Chapter 34: Shopping with the girls and Returning home

When Bai Yi Yang arrived at the indoor playground, Bai Yi Ling is chatting with a same aged girl and Bai Yi Fang is swimming in the pool of colourful balls. Bai Yi Yang sigh, that girl really has so much energy.

"Jie!" Bai Yi Fang call out loudly from the pool. There are also a few smaller children in there with her. They all also follow to call out 'jie' towards her. Bai Yi Yang doesn't know how to respond with that, she only smiled at the giggling caretakers.

"Xiao Ling, Fang Fang. Come, we are going back." She called the two girls. Bai Yi Fang happily ran to the edge of the pool and after saying farewell to new friends, she ran towards Bai Yi Yang. Bai Yi Ling also said goodbye to the friend she is talking to.

Bai Yi Yang said thanks to the caretakers before the three of them head out. Bai Yi Fang still turn a few times to wave at her little friends in the pool, they are making so much noise that Bai Yi Yang wanted to quickly disappear. The children are really uncontrollable.

"I had so much fun. Next time when I came here, I will met them again. They all live in town." Bai Yi Fang says without anyone asking her first.

"Not all, my classmate and her younger brother is living further away than us." Bai Yi Ling said.

"Ohh..then I will just find another friends. They all can't beat me when it comes to climbing." She was referring to the miniature wall climbing with thick cushion, it was only 2 meters high.

"Fang Fang seems to like it a lot." Bai Yi Yang comment.

"En. But it was a bit boring, the place is not very big." Bai Yi Fang said.

"Yeah, unfortunately that is the only indoor playground here." Bai Yi Yang add. She already know where she can let her siblings play the next time they come to town, they will come more here in the future.

"I like it too. Next time, can we bring Xiao gege too?" Bai Yi Fang ask.

"Of course." Bai Yi Yang answer, if she know that the place is quite decent, she would have bring Xiao Mo along.

They all head to the open market to look around. The foodie Bai Yi Fang drool over a lot of food in the market, Bai Yi Yang bought some street food from the stalls to bring home so they don't need to cook lunch later. Bai Yi Yang bought egg custard tarts from a stall that specialise in it, they sells hundreds of egg custard and they need to wait a bit to buy it. They can smell the fragrant egg custard from far away which pull in people to come buy. Bai Yi Yang end up buying 15 pieces which was put inside a flat box.

Then Bai Yi Yang bought some more sweet desserts such as mung bean cake, sesame seed balls, raspberry snowflake cake, bright pink fortune cakes and pineapple tarts. She bought these in small quantities, it should be enough for them to eat. Unfortunately they haven't install the fridge, if not she really would have bought so much more.

"Jiejie, its soy milk pudding." Bai Yi Fang pointed at a stall. She recognise soy milk pudding because Bai Yi Chen will sometimes bring it home for them. It wasn't an expensive dish.

"Okay, let's buy it." Bai Yi Yang went to order 5 small containers of soy milk pudding with caramels topping.

Then they went around and bought food mainly, there are also cold drink in Bai Yi Ling hand now, it is a kind of sweet drinks with colourful toppings that attract Bai Yi Fang attention, Bai Yi Yang bought it for her to satisfy her curiosity. And of course she loves it, it has sweet and milky taste, slight strawberry flavour too. She generously shares it with Bai Yi Ling who equally likes it.

After finish buying food to bring home, they head to the largest supermarket to go for some more shopping.

"Lets go to the clothing section." Bai Yi Yang push Bai Yi Fang on the trolley and ask Bai Yi Ling to follow her.

Bai Yi Yang is looking for towels, bath towels for the bathrooms, hand towels for the kitchen and bathrooms too. They arrive at the towels section and Bai Yi Yang took a whole bunch of towels in white colour. The two girls look at her.

"Jiejie, we all have our own towels at home and this is a lot." Bai Yi Ling said.

"I know, we are changing our towels. As for why I bought a lot, it's so that we can immediately put in in the washing machine after using it, it is more hygienic." Bai Yi Yang explain.

"This are for bath towels, these are for you to wipe your hand with after washing hands, understand?" She said. The two girls nod and insist of changing some of the towels colour to pink and blue. Bai Yi Yang listen to them and buy half in pink and blue.

