Clark's Pov

The next day after the terrible three day assault The remaining heroes and I began clearing the major cities of the rubble. thankfully many of the suburban areas were spared from the carnage. " This is insane. I can't believe how much damage they could do." Maybe I should stay for a little while before returning at least long enough to be at the funeral. I owe them at least that much for not being here when they needed me." Having been here for hours I head back to base to see my parents. " I've been so busy fighting I haven't even seen them since I got back. I hope they're ok."

"Cecil hey could you show me too my parents please."

(cecil)" Sure thing kid."

Mark's Pov

(Mark)" Hey got another body over." Mark says as he moves the Rubble out of the way for rescue teams to get to the body. " Damn it had I helped sooner maybe, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Clark was right I am a coward?

(Conquest)" Stand ready for my arrival worm! You have been appointed Viltrumite Agent of this planet, Charged with preparing it for eventual take over by our empire. I am here to confirm your progress made towards that task....

If there is none, I will assume your duties and take over. If you oppose me I will Kill you."

(Mark) This old man he's wearing the same kind of outfit Anissa wore, which means he's a viltrumite too. " This isn't a good time."

(Conquest)" Maybe you do not understand the situation. The viltrum empire anticipated your resistance That is why they sent ME specifically. I am Conquest. I have never failed to assimilate a chosen planet, no matter it's strength. If you choose to oppose me, you will not survive.

(Mark)" Maybe you do not understand. I have caused all this destruction you see around you. The lives lost are a direct result of my actions, I Can't describe the guilt, shame... And most importantly Anger that I feel right now. All I have thought about- The only thing I've wanted since all of this happened... Was something to hit as hard as I can.

(Conquest)" Very Well."

And with an enraged Mark charges the mighty Conquest.

Clark's Pov

(clark)" Ma, pa I'm sorry again for being gone so long."

(martha)" We're just glad you're ok sweet heart."

While the family was finally reunited cecil enters the room with distressing news for clark.

(cecil)" Superman! We got a Very big problem."

(clark)" What's going on cecil!?"

(cecil)" Marks fighting another one of those viltrumites, eve went to help him, but I don't think they can handle him."

(clark)" Damn it! Ma. Pa I'll be right back." And without another word I race off to help mark and eve. When II get there I'm shocked to see Marks holding eves Brutalized body crying. " MARK!" I touch down beside him

(Mark)" Clark. Help me eve she's hurt." He says as tears are flowing down his face I look down and see the same from eve.

(clark)" MARK! Who did this?" I ask him with anger in my voice.

(Conquest)" I did! Who are you my new challenger?"

(clark)" No I'm your executioner!" I say as my eyes burn red with fury.

(Conquest)" We'll see about that boy!"

(clark) He licks his lips and charges right towards me. I do the same and as we collide I feel myself being overpowered for a bit. I made a mistake I judged his strength by that of other viltrumites I've faced. He slams me into one of the broken buildings and punches me in the face sending me flying backwards a bit. I look down and see blood flowing from my nose. "Hmm how long as it been since I've fought someone strong enough to make me bleed. I'll admit it old man I've underestimated you. You're much stronger than lucan, or thula, or even omniman."

(Conquest)" Is that right boy? I'm glad there's someone on this trash planet that can withstand my might."

(clark)" Yes and with that said I think it's time to stop holding back!" We rush at each other again this time I use my full strength to completely overwhelm him pushing him back through the destroyed city slamming him into multiple buildings. As I have I use my heat vision to drill a Whole into his chest. He screams out violently

(Conquest)" Arghhhh YOU BASTARD! WHO ARE YOU!?"

(clark)" Since you're going to die any way. My name is Kal-el The last son of krypton!"

(Conquest)" What We destroyed Krypton years ago that's not possible!"

(clark)" I told you already you're going to die here dead men don't need to worry about it." I say as I resume my charge at him, however before I reach him I hear another yell coming towards us. What is that mark what is that idiot doing. As I turn to look at mark Conquest rails me in the chest sending me flying. " Damn it I dropped my guard. MARK! What the hell are you doing?" I yelled as he tackled the Man once again.

(Mark)" THIS GUY KILLED EVE! He's Mine to kill."

(clark) What he killed eve. No damn it damn it. " Fine Mark He's yours, but the second it looks like he's gonna kill you I'm stepping back in." I reluctantly stand down allowing mark to fight conquest To Avenge his fallen Love, But it still doesn't sit right me.

Mark and Conquest charge at each other and during their clash both of them end up destroying each other's arm. Conquest machine arm is smashed into pieces and Marks arm snaps and his bone tears from his skin. " Damn it mark get back I'm stepping in."

(Mark)" No I told he's mine"

(clark)" Damn it mark now's not the time for this he'll kill you." Damn it mark why do you always have to be so damn stubborn. Fine if you're that determined to see this through I won't stop you.

Mark and Conquest charge each other again and conquest is just beating him relentlessly. " Damn it mark Don't die to this guy." I said and as I did I watched mark bite into Conquest tearing the flesh from his traps. Conquest back hands mark to get him off. Mark goes back on the offensive slamming Conquest into the ground and he bashes his head in and for a minute it seems like marks won, However something catches our attention in the distance something pink. "EVE!" we both say however Conquest takes this opportunity to attack mark, but before he can finish him Eve Arrives and blasts Conquest with an energy beam that tears the flesh from most of his body. Eve begins to fall as I catch her.

(Conquest)" This time I'll make sure you're dead."

(mark)" You will not touch her! Clark get her out of here." He says as he once again tackles Conquest into the ground.

(clark)" I'll watch over her, but I'm not leaving you mark." I say to him letting him know that I'll be here if he falls.

Mark continues to beat on Conquest, but the old dog isn't out of the fight yet.

(Conquest)" Got more than enough fight in me to at least kill you boy." He said as he crushed marks last hand. " See? More than enough."

(Mark)" Not enough. Not nearly." Mark said as he drove his skull into conquests face over and over again. " Is this still fun?! Are you enjoying yourself?! Having fun?! WELL?! Answer me!" Mark yells as he continues to drive his skull into conquest.

(Conquest)" Heh. I take the good with the bad." he say smiling As mark continues bashing his skull in with his own. Until finally Conquest is dead.

(Mark)" Eve hold on I'm coming."

(clark)" Hold on mark let me help you." I said to him as I picked him up and carried him to where eve was placing him down next to her as I cover them both with my cape.

(Mark)" Thank you clark."

(clark)" don't mention it I've already called cecil to bring the medics we'll get you both to safety in no time until then I'm not leaving your side."

(Mark)" Eve? How? I saw- How are you-?

(eve)" Ughn? Mark?"

(Mark)" You're alive."

(eve)" I am. you too."

(clark)" Yeah you both owe me so much."

(Mark)" You're right! I love you eve."

(eve) Love you too."

(Mark)" I thought. I thought you were..."

(eve)" Mark? Mark are you? Hey. Am I? Naked?"

(clark)" And like that she's out like a light I swear you two are gonna be the death of me someday."

Once everything was said and done cecil arrived with help I wrapped eve up in my cape preventing the others from seeing her naked and hand he to monster girl, while I grab mark and we all head back to base. after getting those two checked in and saying goodbye I take my family back home to our farm house and rest for the funeral is to be held in a few days for rex.
