The scourge Virus.

A few months had gone by since the Viltrumites came to earth and in those few months Clark had managed to build a somewhat stable friendship with the three viltrumites Kregg, Lucan, and Thula.

' Hard to believe how many months have gone by since they came to earth.' Clark thought to himself as he washed the dishes.

" Clark, I'm going to see Thula. I will return... Okay?" Anissa said.

" Okay, be safe and have fun." Clark said as he kissed the woman goodbye. " She's really been coming around recently. Hard to believe the cold-hearted bitch I met all those months ago is so different now. I mean the killer is still there, but she's really calming down." Clark said to himself as he continued washing the dishes. Suddenly his cell phone went off.

Clark reached over for his cell phone and saw that eve was the one calling. He answered the phone and could tell instantly that the girl had been crying.

" Hang on eve slow down. What happened to Mark?" Clark asked

" Mark... He was hit by the scourge Virus. He's in the Viltrumites hospital right now. They don't know if he's going to live." Eve said over the phone, doing her best to speak through her tears.

Clark quickly ran towards his and Anissa's bedroom and switched out of his clothes and into his suit. He grabbed his phone and dashed out of the house racing up into the atmosphere and into space. Clark arrived at the viltrumites ship and immediately made his way to the medical wing.

" Eve!" Clark called out as he ran into the room. He arrived to see the entirety of the guardians of the globe, Eve, Cecil, and Thragg waiting on the boy.

" Clark he's... Oh god." Eve cried.

" Thragg! What the fuck happened?!" Clark yelled out.

" The unotopian, Allen I believe his name is, created a stronger variant of the scourge Virus. He is responsible for infecting the boy." Thragg said to the man.

" He did what?!" Clark asked in anger. " Damn it." Clark said in frustration. Seeing that he had nothing to offer at the moment clark made his way over and sat next to eve.

" It's okay Eve, mark will make it through this. I know he will." Clark said as he rubbed the woman's back. Eve simply held her face in her hands and continued crying.

After some time two more guests arrived on the viltrumite ship. Allen and Dinosaurus.

" Okay, okay! I said I was sorry! I thought you'd been in outer space before. I figured you could hold your breath in the vacuum of space." Allen said as he apologized to dinosaurus

" Why would you assume that?" Dinosaurus asked

" What in the? So, I take it you've all met Invincibles' friend Dinosaurus." Allen said to the group.

Clark hearing the voice walked back into the room. He walked up behind Allen and Dinosaurus and tapped Allen on his shoulder.

" Excuse me." Clark said drawing Allen's attention. When Allen turned around clark drove his fist straight into Allen's jaw sending flying Clark turned his attention to the red dinosaur recognizing him as the one who blew up Vegas months ago.

" You!" Clark growled as his eyes turned red.

" It appears you intend to attack me. I am told that my ally Invincible is deathly ill. Is he not your friend? Are you not concerned for his wellbeing? I do not know the strength and stability of this vessel, but I am certain a fight between us would do considerable damage, possibly reaching Invincible, furthering his injury or at the very least interfering with the efforts to cure him. Furthermore, I am a genius. I can help." Dinosaurus explained to clark and the rest of the guardians.

" That will not be necessary. Your services will not be needed." Thragg said as he and two other viltrumites walked into the room.

" Who are... No matter. From what I know of your people and your relationship to earth, the only possible reason you would even attempt to cure invincible would be to gain favor with the people of earth. Logically you would not attempt to gain that favor if you didn't deem it to be absolutely essential. I am offering my assistance because Invincible is useful to me. Can you really afford to turn away someone who is more than likely able to help?" Dinosaurus asked as he explained the situation to thragg.

" Clear one of the labs for this creature. The rest of you leave. There is nothing for you to do here. We are hard at work on this situation. Having you here only complicates things. Our location will not change. You can return at any time. Go." Thragg ordered.

" I hate to admit it, but thragg is right. All of you follow me." Clark ordered as he lifted the unconscious Allen on to his shoulder.

