? Right." Misty asked the trainer as she wants the battle to continue. Yoake also focused on the battle just like before Gyarados showed up.
"GYARADOS, use SURF!", "Weepinbell, use VineWhip!"
A waterspout was created once more but it was twirling to the dragon's body, Weepinbell once again elongated his stem once more and the battle continued.
Misty saw the opposing Pokemon's motives and so, she decided to counter it before it even attacks.
"Gyarados, point surf Upwards!" Misty told her Pokemon. The fierce Gyradaos quickly noticed the Weepinbell, who was clinging on to the scaffoldings, above and was at a distance enough from the Gyarados. Even though the height of the atrocious Pokemon can't reach the elevated enemy, its waterspout can.
And so, The Pokemon concentrated the waters of the pool into its waterspout so it can reach Weepinbell, and Yoake realized Misty's motives and decided to catch on and counter before things get out of hand with the trainer.
"Weepinbell, be cautious." Yoake alarmed his Pokemon as he was worried if Misty's attack would cause vain for Weepinbell, but he clings on to the Pokemon's determination.
The atrocious Pokemon finally used the full might of the waterspout and formed a colossal wave toward Weepinbell, the Pokemon quickly swing from one scaffolding to the other, just to dodge it before he gets in severity in the battle.
The Pokemon slightly dodged the powerful surf, as he was damaged at the rear parts of his plant body, but in the end, he still survives.
"Now, ENERGY BALL!" Yoake shouted. After dodging Gyarados' surf, he quickly went to the enemy's mouth, formed a glowing green ball, and threw it with a powerful might, which led Gyradaos a quick faint.
Misty failed to comply on the faint, and so, the referee of the battle decided to call it a victory for Yoake's side since Gyarados has fainted while Weepinbell survived with slight damage.
"Gyarados has fainted, leaving Weepinbell victorious. Which leaves the winner is Yoake Katusragi from Pallet City." The referee stated. Misty gave a slight nod and a sigh as she withdraws the fainted Gyarados back to its Pokeball. She then walked toward Yoake and gave him the Cascade badge.
"Well, a winner is a winner after all. Here, you deserve it." Misty congratulated the trainer as she handed the badge. Yoake took it and puts it in his pouch with a small smile on his face.
"Okay, Weepinbell, return." He said as he takes out the Pokeball and withdrew flycatcher Pokemon back to its plastic home.
"Say, Can I ask you how does Weepinbell know how to swing from one thing to another?"
"Well, while I and Kirlia were looking for our first starter, we saw how good he was on swinging from one tree to another, I decided to use it to my advantage, from Brock and to also here," Yoake answered Misty's question, however, she was confused about how Bellsprout was his starter instead of the known ones like Charmander or Squirtle.
"Huh? Bellsprout is your starter? Usually, it's the trio, what happened?" Misty asked the trainer, Yoake knows the answers since Professor Oakido mentioned something about it.
"Oh… well, Professor Oakidot mentioned something on the line of the starters are all out and was being used in Kalos," Yoake answered her question. Misty nodded and followed his answer.
The two left the gym filled with joy in their hearts as they finally got the cascade badge from Misty, as they walk out, they receive a text from a familiar name.
'Hey, are you done getting the badge?' the text read, it was from Ren. Yoake did tell her that he'll get the badge before it was lunch, and so, he did. Yoake decided to reply to her inquiry.
'Yup.' Yoake answered. While he was texting, Kirlia smirked at the young trainer, a smirk that feels like she was concluding, and the trainer saw it.
"What?" Yoake asked the Pokemon. She was still silent but she was still giving off that annoying smirk. The trainer realizes she was thinking about the two, and he decided to give her a sigh.
"No Kirlia, we're friends or rivals to say, besides, I already have someone else," Yoake said as he looks at the scarf and dismisses the thing that Kirlia was assuming, she decided to groan and so the two continued.
'Cool, So I have something to tell you, where do you want to meet?' Ren texted. Yoake began to think, and realize that he is getting hungry, after all, they only ate bread earlier, so its the best for them to grab some lunch later on.
He looked at his phone, and saw a diner nearby, he decided to text it to Ren, she gave alike to the place. He puts his phone back in his pocket and continued.
"Right, let's go," Yoake said to Kirlia as they walked to the diner and waited patiently for Ren.