Then they go to the school uniform section. Bai Yi Yang has seen the school uniforms for their school, there are two type, the formal one and the daily clothings which looks like tracksuit. It wasn't that bad, they were store properly in the cupboard but it looks quite old and it was bigger than their size especially for Bai Yi Ling.

Bai Yi Yang choose one set of formal uniform for her which consists of short sleeve white shirt, a plaid pleated skirt in dark blue and grey colour, there are also a bow, tight high socks and white school shoes. Then she also choose a complete set of male uniforms in Bai Yi Chen measurement. Each set for the formal uniform is 215 yuan, the male clothing is 234 yuan, it was the one in the better materials and sewing section. Then, she choose 2 tracksuit set for each of them, it consist of blue long tracks, white shirt and a jacket in blue and white colour. It wasn't expensive, only 86 yuan per set.

Then she went to the primary school section, Bai Yi Ling formal school uniform consist of long sleeve white and dark blue clothes with a bow, a pleated skirt with white line on the bottom, long socks and white shoes. It was 143 yuan per set. Then, she also bought 2 pairs of tracksuit for daily use which is the same but in lighter blue colour, it was only 65 yuan.

"I also want school uniform." Bai Yi Fang stated as she saw the uniforms in their trolley.

"You can have one when you entered school. Fang Fang will look good in it." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Can't I go to school now?" Bai Yi Fang asked.

"Not yet, when you grow up a bit more, then you can go." Bai Yi Yang said coaxing.

"Alright! I will grow up faster and go to school." Bai Yi Fang said.

The salesgirl nearby just smiled as she heard her, well she hope she wouldn't regret it, it was a pain waking up early to school.

The siblings then go choose school bags, but the school bags here is a bit not to Bai Yi Yang taste, she will just buy it online later and buy a good brands. Since they are at this section, they also choose some stationery and notebooks. Only after that they moved to other sections to do more shopping.

Bai Yi Yang feels that going out to go shopping without their own transportation is a pain. How is she supposed to bring all of these things back? This is only a small shopping, what if she wanted to shop mire in the future?

"Does your supermarket do delivery too?" Bai Yi Yang ask the cashier as she payed the items. Their total come out to be 1499 yuan.

"Yes we do. We have our own apps with all our products inside, we go out to do delivery every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Miss can scan this and download our apps." The cashier took out a piece of advertisement paper. Bai Yi Yang knows that this supermarket is the biggest one in town, they are surely innovative, she quickly scan the code and download the apps. She will check this out later, see if they really have many products, then she will just do delivery from now on.

She pushed out the trolley full with their thing's and call a cab. There is no other choice, they need to call a cab to go to the nearest bus stop. Bai Yi Yang tied the plastic bags together while they were waiting, she organised it properly so that they won't leave anything. Shopping is really quite tiring.

"Fang Fang, Xiao Ling, do you want ice cream?" Bai Yi Yang asked Fang Fang and Xiao Ling who is chatting with each other, she remembers that the children was crazy for ice cream. Bai Yi Fang is still sitting on the baby seat in the trolley as they wait.

"No, I am worried that I can't eat all the food we bought later." Bai Yi Fang said. She was drooling over the food at the market just now, so her thought is only wanting to eat them.

"Me too, I want to eat later." Bai Yi Ling answer. Bai Yi Yang smile, her sisters is really all good.

When the cab arrive, the driver help to unload their things inside the car. It wasn't very heavy actually, it's just that the plastics is very big. The three sisters all wait ride at the back seat.

The driver is a bit too friendly, he ask things in details and it makes Bai Yi Yang a bit uncomfortable. So when the driver who actively ask and Bai Yi Fang who is very honest and talkative continue to talk, Bai Yi Yang lightly nudge Bai Yi Fang and told her to watch cartoons in her phone. Of course Bai Yi Fang immediately agree and loss her interest to talk with the cab driver.

Bai Yi Yang try to stir away the topic and ask about the town instead when the driver insist on chatting. Luckily the ride to the bus stop wasn't long, it still cost 20 yuan though.

"Little miss, if you just tell me your address, I will send you straight home. I have been driving for long time, I only charge a little compared to others." The driver said as he help unload their things from the car, with a little forceful tone.