Clark escorted the heroes off if Thraggs ship and safely down to earth. Once, there he gave Allen to oliver and told him to deliver a message when he wakes up.

" If you ever try something like this again. I won't kill you. I will kill every single living thing on Talescria." With that warning he left to take eve home.

" Are you going to be okay eve?" Clark asked as he and eve walked into their house.

" I'll... I've spent time without him... Worried about him before. I truly believe he'll be okay. He'll pull through. So, I'm fine." Eve responded

" Well, if you need anything I'm here for you." Clark said before an alert on eve's phone went off.

" Oh, crap not again." Eve said as she looked at her phone.

" What is it?" Clark asked

" Some monster is tearing down a power station. And it's one of Invincible Inc's few remaining clients. I don't care-- I can't-- But that business is just over." Ever declared sadly.

" Maybe not." Clark said with a smile.

" What do you mean?" Eve asked as she looked at the smiling man.

" Do you have a spare suit?" Clark asked

" Yeah, why?" Eve asked again even more confused than before.

" The people are paying for Invincible. Well, let's give them Invincible." Clark said as he started to take his suit off. Eve quickly ran upstairs and brought down one of Mark's suits and clark put it on. Once he was ready, he flew out of the house and raced towards the power station. Once he got there, he quickly destroyed the monster and saved the station. When he was done, he flew back to a happy eve. She thanked him and took the spare suit.

" Well, again if you ever need my help eve, just call my name as loud as you can. I'll be here as soon as possible." Clark said to the woman as he prepared to leave.

" I will and thank you again Clark." Eve said with a single tear in her eyes and a smile on her face.

Clark waved to the woman and took off towards his home still seething over what Allen had done.

' When Anissa and the others here about this their blood will boil.' Clark thought as he flew through the air.

" I'll let Kregg know first." Clark said as he pulled out his phone and dialed the man's number.

" Hello Clark, how can I help you?" Kregg asked as he picked up the phone.

" Kregg are you around your mate right now?" Clark asked

" Yes, I am. Why? What's wrong?" Kregg asked

" Kregg, what I need to tell you is important meet me at Anissa's place fast." Clark said to the man.

" I can't leave right now, We're in the middle of something." Kregg replied.

" Okay, but you might need to leave the room for a second. trust me you don't want to be near her when I tell you this." Clark said to the man.

" Okay give me a second." Kregg said as he put down his phone.

After a few seconds Kregg's voice came back on the speaker.

" Okay, what's going on?" Kregg asked.

" The Coalition has created a new and stronger version of the scourge Virus." Clark said answering the man's question. Clark could hear the sound of metal being crushed in the background.

" Thank you for telling me this. What are you going to do about it?" Kregg asked.

" I don't know yet. I want to get everyone's input. So, I'm not making a decision until I can get you, Lucan and Thula to meet with me. Are you free tomorrow?" Clark asked

" Yes, I will meet you at Anissa's." Kregg responded.

" Okay, I'll see you tomorrow." Clark said back to the man.

" Clark thank you for telling me this." Kregg said to the man before hanging up.

" You're my friend Kregg I'd never keep something detrimental to you or your people from you. Take care my friend I will see you tomorrow." Clark said before hanging up the phone.

" Okay next is Lucan." Clark said as he dialed the man's number. After a few seconds Lucan picked up the phone.

" Clark, what's up?" Lucan asked, he by far seemed to have come around to Clark the most in the past few months.

" Lucan are you with your mate?" Clark asked

" No, why should I be?" Lucan asked in confusion.

" No, but there is something important I need to tell you. The coalition has managed to create a stronger variant of the scourge Virus. Nothing is being done tonight, but Kregg, Anissa, and I are going to have a meeting about it tomorrow at our house I need you to be there. Can you make?" Clark asked as he got straight to the point.

" Yes, thank you for telling me." Lucan said before hanging up abruptly.

