Olton Empire,
Inside the king's castle, a middle aged man was sitting in the center of the room, meditating. Flickers of faint red light constantly surrounded him before eventually being absorbed by his body. This was the king of this empire, Aron, who had reached rank 5.
He was 200 years old and only had a hundreds years to live, he, like any other being, didn't want to die and so, was struggling for a breakthrough, however, the cultivation starting from rank 4 in the warrior's path became excruciatingly slow.
Just as he was cultivating, he felt someone approaching his room.
"Who is it?"
"It's this humble servant, milord." A man with a hunch back said as he entered the room. This was the king's advisor whose real name was unknown, everybody called him lord hunch back, aside from the king, of course.
"Did you find any clues to where our ancestor went?" The king, Aron, asked with anticipation in his eyes apparant.
"No, lord, it seems that ancestor has really left for the last continent." Old man hunch shook his head in response, greatly disappointing the king. The last continent they were talking about was the biggest continent near the two Islands of the surface of this world.
The king looked at him for a while with complicated emotions. If not for the fact that this old man hunch was a great tactician, he would've commanded the guards to behead him right now.
"You can go..." The king murmured in a low voice which carried a peculiar coldness.
Old man hunch didn't dare to stay there any longer, he exited the room as fast as he could.
The ancestor they were talking about was the guardian of this kingdom.
Hundreds of years ago, when the humans didn't have a safe place to live, it was him who had become the hope of hundreds of thousands of people as he was an exceptional genius of the warrior's path.
From the son of a village chief, to a genuis who had established a kingdom, he had almost became a legend now.
His only goal was to provide his people with a safe haven, so once he had established the kingdom, he went into seclusion and became the guardian here and eventually brokethrough to rank 6 warrior, a realm of power which was almost impossible to achieve even for this king.
Even though he wasn't interested politics, he was still displeased by the slaughter that Aron's family had committed. Wiping out several noble families and the previous royal family to gain power.
A decade after the royal family was slaghtered, the guardian left the kingdom, without anye explanation. Now it had been a little more than 2 decades and the kingdom could only reached one conclusion, and that was that he had left this Island entirely.
Aron was lost in his thoughts but soon, he felt the entire castle's inhabitants die all at once, or rather, killed at once.
'Who dares to do this?!'
Before he could react properly, a young man who looked to be around 21~23 years old entered the room with an axe in his hand, his cultivation at rank 5.
"Wh-who are you?!" Aron screamed as he readied his blade, but soon, he felt the entire room being filled with darkness at a visible rate.
He turned around and attempted to jump outside through the window, however, before he could jump, he was attacked heavily with the tip of the axe, breaking his backbone.
"Argh!" Aron screamed in pain as the area in his 10 km radius burst into flames.
But the high tempreture didn't seem to have an effect on the young man as the darkness energy particles around him shielded him from any harm.
The young man with the axe was Keith, who had led all the members of his mercenary guild come here, kill everyone present at once and attack the king while his sister, Nessa, went and hypnotized the four major aristocratic families of his kingdom.
Then, a battle ensued. A battle which destroyed the entire castle and the houses in the county.
After a few hours of battle, the king was killed by Keith. Although the soldiers had arrived at the scene, they were all easily subdued by Keith's aura.
Keith was no longer an ordinary warrior, he had become somewhat akin to a magus in terms of abilities and strength thanks to his lord's help.
Not only did the soldiers surrender, but the aristocrats as well, making him the new king.
