Chapter 2: System

Bai Yi Yang smile when she saw the door is closed.

She didn't mind changing first but straight away look at the system.

She saw that the initiation is 100% complete and there is an activate button below. She didn't hesitate before tapping on the activate button.

[System Activated. Host Please Enter Your Name]The robotic voice sounded again.

Bai Yi Yang knows that the system have brain connection with its user so she fills the details in her mind.

[Host Bai Yi Yang, Welcome to the System.]

Then the menu appears. Basically the system is now Level 0, when people gain points, they can increase the level of each categories. As a starter, she have 10 unused points, she can divide it onto any categories that she wants. To be in level 1, she need to allocate at least 1 point, to get level 2 need 10 points, level 3 need 100 points, level 4 need 1000 and so on. It will get difficult as time goes on. But every time she level up, she will unlock new things and new abilities in each categories.

This system have everything that a human can think off, it was still under development so in the future many more things can be added. It was a creation that want to challenge human ability, take strength for example, each point added will increase the original strength, when you level up the current strength will double and so on. It can make a person become a superhuman.

That is why the system is very sought after. Its just that the system that the researcher are so proud of also become their grave, how can the people up there let them the outsider live? She manage to ran away with the system only because she accidentally heard the higher up conversation to shut them up forever. That's why she manage to plan her escape in advance.

At the first place, they small researchers are meant to be killed after they used up all their skill and become useless.

She sigh again when she remember how scared she was in the wood, chased by the elite soldier that won't even blink to kill.

"Anyway, for now it is better to put my points to Strength, Knowledge and Skills." Bai Yi Yang quickly decide. She don't want the little kid to become impatient.

She can explore this system slowly.

Even as researcher, the system is still a mystery to her too. The research have been going on for tens of years whereas she only join the institute for less than 10 years, how can she kmow everything about the complex system.

She divided 1 points for Strength, 1 points for Knowledge and 2 points for Skills. She appointed 1 point to 2 different skills, making her at Level 1 at those skills.

She haven't decide on the path that she will follow so as times goes by she will add points to the categories that needed to be upgraded. All of these is just so that she can goes through her life easily, she choose all the basic skill such as cooking and carpentry.

She really cannot stand letting a ten years old kid to cook for the whole family, then the current her also doesn't have the cooking skill, so she really need to improve this skills.

As for the carpentry, the first thing she want to fix is the door handle, the little one is still too short, just now she saw her struggling just to close the door for her, and maybe install some simple lock from inside the room. She didn't know how the siblings sleep in this room before, no matter how poor they are, she still want her privacy.

Then she add 1 points to her strength because she really need it, this body is too weak, now she is two times stronger than the original strength at Level 1. But this also is only a bit stronger than her in the other world, this body is really too weak. In the future, she need to nourish this body more and increase points to strength.

The Knowledge is also increase by 1 point to Level 1. She is already a genius, so the knowledge point is also unnecessary to be honest, she need it only because she doesn't know much about this world. At Level 1, her knowledge will be increase to and Undergraduate student level. So now she can search informations about the current world in her mind. It doesn't differ much, its just that the technology in the other world is more advance than here, at least 50 years more advance, if not, how can they create something like the system.

Even after she reach the same age in the future, she bet the technology in this world won't be able to compete with the other world.

After appointing each points that she think necessary for now, she still have 6 points left. After this she will look around and see what categories can she improve.

After feeling satisfied with the appointment, she tap the symbol on her wrist and the screen disappeared.

She quickly changed her clothes and after finding a hair tie at a nearby desk, she tied her hair up before walking out of the room.

When the door open, she saw the little girl squatting in front of the door waiting. Well, she admire her patience, it has been at least 15 minutes and she is still waiting here.

"Jiejie.." Bai Yi Fang stood up and hug her thigh. Even while looking a bit like a little beggar with messy hair, oversized clothes and some dark stain on her face, she still smile brightly at her sister.

Bai Yi Yang sigh. No matter what, she already accepted her fate here and she is actually their real sister in blood even in the other world. So she should take care of his siblings.

She look around and find that the house they are staying is actually a small courtyard house. She went out to the shabby central courtyard and other than the main house that they came out from, there are another three side house on the east and west and an opposite house together with the entrance with no gate whatsoever, it was open wide.

She can say that this house is really open, but even if there is theft, there is really nothing to steal. In the spacious living room of the Main house, there is only some shabby wooden table with two wooden chair with school bags and books on top of it.

In the bedroom she slept in, there is an old mattress with similarly old beddings, a wardrobe, a table and a chair. There is also a table fan on the floor. Other than that, there is nothing else, the siblings was barely living with the most basic things in this house.

Other than that, this is really not that bad, the size of the house is no problem, but the house really look very old, many of the roof tiles already falls off or broken. The wooden exterior of the houses looks old and lifeless. The grass at the central courtyard is dying with yellowish colour. If she is not living here with her siblings, then she may really mistaken this place as an abandoned house.

"Jiejie..how did you get up? Go back in and rest..you are still weak.." Bai Yi Ling walk out from the kitchen at the West house with a spatula in her hand. She said worriedly at Bai Yi Yang.

"No problem, I am much more better. Are you cooking? Do you need help?" Bai Yi Yang walk over to the West House with a little tail following behind.