" I figured he'd be more upset than Kregg. Next up is Thula." Clark said as he dialed her number.

" Clark what is it?" Thula asked

" What are you doing right now?" Clark asked

" I was trying to sleep. Do you want me to come over again?" Thula asked alluding to one of the many times she had slept with him and anissa.

" No, right now I need to tell you something Important." Clark said to the woman.

" What is it then spit it out?" Thula demanded

" The coalition has created a stronger variant of the scourge Virus. Kregg, Lucan, Anissa and I are having a talk about it tomorrow at our house. I need you to be there." Clark said as he explained the situation to the woman.

Clark could hear the woman breathing heavily before the phone disconnected. What Clark didn't know was she had crushed her phone in her hands

" That was either a good reaction or a very angry one regardless, The worst is yet to come." Clark said as he realized he only had Anissa to tell now.

Clark landed in front of his and Anissa's home and walked in too the sight of the woman wearing nothing but a towel.

" Oh, hey Clark." Anissa said as she started to get dressed. " Is something wrong?" Anissa asked seeing the look on the man's face.

" Anissa, we need to talk." Clark said.

Anissa immediately turned around and grabbed Clark by his collar.

" Are you trying to leave me?" Anissa asked angrily.

" No, Anissa. It's worse than that." Clark said as Anissa let him go.

" What is it then?" Anissa asked

" I think you should sit down." Clark grabbed the woman by her hand and led her to the couch. he then sat down and pulled her into his lap. Anissa wrapped her arms around clakr's neck and asked him again.

" What's wrong? What's got you so spooked?" Anissa asked

" Promise you won't freakout." Clark asked the woman.

" Clark if you don't tell me right now, I'm going to beat you silly. Anissa declared.

Clark took a deep breath and began to tell the woman what happened.

" The coalition has created a stronger variant of the scourge Virus." Clark said.

Anissa's face immediately turned red with anger.

" WHAT?!" Anissa yelled as she jumped from her seat. " What are we sitting here for? We need to go destroy them now!" anissa yelled.

" Anissa no! We need to be careful about this. I've already told Lucan, Thula, and Kregg. They are all coming here tomorrow. then we will devise a plan to deal with the coalition. For now, we need rest." Clark explained.

" The longer we wait the more time they have to prepare an attack. If you don't want to go fine. But I'm not going to sit back and wait for death to come for us." Anissa said as she walked towards the door.

" Anissa stop." Clark yelled out. When it seemed, the woman wouldn't listen Clark grabbed her.

" Let go of me Clark." Anissa demanded.

" No just listen to me." Clark said

" Let go of me now!" anissa yelled.

" And do what? Watch the woman I love rush to her death?" Clark asked. Anissa seemed to stop her struggling a little. " Anissa if you go there now with no plan in mind and as emotional as you are. you're only going to get yourself killed. You may not care for our relationship much, but I do. I'm not losing the one good thing to ever happen to me." Clark declared to the woman.

" Clark this virus ravaged my people. We can't let them do it again." Anissa declared

" We aren't we're waiting for the others to think of a plan. Once we have one then we will go after the virus for now. Please stay with me. If you ever do anything for me, please just do this one thing." Clark begged.

Anissa reluctantly stopped her fighting and relaxed into Clarks arms.

" Okay clark. Okay." Anissa said as she settled down.

Clark put the woman down and watched as she walked to her room. Anissa laid down on her bed and went to sleep. Clark stripped down to his boxers and followed behind her, getting into bed and pulling her into a tight embrace.

Though she would never voice it, Clark could see the fear and pain written on her face.

" No matter what happens to me I will always be there to protect you, Anissa. I swear I won't let the scourge virus destroy what's left of the viltrumites. You, Kregg, Thula, Lucan all of my friends. I swear upon my name history will not repeat itself." Clark said as he cupped the woman's face in his hands. Clark leaned down and kissed the woman softly feeling the anxiety leave the woman's body as she relaxed in his arms.