Bai Yi Yang told her sisters to sit at the bus stop seat and wait for her to unload things. Bai Yi Yang doesn't look happy, this taxi driver is obviously have other bad intention. Is this by chance trying to scam her? She have heard before that some taxi driver became very friendly with customers but when they arrived, they will charge extreme price.

"No thanks, we already promised to ride someone home." Bai Yi Yang said, rejecting. She already paid the fee, and they are already here, there is no need for her to be polite to this kind of people.

"You see, with all these things, people won't charge you with cheap fee. I will only charge with appropriate amount. The van in this area won't send you directly home, just stop at bus stop and they may charge extra for all these stuff. What more, they may try to cheat you." The taxi driver explain again.

'Yeah right…a short ride of about 5 minutes is already 20 yuan, he thinks I am a fool.' Bai Yi Yang thought.

'Host, this person is really having other thoughts' The system said, it also has noticed it. Actually the system was the first one who warn her to be careful when they entered the taxi just now.

"Yatou..you are here." A familiar voice call them. Bai Yi Yang look over and saw the driver uncle from last time they come to the town.

"Uncle.." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Lao Xu, these children has already promised to ride my van. You look for other customers bah." The familiar van driver uncle said to the cab driver. The cab driver looks pissed and humphed before driving away with his cab.

"Thanks for the help uncle." Bai Yi Yang said, sighing in relief.

"I saw you from afar. That person is well known to ask high fee from new people in town, it's good that you only ask him to send you here." The driver uncle said.

"Yes. I can guess from the way he was extra friendly to us siblings." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Are you waiting heading home now?" The uncle ask and saw the piles of things they bought.

"Yes.." Bai Yi Yang awkwardly answer, well she knows that she really overdid in shopping when there are only three of them.

"Then you wait here, the other vans usually leave at 12 pm, now is only 11 am, I can send you back and return before 12 pm to look for customers again." The van driver uncle said.

"Won't it be troubling you uncle?" Bai Yi Yang feels guilty. She didn't know that van usually leave at 12 pm and wait for other customers.

"It won't, there are already a few people in my van, I will just leave in advance today." The uncle driver then return to his van, said a few words to his customers and drive to the bus stop in front of the siblings. A kind uncle who is sitting at the front seat next to the driver help Bai Yi Yang to bring in their stuff. Their seat has become a bit crowded because of the stuff.

"Yatou, you hang on there." The driver uncle said to the siblings before start driving.

The van is actually almost full, there are only 2-3 seat left but since she didn't want her two sisters to sit far, the three of them just squeeze in two seats with their things.

The van driver uncle seems to be close with the man sitting next to him, so Bai Yi Yang only listen to their conversation before they arrived at Qinfang village bus stop. Bai Yi Yang payed 9 yuan and before the uncle can reject, she explain about their stuff and they taking up space. The uncle sitting in front once more help them unload, when he saw Bai Yi Chen comes forward, he then hand over the stuff to him.

"Thank you again uncle." Bai Yi Yang said when they all have get off the van.

"No problem. My words that you can call me anytime is not empty words." The driver uncle said.

Bai Yi Yang smile and said her goodbye.

"You know the siblings?" The man next to the driver ask after they drove away. They already dropped all customers so they dare to chat with each other.

"Only a little bit. They are all good kids, the older brother you saw just now used to work in town, he is only 16 years old. But recently he had stopped coming, the people from the same village said that he had quit. The oldest girl is also not simple, you saw them looking like that but last time I even send them to Bifang restaurant, apparently the siblings are meeting people there." The driver uncle said.

"Really? Have you seen their parents? What kind of person are they to let their teenage boy go to work? Did they leave their children to stay in the village while they work in the city? You know, many people do that." The uncle comments.

"Never. The villagers said that they are orphans living on their own." The driver uncle said.

"Orphans?! How can orphans go to Bifang restaurant? You see the stuff they bought too. It is quite good if they can survive on their own and not sent to the orphanage." The uncle was shocked.

"That's why I say they are not as simple as they look. Stop talking about them, I just know that they are good kids." The driver uncle said and stir away the topics.