Bai Yi Ling saw that her sister is really well, there really is no trace of weakness like before in the bedroom. She was amazed but also glad.

"En. But jiejie doesn't have to help, it is almost ready, I just need to stir fry the vegetables with ham." Bai Yi Ling said.

"Ham?! Are we eating ham today? I can't wait for lunch!" Bai Yi Fang exclaimed happily and ran into the kitchen to see.

"Yes. Since jiejie is recovered, then we need to celebrate a bit." Bai Yi Ling said.

Today is a good day, their sick sister woke up and can even walk around, this is a great news. Even if they don't know the future, at least they still need to have a good meal today.

The West house is where the kitchen is and also the bathroom. Bai Yi Yang look over each space to familiarise herself with the house. The kitchen is quite spacious, there is a dining table in the middle with 6 wooden chairs.

The West house is large, it is the same size as the opposite East house, the Main house is even bigger. Quite big for 5 orphans to live in, but she is not shocked anymore, this house, the only thing that they don't lack is space.

This is not the ancient time but they still need to use firewood to cook because they can't afford the gas. There are a pile of firewoods arranged to the wall near the cooking place, that is also one of the things that amazed Bai Yi Yang, it can be said that the people living in this house is not lazy, the house is quite clean too.

She took a seat at one of the wooden chair around the dining table and watch Bai Yi Fang drooling over the uncooked ham. Bai Yi Ling also start putting small spoon of lard into the big iron wok. She knows that the iron wok can be used to cook almost everything, rice, soup, fried, you name it. Its just that cooking with firewood is a bit difficult, they need to start fire, add firewood, control the fire. It is too much work. Using a stove is easier, and rice cooker to cook rice. How easy it is.

"Fang Fang, stop disturbing your sister, come jiejie will wash your face." Bai Yi Yang finally remember that the little kid has a messy face and hair.

Since people will be coming later in the afternoon, and she doesn't have the intention to go to the orphanage, then she must show them that they siblings are capable of living on their own and take care of the younger one.

"Oh.." Bai Yi Fang finally separate from the ham and ran towards Bai Yi Yang.

Bai Yi Yang took her hand to the bathroom next to the kitchen.

In the bath house, there is a large wooden tub filled with water, a few empty buckets on the side. A wooden cabinet with toiletries and laundry necessities.

The house is actually supplied with clean water and electric but they don't even have washing machine, the most basic things, so their clothes should be washed by hands. When she have the money, this is one of the thing that she need to buy first.

Bai Yi Yang help to clean her youngest sister face with water and wipe it clean with towel. Then she also wash his hands and feet, that when she noticed the ugly oversized slippers that her sister is wearing. She sigh again. These siblings, it is really a miracle that they survive up until now.

When the child is clean and squeaky, she ask her to run to the main house to fetch the hairbrush and hair tie before returning to the kitchen to sit at the dining table.

There is nowhere to sit in the main house living room, so she like it better here. The kitchen has two open wide large windows at both side, so the cool wind can flew, it is really refreshing.

When she look outside the window just now, she can guess that they are living in a jungle area, there are no other houses in sight. Later this evening, she will ask her sibling to show her around.

Behind the West House, there are a few patches of vegetables. They are not in the best conditions, some that she can recognise are bok choy, eggplant, chives, spinach and chilli. They are the most common type of vegetables. Some are unrecognisable and some are almost dying.

Should she upgrade her Farming skill?

She look at the busy Bai Yi Ling but there are no response, she is the only one who can hear it.

'Can I also activate skill without opening the interface?' She asked in her head.

[Yes]

'Then add 1 point to Farming skill'

'Then can you suggest other skills that I can improve?'

[Suggestion No.1: Fishing, Suggestion No.2: Swimming, Suggestion No.3: Herbalism..]

The list go on until Bai Yi Yang put a stop to it.

"Xiao Ling, is the place that errr…your little brother go fishing reliable? Can you get decent fish to sell for money?" Bai Yi Yang asked the big girl who is currently stir frying the ham.

There are fragrant aroma from the wok, Bai Yi Yang forgot that she also haven't eaten anything. What more after waking up without eating properly these few days. She quickly swallow her saliva.

"I don't know if we can sell them or not, but one time Xiao Mo catch a bass, it was super delicious. Then there is also an elder who is so lucky many years ago, he went fishing at night at the river and caught a big fish the size of and adult forearm, he sell it in town for 2000 yuan per kilo. After that many people try to go fishing but never get the same fish again." Bai Yi Ling said.

This time, she also hope that Bai Yi Mo brought fish to add dish in their table.

Bai Yi Yang contemplate. With the skill activated, her luck and fishing skills will greatly improve, it would be better than most people. Even if she can't get those rare big fish, at least she can still catch fish to feed the siblings for the time being.

"Is the water deep?" Bai Yi Yang ask again.

"En, its deep. But jiejie don't worry, even if Xiao Mo falls into the water, he can swim very well." Bai Yi Ling smile and continue adding vegetables.

'Then add 1 point to Fishing and 1 point to Swimming. The other is not urgent.'

Bai Yi Yang decided to add points to those two skills. She is also bad at swimming, she actually never swim, she really need that skill. What if she falls into the river while fishing, that will be tragic.

This evening, she will start gaining points back. She cannot continue to lazy around.
